All tracks were previously issued as singles in Jamaica beween 1961 (Carolina, River Jordan & Freedom) and 1965 (Pain In Me Belly & Dick Tracy). The first track on side 1 is listed on sleeve and label as Exodus, but is actually Black Sunday (first issued on an ND Records label in 1964). Ska La Parisienne differs from the single version issued on the Studio One label (matrix CN9). Dick Tracy was credited to Don Drummond on its Studio One issue (matrix CSD50) and to The Skatalites on the UK Island label.
* Carolina (credited to Count Ossie rather than Folkes Brothers) is a Prince Buster production, as are Time Longer Than Rope, Pain In Me Belly and African Blood.
Skatalites* -- Exodous
Count Ossie -- Carolina
Prince Buster -- Time Longer Than Rope
Delroy Wilson -- Spit In The Sky
Maytals, The -- Pain In Me Belly
Prince Buster All Stars* -- African Blood
City Slickers* -- Ocean Eleven
Clancey Eccles* -- River Jordon
Jackie Opel -- Turn Your Lamp Down Low
Skatalites* -- Ska La Parisiene
C. Eccles* -- Freedom
Skatalites* -- Dick Tracy

One of my favorite albums! I used to play it to death. I bought it from an indi record shop owner here in Philadelphia USA called Coxson he was descendent of Studio1 founder sir Clement Coxsone Dodd. This really refueled my interest in early classic Jamaican SouL

Very cool!
--- where is Volume 1?!
I love all studio one. I am a friend of Rob Chapman (never grow old) and was a friend of George Price (Perkins) back in the Day. Also I went to JA in the 1990s.
Why u didn't stay there?
Sumtin gone wrong 'ere man. The first song is called Black Sunday and is not even in the track listing of this album shown in the video. Maybe this is Vol 1 ?
Press error. Definitely vol 2
Dear listeners, who sings the river jordan song? Thanks
Great comp. Records spinning the wrong way though :)
The First Track it's "Black Sunday" , not "Exodus" .. 😊😊 greatest album from Studio One!!
Spot on Mickey . Black Sunday is a fantastic track . I bought this great album cira 1983 but i am pretty sure that History of Ska volume one was inside !
