I remember two shifts were fighting over a treasure I joined in. Briefly Scared off one of the ships took the treasure from the sinking ship, then buried it on the nearby island. The ship came back after it had repaired sank my ship killed me but they never found where I buried it. After I respond I went back and got it
burry treasures are often better.. and if you wanna be sure they don't get your treasure map from your sinking ship.. you can just remove the map bundle from the table and hide it on some remote island and then go back to the dig spot you put down cause you are the only one who knows where it is. XD
Correction coming from a betta player that has played the whole time, robbing people is when you take their goods and you leave them be. As in you don't think their ship that takes considerable skill. Sinking a ship isn't that hard.
I'm a reaper who's almost done getting pirate legend and i never go in a fight especially if the ship I'll figh is larger than mine and i play solo and as a reaper emissary i always fly the alliance flag and i don't attack everyone unless they attack first and I've been sunk too much that i don't really give a shit about fighting unless i have to protect my treasure
You're free to play the game however you want, but you don't sound like you're having fun. You should start pvping as soon as possible, otherwise your pve achievements will make you feel entitled to your loot and make you want to keep running and avoiding pvp.
@@ThatOneGuyWhoTalks2Much Not to be that guy, but they probably do have fun, so many people talk about how you'll get bored of pve content when you don't even know the individual player, me personally, I'd be happy without pvp, I play the game to relax sometimes and I just really like sailing, occasionally I see the peaceful player or two, in fact, I saw a sloop with two players the other day who wanted an alliance, they finished handing in their loot and they sailed off to a fort while I was playing a sharty for their departure, and they even joined in, which weirdly enough gave me faith in the peaceful players in the game. That's a reason why I always come back, because you meet people like that who are down to Earth. Back to the main point tho, you can run from pvp as much as you want and still fully enjoy yourself, today I ran from a ship chasing me when I had zero loot. I had my Shroudbreaker so I could safely get away, and they eventually left me alone, and I loved that.
To be frank and also realistic.. no one is going to swim down to an shrine with an whole Fort of fortune loot.. or stacks of World events/Fort of the damn.. Even just one piece of treasure is too much work for it to be worth doing. So sure.. can do it, but its not worth the time it take to get the loot down to the shrine. Only time this would be worth doing.. would be if you are being chased by an other ship and you can't get to an outpost to sell for some reason.. that is *THE* only reason to swim down to the shrine with the treasure.
This literally sounds like a skill issue. Ok listen up. The reason most of you have such a hard time in random attacks is because you are completely unprepared for the nature of this game. To many of you idiots get cold feat when you start amassing a hoard. You see a boat on the horizon and you think “No go away! I don’t want to lose my hard work!” You set your self up for failure before you get into combat! I have played on a brig with 10 YEAR OLDS while hauling a CoF and CoL, and these little monsters convinced me to activlly attack a gallion that was on the server because it “might” decide to come after us when we do a FoF. You have NOT seen a war crime until you see a child weaponize a bunker keg on an unsuspecting gallion. Three times that ship came after us, three times they sunk under a minute. And it was a captained gallion to. We were on a brig! I’m telling you, the games not toxic, you’re just bad!
@WanderingReapers it's fastest ship with side wind and I've personally never been in a naval fight where both ships cruise side by side going straight so it's the best in the game for death circles there's a reason pace and Mason and all them run brigs alot

As a frequent open crews player, you have made it 87% more harder to find a good crew, all you find is people hiding loot in these shrines

@@fullgrownpotato8272 depending on which direction the wind is, galleons overtake them in speed. Brigantine is only the fastest against the wind.
