  • In our medical segment today, we turn our attention to prostate cancer.
According to the World Health Organisation, prostate cancer was the second most common cancer diagnosed among men globally in 2020, with over 1.4 million new cases.
Alarmingly, Africa carries one of the highest prostate cancer mortality rates, with southern Africa seeing a 60% increase in cases over the past 15 years.
In South Africa alone, prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men of all races.
Joining us this morning to talk more on this chronic disease is Urologist Dr Nicholus Thulani Nkosi from La Verna Private Hospital in Ladysmith.
