@@chadlloyd6247 the LJ has a HP D30 (out of an XJ) and ARB air lockers at both ends. The D30 is also sleeved. Chrome Molloy axles at both ends, a rubicrawler, and 513 gears. It could probably go to 37s with that set up but its able to do most everything with the 35s and also reduces chance of breakage.
@@highdesert4wheelers cool thanks for the info. I have an xj hp30 ready to go in will have 4.56 (I have 6 spd) and Detroit, truss, and c gussets, think that should be fine for 35s. Just wanted some real world experience. If you don’t mind me asking, are those 15 or 17 in wheels? 15s the tires are way cheaper, but 17s tires truer to size.
@@chadlloyd6247 the rims are 15". those are used because there is more sidewall (flex) when wheeling. Cost/availability also helps. But, without the beadlocks the 35" tire will burp air occasionally even at 10-12 psi. Smaller tire will burp less. If you go larger than 35's consider moving to a 17" rim.
Another good video Jon thanks for sharing the trail with us. Hopefully to see you guys again. 😀
Hey thanks and glad you enjoyed it!
I thought this trail got shutdown. I remember a post on Pirate saying the Sheriffs came out, don’t remember if they got tickets or not.
Do you have to get permission from the land owner to run this trail?
Tire size on the LJ?
35's.
@@highdesert4wheelers do you mind if I ask: Dana 30? Gearing? Lockers? I am about to build for 35s in my LJ. Thanks for any info.

Send me a message if you go out there again. I haven’t been there in 15 years. I’d like to go again.
Great video!
Will do, thanks Billy!
