Just do an air cooled 200cc video series! Race em all! Xr200 next!!
Just ordered another shirt. This time for my 12yr old son. Inspiring Racing!!! I grew up riding in the Las Vegas desert as a kid on my XRs. Keep the content coming...
Dude I want to see you go back an I am sure you'll win first place!!
Awesome job crew
Congrats on finishing the race mate. Not many people can say they did a 24hour race solo
Dude, that was epic!
Loved the whole deal, crowd funded, 'wrong' bike having a laugh ( BUT still putting in 110% effort with your training and commitment) !
Seeing you on the podium actually brought a lump to my throat, for real.
Huge congratulations my friend 👌
This. Was. AWESOME!!!! Okay so who's ready to get Gabe to Baja on a GPX?!?!
I'm ready for a GPX hahah. Was seriously considering one but then today the next bike was determined when I got an offer I can't refuse on an XR600R
A GPX race would be awesome. Looking at a TSE250r to replace the xr 200 I jave on loan for hair scrambles. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the xr600.
That would be sweet!!
@@TortureTestMagazine put the call out on 4chan to buy sponsor spots, should get flooded with spicy memes😎
@@TortureTestMagazine The XR600R is the real deal bike despite its age... That bike definitely should be a bike tested by Gabe at Torture Test Magazine!
I hope DR200’s aren’t banned in the future for unfair advantage! You killed it, dam fine job.
IDK if I would support a ban, but I could get onboard with a 200cc air cooled class. We could call it the "Good Luck On Those Hills Class."
this isn't F1
Man when you pulled that monster off the stand it sounded like it was breathing fire just rarin'to go!
This was without a doubt the greatest racing story I’ve seen in a long time. Somebody else may have crossed the line first, but you are THE IRONMAN. Nobody else could have accomplished what you did. I remember following this story live on Instagram cheering you on from the other side of the country and watching it all unfold. Congratulations Gabe, you earned it and then some! Whatever you decide to build next, you can count me in! Honored to be a part of the channel :)
"Plus one Brett power. Had to be at least one horse power" Hahaha I was laughing so hard. You did great man! It was a pleasure meeting you.
I'm gonna need the Brettpower again on the next one so hope you're out there again!!!
@@TortureTestMagazine Ill be seeing you out on the battlefield (;
Seeing my sticker on the DR's tank made it all the more real, your motivation and dedication is inspiring.
I loved your sticker because it has a CEL on it haha. Thanks for supporting this
Hey Gabe, I met you at the race and took a picture with you. I also get the event rags signed by you. That was Me! I was there being the pit crew for my uncles team. We couldn’t stop talking about you all night long. We were number 40. Thanks for being so cool and good race brother.
I remember that Aidan! Thanks for the cheers out there
You're incredible. Not only is a solo 24 hr a huge feat in itself, but on a turd of a dr200. My hero!
I'm not a KTM but you made me cry, bro
Totally love it man....your the Dude. I'm 66 yrs. Old ride vintage. Very cool. You got me feeling motivated. Keep it pinned bro!
12th.
The fact that you did this, a race where people have literally almost died. You did it on a bike that was destroyed, had like 15 horsepower, and you got second. I don’t even know what to say. That is insane. Where was I supposed to begin in saying this? It’s crazy!
This video has me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Absolutely amazing. I want to see an aftermath of the bike... I really feel like you need to be featured in DirtBike magazine for this
I'm glad it was entertaining! I was pictured in the Dirt Bike Magazine article of the race but so far nobody from anything has reached out for comment
@@TortureTestMagazine You could do a Co-op article with them
This video was great! As a guy who raced Baja for a decade, you did the most important thing. You kept moving! The low tech. DR200 was an advantage. Less to go wrong. Great Job!!!
Factory Suzuki should be sponsoring you dude, incredible
That. Was. Awesome. This is the content I love to watch.... 32 minutes of awesomeness. Not 10 minutes of how much a bike weighs by some dude who doesn't even know how to ride. 🤣
Can't wait for your next race!
I'm glad you thought it was awesome! I think the next project bike(s) are going to be every bit as exciting so I'm looking forward to the next race as well!
You are one bad ass fool! I have had 3 back/neck surgeries be careful you don't go wreck your body. I killed myself at work for my 4 kids and paid the price for it. Do it for yourself and for the fun of it. I appreciate your content because the bikes you ride almost anyone can afford and you are someone I can definitely root for. You can do almost anything you put your heart and soul into keep getting it brother.
Man I don't remember actually cheering for someone as I watched the instagram feeds ever before. That was absolute perfection, I'm so happy for you....
Somehow I heard the cheers man. That energy had to come from somewhere
28:23 I choked up. After feeling like I was there with you through everything, hearing the joy of the crowd seeing you come through is worth crying about.
I cried last lap lol. Didn't mention that in the video but yeah
Wow! That was an awesome achievement! Next mission: Dakar on a Dr200!👍
One day 😁
Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. You have reached the latter my friend 🤘🏼
I wanted to show my thanks rather than just say it. Your videos are my favourite on RUclips - with doing all these fun things on older bikes, and not having to have a huge budget. Things that feel achievable to all of us 😊 You’re videos help us feel like we’re along for the ride too
Dude we NEED to get you in the 24 hours of Perry Mountain! True east coast single track in Alabama! So many reasons why you need to do this! we need to talk!
I came to this channel for the reviews but I stayed for the endurance races, god bless you man your an inspiration
I was scratching at my neck like a meth addict for my next dose of dr200.
Keeping your heart rate down is so smart. I’ve run a lot of long distance trail races (foot races) and it’s the same principle. You have to keep your heart rate down.
Yep. 60 seconds of max heart rate can totally wipe someone out for the whole day!

24 hrs is a long time on a dirt bike, I’m impressed. This race is going on my bucket list
...tonight, watching this in Oz, the two off-road dirt bikers that impress me the most in 2021 - you and Toby Price. :-)
Awesome job Gabe! Your videos inspired me to a 9 hour endurance race in Missouri. What an experience! I ended up third overall Ironman! Not too bad for a 45 year old! Maybe I’ll do another one on my stepsons 2002 TTR 250......mmmmm
Keep up the good work!
LOVE your story! You just cant imagine what its like racing the 24hr @GlenHelen unlels you've done it! Those last 6 hours are brutal and it's absolutely amazing how much energy (mental/physical) the sunrise brings. Definitely reminds you how spiritually connected we are to the sun.
Congratulations on everything brother, I can only imagine how hard the journey was and even since getting all the footage put together. Your an inspiration to all of us! Keep it up man 💪💯🇺🇸
Awesome ride, as a sponser !!!!!!!!! (John Evans) it made me all warm inside to see my name on your tank ;-) Can't wait for the next one :-)
Hahah thank you for being a supporter!!!
From all the way over here in Australia - thankyou for doing these videos! These are the best - the ones that make you feel like normal everyday people can go and just have fun and enjoy themselves, and not have to have to best gear. After watching this I just went for a great ride on my crappy old DR250R (not quite a DR200) - and loved it more than riding my more modern bikes! Thankyou for doing this video and inspiring enjoyment regardless of bike type ☺️
Dude! I am sitting in my couch feeling proud just for being a long time sub. Well done mate!
You have the true spirit of dirtbiking! Amazing video!
this guy deserves more recognition! same, with that bike! I knew she had a warriors heart when I owned one.
Suzuki powah babeh! Congratulations man!!
This past March I was in an enduro race in Guanajuato Mexico rocking my DRZ400 (the only one in the entire event) against alot of very lightweight enduro-otiented bikes and I can relate to many things you felt during the race! That was my first ever enduro race and despite that I managed to get 5th place and that hurt a lot of ktm riders feelings LOL
Congrats man - great result and a solid effort (from a KTM owner :)
Thank you!
I ride a 2019 DR200s. Man I loved watching you race that machine, but it was HEART and SOUL that made the difference.
Wow. Going to finish my work and after that I'm out for the outside world! beer in hand and 32 minutes of awesomeness!
This is more than another race and 2nd place! It is much more!
I strongly believe Gabe and you all paid for started a new era of racing!
I had much more fun watching this than any other video last few years. It is emotional, it is fun, a community of off road racing fans, big heart, big love!
No big sponsors, no factory mechanics, no big trucks or 18 wheeler, nothing of bling bling!
"Just" for doing it with big love!
Wish you all the best and lets continue what started here!
Your story is truly inspirational. Now you have an idea what you are made of and what you can do. Well done.
I learned a lot for sure and I know what it takes to win now!
Great work man !
Thank you!! And thanks for staying subbed for nearly a decade hahah
CHEAH
you running in this next?
Thanks. Keep up the show. Good entertainment . Awesome riding . Keep posting your fun stuff. You have grit keep positive. I bought an inexpensive 05 for my children and found your channel trying to see what knowledge base is available for this underwhelming bike. (Not much you may be one of the few experts) Your promotion of this model must have folks scouring classifieds for one.
Congratulations buddy, I am truly inspired and I have a dr200 🤣😂😁
Proof it’s the rider more than the bike. Also says a lot about the headspace it takes to succeed. Bravo!
Great Job Gabe and thank you for sharing your adventure! Suzuki should put you on a factory team after that! I'm sure this video will sell more DR200's than their top sales associate could! Stay cool, and keep it real! You have a ton to be proud of.
The legend of Gabe and the dr200s. No one at that race will forget that. And second place. Like what did the guy in first ride? Obviously a more capable bike and your endurance despite everything. And how encouraging to see, I might have been able to do 24 hour races when I was younger (like not even for sure), but no way I could do it now due to health issues that came up and now I get tired at 8:30pm no matter what I do, so it was incredible to see you do so well. There's something special about you. So in the you may have come in 2nd in the race but you won the show.
DR200s just went up in value. You put in the training hours to get in amazing condition. Great athletic performance! Class act wearing that KDX shirt after the race. Your mini-movie on the KDX200 is really excellent. Wondering how you would have done on a Fredette-prepped KDX220.
Excellent effort!
Your race is an inspiration to all the kids that don't have new cool bikes. It proves that with determination and dedication you can still win on a sub standard bike.
Absolutely great!! I’d loan you my XR 400 it’s mint you’d win every race you enter!!!
Congratulations well done!!!!
Or maybe find a nice DR 250 lol
Hit like, make popcorn, enjoy!!! Well done Gabe!
Gidday from Australia.
You slept for 1 hour and came second on a dr200 .
Wow well done puts every other bike to shame .
Now get a drz 250 still an underdog bike , has better brakes and suspension and a bit more power .
Keep the small underdog bike theme coming so everyone knows you don't need $15k bikes to race or win .
Well done mate sorry some of your friends let you down you didn't let us down at all .
I just picked up a DR200SE and I am Stoked after watching this Vid !!! Subscribed !!! Respect !!!!!
drz400 supermoto racer here. Been thinking of stepping it up to a 450 but I guess I got no excuse, now! Mad props for that podium finish!
Way to go out there and absolutely smash the pride and confidence of all the sponsored team riders. You have won the internet and life for 2020 I believe.
It's race days like that that will make you smile whenever you think about it.... it's not always about the biggest and fastest bikes it's about the craic!
Great ride, well done!
Gabe, you are a freaking tank! That was freaking awesome.
Side note: all dislikes are from the KTM-owners who were totally butt-hurt by you and the DR200.
RUclips kept recommending the DR series to me, probably because I'm a fresh EXC owner, and I kept scrolling past; what a treat did I miss! Really great effort, enjoyable commentary and strong racing spirit. Good job!
I don’t know how many times I watched this. I usually only watch videos once unless it’s a repair guide that I’m working on.
Thanks for an awesome performance and inspirational video Gabe!!! I'll bet you had more sponsors than any two other bikes out there combined. It gave me a little tingle to see all the stickers on the DR!
Seasons Greetings from Maine .I would rather be riding my KDX but we received a foot of snow.Congratulations Ironman keep killing it !
Absolutely amazed by your determination and attitude! Congratulations, you absolutely earned that spot on the podium and I hope to see you in the #1 spot soon. Keep pushing the limits of yourself and I know great things will happen. #KTMTears #DR200
This is awesome! I really enjoyed this series and bought a shirt. I hope things keep turning up for you man.
I bought 2 shirts
@@davef6105 :O
Fuck yeah bro! From the claws of depression to 2nd place! Your content is seriously awesome and I wish you had 10 times the subs you have. There's isn't a small channel more deserving. You put so much heart and soul into your videos, your badass!
Legendary man! You should have way more followers then you've got. Congratulations on second place from Sweden 🇸🇪 🎊
I’m glad you took the time to make this video. You will go far in life your parents must be so happy with you.
This is freaking awesome and inspirational. Thanks for the incredible content. Can't wait to see what you do next. I'll be wearing my KTM Tears shirt with pride next time I race my XR200!
What a story! Phenomenal. Recover well!
This video is truly motivating! Wow! What a Trooper! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Congrats man, great ride!
Gabe I've watched this one video probably 5 or 6 times. It's probably my favorite project of yours. Thanks for giving us great content.
Love this video! Fuel by ktm tears! Best thing ever. My son has a dr200-06 model he races a rm250 in xc events here in Indiana. He has been inspired to race an event on his 200 just for fun!😂
Legendary! Thanks for doing this man
Thanks for watching!
Holy crap man that really is outstanding ! Your will to ride a crappy bike and not give up is epic. Clearly you deserve your win good job !
“The Little DR That Could”. It’d make a great kids book. Nice job Gabe. The “fueled by KTM tears” sticker was 👌🏻. Way to stay after it bud.
This was absolutely crazy entertaining. Wearing my "I 💜 KTM Tears" shirt with pride.
Thank you!! Hahah thanks for being a supporter. Enjoy the shirt!
I’ve been watching your channel for a couple years now I love your videos!
Dude can we get some more insight on the physical training you did to prep for this lol. Incredible story and incredible work man. Congratulations to you and everyone that made this a reality.
Most definitely. Once I get healed I'd like to explain a few things that I find helpful for riding fitness.
As soon as this lockdown is over I swear I’m going to do a Hard Enduro race for the first time, 🤟 maybe I’ll do 10 hours of GlenHellen 😅
Hell yeah, get it
Good stuff man! You are a living embodiment of ''it's not what you ride its how you ride''! Keep going! Cheers from the land down under!
Great riding! Incredible triumph, this encompasses what riding is all about! Pushing the limits and reforming the boundaries!
Excellent race, Gabe! Looking forward to what comes next.
SUper cool video! I was feeling proud of you as the racwe wore on and you got in and out of the right head space, caught yourself and powered thru. You would make a good Marine!
Wow, man. You are a legend and an inspiration! Love the paper towels and last-minute skid plate. This is so much cooler than any fancy new bike!
What an insane feat of endurance. You did a phenomenal job. Keep kicking strong and putting yourself to the test. You will be amazed at how much more capable you are than your mind lets you think you are. All of the strongest people I know have those same internal conflicts. My clapped out KTM weeps in admiration of your victory
The stuff you make with these bikes is crazy it would be so cool if you get a old 80s bike and race it to the dust. Keep the videos coming! 🎉
Amazing work. I've only done 12hrs but what you describe is exactly what I endured.
I always had punctures (3 in one) I can tell you, you don't want to be doing them whilst you are shattered.
Congrats man, you really deserved this victory.
Truly awesome mate, I've learnt a few life lessons from this today. Thank you.
Gabriel you are an inspiration to me and my buddies that i ride with. Love every ounce of content you create and i wish you nothing but the best in the future. Here’s to hoping 2021 doesn’t suck as much ass as this year
Very cool video. There's something to be said about small framed, underpowered bikes. The low energy nature of this style of bike makes it great for an endurance race.
Unbelievable! Making the big boys cry. Imagine explaining to your sponsors about betting beat by a homemade team on a DR 200. Love to be a fly on the wall of that meeting. Outstanding!!!!
Love your channel. So surprised you haven't gotten support from a company on a bike or... You were killing it. BTW I wear my Rust Bucket Racing t-shirt quite often.
I have ridden this race twice on a team and let me tell you it's hard even with 4 guys. I can remember getting on the bike at 2:30 in the morning being so tired and telling myself to grab the front brake and my hand did not move. It's amazing he Iron maned this on a DR200 the 24's hours of Glen Helen is a brutal race it's a test of mental and physical ability.
Love your enthusiasm and dedication, congratulations, job well done!
Awesome effort dude. Love your vids and your ethos.
I love these series that you do. Please do some cool stuff with the KDX200. Glen Helen KDX200? I would love to see that.
what a great racing story!!!! Thanks man for that🔥
Great job man. I have a 1987 Dr 200 love the bike it's not powerfull but it does what I want it to do and that's all I need. I think they are the right weight and your not needing to go 70mph in the woods
