  • I raced solo in the ironman class at the Glen Helen 10 Hour Endurance race. I had to fight my way back from absolute dead last overall with the goal of finishing in a trophy position and beating half of the people running the team race.

    Torture Test Magazine is an e-magazine which documents, in fine detail, the stories of bikes subjected to a real-world reliability test known as "the torture test." In the magazine, the torture test is conducted on a bike until it mechanically fails so badly that it can no longer run. Why? Because bike reviews based on a few hours of test riding are not satisfying enough. We want to know exactly how reliable a bike is, and how it will eventually fail. Simply put, Torture Test Magazine brings you the world's most detailed reliability and cost of ownership reviews for motorcycles.

After watching your In Depth Reviews on the XR250R, CRF250X and the KDX200 it really stuck in my mind how much you loved the KDX. Why is it that all the races you've entered your on bike other than the KDX? I too have owned two KDXs and feel very much the same as to your opinions but was surprised to never see the KDX after the In Depth Review video of the KDX. Why is this? The KDX is probably the most fun bike to me. Surely would be a ridiculously good endurance racer too. Only reason I haven't is because I gave it to my friend Damon so he can build it into one of his own creations. He does really well built bikes. So I gave it to him and just want to see what becomes of it. Totally could end up out at the races one day!

      @@TortureTestMagazine I see. Okay. One more thing. I have a business channel on RUclips and know what's it's like to put together a decent video. You my friend really have taken your videos to a level rarely seen by an individual. What makes your videos great is a few things. The quality of content is of course the most obvious but the production at which the video are done and most importantly the consistency at which it's done makes the content very valuable to the viewer, especially when they are consider two or more of the bikes you've tested. The videos are so well done that I often record them locally and play that back without the monitor on because it helps be forget about the daily troubles and relax. I know kind of weird. I'm not sure if you add audio compression but even the audio is smooth and consistent. Both the commentary and the bikes sounds, etc. I know what it takes to get this and I don't often see this so I want you to know it doesn't go unnoticed. I bet there are a boat load of subscribers that would like to see a similar review on the new GPX TSE250R and FSE250R as the is really little creditable videos about these new Chinese bikes. Anyway thanks again for all the great work and efforts.

    Thanks for sharing! Whats your thoughts on top speed? Was your bike fast enough? What if you were on your CRF230F with 6 years would it have been able to hang on the fast flats with your CRF250X?
    I grew up on XRs my main memory was always losing my lead on the straights or getting passed on the straights because my XR250R lacked the top end speed of my buddies on CR125's, YZ250's and CR250's. Now I'm considering getting the new CRF250F. I like the air cooled reliability and with fuel injection Im excited to not have to worry about feul/air mixture with big elevation changes.

      On this course top speed wasn't that big of an issue. The CRF230 would have been severely out-pulled down those straights but neither bike would be reaching their limits. I haven't ridden the CRF250F yet but people are saying it's better than the 230. So that should be pretty good. The 230 is entry level for sure, but fun and capable.

    • @TortureTestMagazine
      @TortureTestMagazine  5 лет назад +1

      Depends on the year of the 230. I bought my 250x for $2400 two years ago

      @@TortureTestMagazine Mine's a 2005. It's either I sell it or get some new parts like a new exhaust system and some anodized parts.

      The way I see it, you kinda have to decide which bike you want to have for the use that you're putting on it. You can't make a 230 ride like a 250X, and you can't make a 250X ride like a 230.

    • @TortureTestMagazine

      The race starts in 5 waves, and ironman is the last wave. So it only took getting passed by a handful of people to be in dead last
