this is not a fair comparison since China's car market is cyclical... YoY BYD is over 10% up, while Tesla is down.

One thing I do agree with you on, is Elon. He's become entirely unhinged, and he's damaging the brand.
I have huge respect for him, but he's rejected his investors. He's rejected any semblance of truth (what kind of person shares false information, and simply says "oh, well people correct me so it's fine"?). His says one thing, and does another.
Either he needs to refocus, or find a successor.
Musk's brand damage isn't the sole reason for he drop in sales, but it is a reason, and Tesla does need an independent board.
