Overall I think Global Operations is slightly better than CS. Most of GOs animations are smoother and a bit more realistic. None of the weapon models are mirrored.
Agreed, though the devs where limited by the sound hardware of the time, which would either be PCI or ISA SoundBlaster (or compatible) cards, or very basic AC97 audio codecs which did pretty much all of the audio processing on the main CPU, which limits audio processing time due to having to run everything else’s as well (the game, OS, drivers, etc).
@@thegeforce6625 They were not very limited, but they chose to create sound effects with low sample rate. This game was released in the 2000s. Counter-Strike got 22 kHz sound effects. Global Operations sounds like 11 kHz
Counter strike 1.6 truly was ahead of its time, in terms of the animations. If i ported the animation into a modern game, change the models a bit and shift the position of the view model a bit, itd be fairly convincing.
CS1.6's animations are really advanced and impressive for being made in 1999, even several modern games have crude animations compared to CS1.6.

Global Operations sounds so cool, so powerful. Too bad, the sounds were made with low sample rate.
Not to mention the weapon animation, so correct and ahead of its time.

You can thank Gold Source for the skeletal animation tech they use , unlike its previous predeseccor Id Tech using vertex animations
@@cumshitman0420 i wasnt expecting a man of your name to be so knowledgeable on the topic! What does those mean though? Im mot much of an animator.

@@FootOfOrion wow you must be really smart and intelligent and interesting.
