when in the middle of an active combat zone, take your time reloading your firearms. the armed hostiles shooting at you will still be there when you finish.
Everyone in the comments that are talking about how the reloads are slow and not in a hurry seem to forget that we're not playing as uber-tacticool spec ops operators in Squad. Whatever role/kit you pick, you'll just be a faceless crayon eating grunt that need to coordinate with one another instead of each being one man armies.
You can have panic-stricken reloads in your game whilst also being a fragile little grunt, people aren’t complaining about the speed, they’re complaining about the emotion of the reloads’ body motions.
There's nothing wrong with slowing down to create a more tactical experience but at least be honest. The body language betrays training while the pace implies inexperience; make it consistent, at least with small arms.
Except the way they reload feels like there's no sense of urgency, like they're in the range, checking the magazine even for half a second, even police officers in bodycam vids reload way faster than that, even if they fumble on their pistols and even jam in the process
Y’all be hating on the guy for taking his time but if you think about it he’s just calm even under fire which is extremely important. Also it’s good to take your time while reloading so you don’t mess anything up
That’s what annoys me the most about people who complain about how slow reloading is in more realistic shooters. Like, do you want to go slow and not fuck it up, or go too fast, fuck up, and end up taking more time correcting your mistake than If you’d just reloaded slowly in the first place?
That’s what they taught us about reloads in the army don’t try to speed through it. Go as slow as you need to get it right and speed will come naturally once you have done it hundreds of times. When you keep failing the qual range 4 or 5 times in a row you get pretty good at reloading.
me: in the middle of the most intense, most adrenaline rushing most terrifying fight ive ever been in my squad guy: lemme just take time to reload this assault rifle
Damn, didnt know the Kord was in the game. Saw Ian's look on that big beast and he said it's somewhat a new MG with a funny pull cord charging mechanism.
The L131A1 is also known as the P80 in Austria, but to civilians and Law Enforcement, it's the Glock 17. The M17 is also known as the Sig Sauer Accidental Discharge-o-Matic (or P320). Just some fun facts. Oh, also, there is a difference between the M4 and the M16. The M4 has a 14.5 inch barrel and uses a carbine length gas tube, whereas the M16 has a 20 inch barrel and a rifle length gas tube.
14:24 could someone please explain how he loads the blank round without the bolt taking another round from the magazine as it goes forward, thus causing a double feed?
I can say that in the high-stress conditions of a real battlefield, it’s more important to prioritize precise reloading procedures, even if it’s slower; speed comes second. trying to reload at the speed of CoD in an actual firefight would only increase the risk of failed reloads.
For those bitchin about the reload speed, if you watch combat footage of soldiers and militants, I'd say the reload speed here is appropriate for a milsim game, dare I say even faster than irl
SMGs are still used by most militaries and are deployed in active combat zones but with access to body armor, pistol-caliber bullets just don't get the job done sometimes which is why carbines using the same ammo as full-length assault rifles are replacing them nowadays.
@@anri4774 OWI needs to integrate the code in Beyond the Wire for that, for whatever reason OWI coded it so that only one projectile comes out the barrel at a time so the Remington 870 that was supposed to come out with the ADF shot slugs
I never understood, nor will I understand, why on earth you would remove your support arm from your weapon, to charge your action by reaching over or under the weapon. All I see that doing, is seriously disrupting the sight picture of the person holding the firearm, if they had a sling helping them support the weapon i could see it, but in almost none of these animations is there a support sling, which means they are no longer supporting their weapon and using their less dominant hand, to charge a bolt, now no longer supporting their firearm and adding time to reacquiring a target... When all you have to do, is just drop the magazine, insert the new one with your left hand, support the weapon, then do a quick right hand motion to close the action, and you barely alter your sight picture and you don't stop supporting your weapon to reach around the magazine or scope to do this silly bolt action... Seriously... Why...
The reason is because you already removed your support arm with the process of taking off and inserting a new magazine. The process of reloading is simple but using the two hands to do it just makes it unnecessarily complex
I know that the reloads in squad must be realistic but i swear to god, i hate when my soldier sees the magazine before putting it onto the weapon. It doesn`t make any sense. In all case, they should put that animation when you are not under enemy fire. I hate when they are supressing me back with enemy fire and my dude reloads like that.
Magazine checking is for making sure there's no dirt, mud, water or any other thing that could jam the weapon from the inside, the soldier could've crawled recently or been in other situation that could've got his equipment dirty. Is to also check you are grabbing a loaded mag instead of a empty one. Smooth and Steady reloading is better than being hasty since you'll fumble the reload and waste a crucial milisecond injecting the magazine, but the game does need a Under Fire/Supression reload, so we can see the soldier under stress.
M17 looks like a curious robot reloading a handgun for the first time in its existence
tbh none of the pistol reloads are particularly strong lol
