Is that a spruce top fiddle?

I’m really sorry but I’m not actually sure. It’s made by a man called Tom Robertson from Dalry in Ayrshire,Scotland in 1982 but that is all I know about it.

I love this! Been playing violin for a while but want to learn fiddle style. How do you make the short flick sound that makes it sound more British Isles than Appalaichan?

You play the short note always on a down bow and basically just a very quick flick and then up again. Almost as if you are having a spasm!! or a brief jerk of the hand. And the up bow after the short note tends to come off the sting at the end as well. It is called a scots snap if you want to try to find a better explanation online....

I am loving your videos. Where can we obtain the sheet music for your version of Tam Lin and Calum's Road Set please. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Fiona , trying to play along on my D whistle.
If this is the slow version then Im fried I can hardly keep up because it seems fast and Im out of breath half way through.
    Thanks for posting

wadefite ah no this is up to speed as it’s a whole set. Video would have been about half an hour long if I did them all slow. But I should have each individual tune slowly in separate videos if that helps?
