Great vid thank you😊
Your the second guy that walk right up to the problem then didn't complete the diagnosis . what a let down .
Information was in fact very useful. I've been for the last 2 years or so, running with an extraordinarily frequent dryer purge (every 5-7 seconds) three dryers replaced in the last year. Nobody gets to the root cause. Either because of lack or will or lack of knowledge.
on volvo clutch fan was leaking air witch would trigger airGovernor to start compressor every 1-2 minutes ... or any air leaks from compressor to governor
Can you make a video blocking off the air compressor like you stated?
Thanks!
I have a 2016 Peterbilt 389 Pride and Class with Detroit 60 Series. Special deal from Fitzgerald. High pressure in coolant system. Mechanic saying the engine got extremely hot and it’s probably a cracked head and possibly warped the engine block. The CEL came on a few times and the coolant temp went up to 210 to 215 and then the light went out and the temp dropped off to 140 and then back up to 180. Did this a few times. I thought it was the thermostat getting stuck closed and then open. There’s a class II oil leak on the drivers side of the engine above the air compressor. Mechanics saying $30,000 to overhaul engine. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated! Failed bubble test. Blown head gasket or worse?
The cylinder sleaves get holes in them if you overheat the engine. This allows air from the cylinder to get blown into the coolant which is all around the sleeve.
@@dorito1129 you gettin railed on that 60 series rebuild. Was told 15k for mine if it ever needed one
2013 579 with epa10 paccar is doing almost the same thing. im getting excessive coolant pressure only when the truck is loaded and im in hills. if im empty or idle all night then i dont loose any coolant, but soon as i get loaded and climb a hill it starts blowing out through the over flow and is worse the heavier i am or the steeper the hill. example is i lost a whole gallon after 80 miles with a 45k lb load on the truck, but with a 27klb load i did over 400 and lost a gallon, with the same 27k load i did a hill that was steep enough to require 5th gear and during those few minutes that i took to climb the hill i lost over a gallon of coolant. block test turned green but not yellow. we are leaning towards head gasket or cracked head but people keep saying its my compressor. what do you think? id think if it was the compressor then why dont i lose coolant at idle or even when empty instead of only when loaded
I'm in same situation. Did you figure out what it was?
@@1SickMustang nope. Parked the truck and took a bank loan and bought a new one to run until i could afford to diag the broke one. Went and got a fld120 with the 12.7. Had to go back to when trucks were more reliable
Did you find the problem ?
@@Theoneandonly1-s1l nope. Parked it and took a bank loan for a new one. Ill revisit it n a years time
I am a fan from VietNam. I have a question and would like some guidance.,How to check and clear DTCs on prostar without laptop tools
I have this problem with my truck
You may have air leaks especially the quarter inch hose on the engine if you have a paccar
Part 2?
Cool shit i’m wondering, do you ever use the Lang diesel compression adapters? I know it’s a bit of a pain to take out the injectors to do the test with those
