Julie, thank you for sharing your kitchen with us. I can relate to your enthusiasm, it is wonderful to have a pretty kitchen. Here's another thought: getting individual slipcovers for your blue couch, in a cream like your stove or tan (like the tiles over your sink counter) would make the room seem much larger and even more cohesive. Plus the slipcovers can be washed and changed out for a different color when you are in a different mood. They can be found online. Thanks again for sharing your joy!
Julie, I love the idea of making chair pads - each one different. Think of the fun you'll have searching for six different fabric patterns! Off to the flea markets you go!! 😀I always wear an apron when I'm cooking too. My favorite is a striped homespun that is just a tied-at-the-waist version, not one that covers my upper body. I think you've inspired me to make another one - so I dug in my fabric stash and found some micro mini checked homespun and I will make it entirely by hand. Inspired by Julie! Know what I love? Just how your family helps do all the handyman chores - just adds to the fun, the memories, the togetherness! Good on you!! Enjoy your new kitchen! You've earned it - lots of work and time involved, as well as good taste...totally unpretentious and real.

Don't you dare paint the awesome chestnut shelf in the kitchen!!!!!!! I know you don't care for matchy-matchy, but I would cushion the kitchen chairs with the same fabric that is under the sink. I would also stencil/paint some birds to match your plates over the blank white exhaust fan cover. It's a LOT of white as it is now. The large striped window curtains are brilliant!

@@RichardMcGrath by the way the fabric curtain under the sink is something that has always been popular here in Italy…I remember it when I came in 1959 and my mom told me they always had a nice “curtain” to hide the garbage or detergents or whatever wasn’t very kitchenie! If you use just your hands, the edge of the fabric will stretch out and be prone to soiling.
Your new cucina is bellissima. The curtain under the sink adds texture to the kitchen colors. Keep the chairs natural wood and add seat pads. The natural wood compliments the window frames, the shelf over the sink, and your cheese cabinet. Great job! You did it.
Your kitchen turned out so well!! I love the color of your cabinets and the tiles are beautiful!! That shelf that runs behind the sink is perfect. Everything works perfectly! Your team worked magic! Nice to see your beautiful children too! Congratulations!😊🌺🌸
I agree, don't paint the chairs. A little more natural wood will tie in to the natural chestnut shelf (which is perfect) and the large cheese cabinet. Love your little Italian house!
Please tighten your net wires :( they are supposed to be taught and are designed with stretch so you can put the wire under tension - but for that the linen is beautiful
Definitely cushions on the chairs, but don’t paint them. I think a nice geometric pattern, that contrasts whit the plaid and the stripes of the curtains, would be nice, but I would make all the cushions the same. If you want a complimentary color to the colors of the curtains, that would work, but multiple colors would be too much, in my humble opinion. The kitchen is lovely! You have done an amazing job with the whole house. I love it all.
Chair cushions and leave the shelf natural wood also. I loved that you showed yourself cooking like a normal person with spills and all. By the way, Nestor needs his own garage, Team Nestor here.
You might want to consider putting a support in the middle of the rod that is holding those beautiful long curtains in the kitchen. When you opened and closed the curtains the rod drooped and sprung back but it won't last long if that continues. Beautiful kitchen!

No paint! Love the wood of the chairs! Cushions sound great!
The kitchen looks terrific! There is only one thing that calls out to me for "more interest" -- and that is the large white block of space above your cooker -- perhaps a painting or more tiles, or a large decorative platter or a contrast paint color would make it look less of a big and obvious block of white?
Team NO for painting the lovely chairs. I recommend a beautiful blue (to match the sofa) chair pad, perhaps the same fabric as the curtain under the sink with a strong blue border.
Love your beautiful Italian kitchen. I love the idea of different colors on the chair cushions. You could do a wreath in matching or seasonal colors on your range hood. Perhaps a wood crafting project with thin leaves, herbs, flowers, lemons or olives that you can paint yourself. Maybe a coat of arms to decorate the hood would be lovely & meaningful, also a good way to tie in all the colors in the kitchen. Good luck & I can’t wait to see what you do next.
My mom ran a school kitchen for 37 years. Her thing besides nutritional food was a variety of colors on the plates. Mother would have insisted on there being a bowl of tomatoes for a bright color, and more green! Mom has been gone awhile but even now when I think about dinner I think about color. Your kitchen is lovely and so inviting. The couch is a brilliant addition!

Love your new Kitchen, Julie! CONGRATULATIONS! ❤❤❤Keep the chairs as is except add the cushions to match the curtains! Your energy and enthusiasm is beautiful as is your spirit and personality! Love, from Tampa 😁🤗❤❤❤❤❤
I agree. While normally a blue/ green combination is one of my favorites, and on it's own the color of the sofa is lovely, I too think that the shade of blue on the sofa somehow overwhelms the kitchen. I also think that it could use more wood tones, so I am all for keeping the chairs unpainted and making matching cushions for the seats. I'm so glad you put up cafe curtains (with the help of your handsome son!) - I would need the privacy from the curious eyes of everyone passing by on the street.
I love the natural wood in the chairs and shelf above the sink... they will show even better with natural age... great idea for chair pads! you can even have 2 types of fabric, per chair pad, that will allow you to have either seasonal fabrics/colors or have once side plain texture with other side a pattern. Your kitchen is beautiful!!
Absolutely Stunning, Beautiful while rustic and organic. Perfect! Just an opinion but I love the dining chairs as they are. Just the wood as they are. Some chair pads for a pop of color and comfort. So happy for you and your family
The tiles and marble almost look like they've always been there, and they match the sage green. Love it of course! It doesn't look brand new, which is perfect for the house
Hello from a fellow Chicagoan! With a thin angled piece of trim or 45° angle routed-in track under the chestnut shelf and cabinets, you could hide some ribbons of undermounted LED strip lighting so the beautiful tiled backslash trim isn't lost in shadow.
I'm quite surprised, Julie doesn't have this led ribbon lights under shelf and cabinets over countertop. In Poland it's a standard in new or renovated kitchens. I'm also against painting the chairs. Cushions are much better idea.

@@gigivarnum Great suggestion! I have the LED strip lighting & love the soft, non-blinding light emitted. Two previous comments bear repeating: “Less is more” and “over-decorating is a thing”.🤗
@@judithhogan5812 I have them as well, just cheap ones but they have 20 color options... I like using the amber/orange tone for soothing ambient light that doesn't wake me up with blue light if I need a glass of water in the night. I actually got another kit and backlit my TV the same way so my living room/dining room/kitchen all share the vibe, and it is lovely on the lowest setting - they just live in the 'on' position. It also helps me know at a glance if the power has gone out since mine default to a rotating disco pattern if they get forced into a reset LOL.
Suggestion: Wait to decide on 6 chairs until after the horsehair chair is upholstered, the table lamps are in, the glass cupboard is filled, and the apron hook is up. Does the room need more fun colors like the horsehair chair & patterned pillow on the couch - picking up the painting’s colors or blue in the tiles & couch? Or does the room need wood dining chairs as. neutral anchors - not competing with other elements. Would white or r cream chairs with changeable cushions be nice? Maybe wait and see what you think in different light and different seasons? Good luck!
So homey, so cozy, so beautiful! The kitchen is gorgeous! I like the idea of different cushions on the chairs, and, if I may give my two cents, a few cascading plants scattered about, especially on the high window above the sink. Glad you're so comfortable, happy and completely pleased with the kitchen. 😊❤
The natural wood shelf, table & chairs, & cheese cabinet accentuate the floor which creates a pleasing balance with the painted & tiled surfaces. Multi-colored cushions sound fabulous. Beautiful cucina!
I would chalk paint the chairs in cream. I would also shorten the cafe curtain wires so the curtains hang more taut. I would move the clock to hang on the white extractor panel. The kitchen is lovely, well done and thanks for taking us on this little Italian house journey!
Having SERIOUS kitchen envy here! LOVE that old marble sink! That floor is fabulous! The soft green is much nicer than the red and white check. Those cafe curtains are superb! I did the same thing for my former kitchen! Privacy AND light! Leave the dining table chairs as they are and make chair pads only if they are too uncomfortable to sit on without them. Then, tie in the darling under-sink curtain fabric, if still available! Or, go hunting for vintage needlepoint cushion covers and customize the chair seat covers with a variety of colors and designs! Another idea would be to use your vintage linen dish towels. Mix or match as you see fit! I was able to find some vintage European linen toweling fabric and made table runners and napkins with those glorious European stripes -- green and red for holidays, blue and tan for everyday! GREAT job, Julie! You have the right to be very proud of your accomplishments with your little Italian house! Let's go shopping for a pair of incredible vintage Italian wine jugs to make those lamps!

I also think that it could use more wood tones, so I am all for keeping the chairs unpainted and making matching cushions for the seats. I'm so glad you put up cafe curtains (with the help of your handsome son!) - I would need the privacy from the curious eyes of everyone passing by on the street.
I like the idea of chair pads over painting the chairs. Love the simple meal you made! ❤
The warmth of the wood in the chairs is the perfect color already. The cushions can be where creativity can shine. Love that kitchen!
Honestly, your enthusiasm is infectious. When you get your arms swinging around (when excited) it is so fun!
Cafe curtains are clever, I've never really thought of them before
Absolutely Stunning, Beautiful while rustic and organic.
@@ewelinawu7649 clearly such modcons haven't trickled into small italian villages yet, but we'll keep offering gentle prods to help her guide them into the 21st 🤣🤣
Love the idea of the cushion pads in various fabrics; I would not paint the chairs - the entire room is PERFECT! Well done 👏❤️
Thanks so much! 😊
Good luck!
Strip and lighten the chairs and cushions are perfect.Such hard work ,love it.
I agree, lighten them up - Probably matching the natural wood shelf.
My guess is that she is staying away from plants because no one lives there to take care of them, it's sort of a vacation getaway house.
@@RichardMcGrath Good point!
The kitchen is lovely, well done and thanks for taking us on this little Italian house journey!
agree about the chairs....thought the same thing
Thank you so much what a wonderful comment to read! xx Julie
@@AmericanViscountess Your joy and enthusiasm is so heartfelt! You may not know it, but you bring that same joy to thousands of people! Watching your videos lets us all escape from the outside world! Seeing your reaction to the new kitchen now completed except for some finishing touches makes us break into an infectious grin! SOOO happy you and your beautiful family got a chance to get away into some lovely sunshine for a break! VERY well done!
No chair painting ;definitely chair pads in different fabrics 🙌🏼
Moving the cupboards was perfect 👌🏻
Your chairs already with their wood tones, match nicely with your floor tiles. They look great, and add warmth and add to the timeless look of your new kitchen.
Leave the chairs unpainted; yes to the cushions. You could even use various kitchen towels for the cushion fabric.
Hi Julie. Here from America. Love watching your channel. I have been following the restoration of your kitchen. So excited to see it completed. Wow. It is absolutely stunning. So warm and inviting. Everyone involved has done an amazing job. I would keep the chairs as is and make lovely cushions for them. Congratulations and wishing you and your family all the best in your new kitchen. Here’s to sharing wonderful meals together. Cheers
You should have cushion pads made for the chairs because they will look nice and make the chairs more comfortable to sit on. It's a very nice kitchen!
I really like the way the wood chairs accent your other wood items in your kitchen! Chair pads would look really nice. Your dress in this video is WONDERFUL! It really is beautiful and looks great on you! It has been so much fun to watch you curate your little Italian kitchen, I look forward to seeing what you will do next!!
Thank you so much!!!
I like the idea of having the cushion seats made. I like the natural wood of the chairs. Looks beautiful!
It's beautiful Julie, just wonderful! Thanks for sharing the journey with us, love all of it!

Beautiful
Don't paint the chairs, they look perfect! Great move, swapping the 2 cabinets. Looks much nicer now. What an absolutely gorgeous kitchen! Bravo!!
Thanks so much! 😊
