Avery Patrick Nintendo already patched a glitch that broke the leaderboard, the infinite jump rope one, but comment is so true! They should go patch Super Mario Odyssey glitches which break the online part of the game, instead of pathing Splatoon 2 glitches which dont even affect online
I crashed the game, clipped right outside the building then and then the special gauge was full so I used my special. The special was ink jet. For some reason special gauge stayed full so I was on my ink jet forever. I explored a lot. Then screen got messed up and there were random colors and objects everywhere. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?!
The 3D map uses number values to keep track of characters, weapons, ink positions, etc etc. So when you flew out far enough, you possibly overflowed the map tracking system, assuming that is what Nintendo is using in the game. Either way, yes, that is a glitch Nintendo has no need to protect players from, as very few will ever be able to travel far enough to break it by an overflow

What I don't get is why Nintendo made a lot of background for something that your not supposed to be able to access, and why did they make some parts of the roof physical? I feel like Nintendo did this on purpose, but ya never know.
In an earlier version the the game, using baller next to a testing dummy and a wall caused you to fall off the map and die too. This was patched a while back though.
Ok so after a few hours of trying, I have some tips. First, it has not been patched. I was able to do everything in the video. When trying to do the first jump, hold the jump button after switching weapons. I think you get another jump, but be sure to immediately go into squid form to barely catch the ledge. A beakon will not fit on the ledge. It feels faster when using the E-liter to wait for the ink to fill a bit. The full ark in front of you, and three shots over the right wall is enough to fill the special gauge. When using the jet to get onto the ducts after the first jump, you do not need to go all the way to the box. The duct perpendicular on the way has collision and is easy enough to land on. For the clip with the inkbrush, you actually do not need the brush. It is easier to use the Tenta Brella. You can use a technique similar to the one to get onto the roof. Which is squid flop, and fire. Once your down from the duct in the corner, you just need to go into squid form and try to use the sub. It won't deploy a beacon, but it will clip you down. You also don't need the beakon on the duct, but it is very difficult, and I recommend it. Some other tips is that there is only enough turf to fill three ink jet meters. Reseting will remove beakons. With a weapon with beakons, jumping to one will destroy it instantly. But without beakons, it takes two jumps to destroy it. I think that is all I want to say, as I want people to have fun with the glitch, so I won't spoil everything.
Considering Nintendo has gotten more used to the idea of players exploring areas they wouldn't normally be able to go (e.g mario odyssey and botw) I think they'll leave this in

Possibly, but the fact that you splashdown/land where you always try to go, like if you try to super jump onto a teammate while a teammate is under a roof, you won’t land on the roof.
Nailed the first part after a few tries and went to this video on advice for the second part before i went any further. Cool find, I must say, and I'm just about as surprised as anyone else on why there even is collision this high up and even out of the players' reach, let alone the scenery outside which the player, at any point, is unable to see without doing this.
After reading a few comments, many have suggested the reason for outside scenery is due to beakon jumping and the reason for collision on the piping is so long ranged weapons wouldn't just shoot right through it. Either way this glitch is still extremely cool and takes advantage of those lil details lmao
Amazingly, Nintendo NEVER patched this, and it will likely be in Splatoon 2 forever now lol. Plus, you can access this room even when your offline, so it'll always be possible, even years later when the online service inevitably closes.
Hey here’s a tip if anyone sees this: When your filling up your special for the ink jet, use the splash-o-matic. It has the least amount of points you need for filling it up (170 points for the special). And when your filling up the ink jet again right here ( 0:56 ) using the custom e-liter no scope, it will take less time filling up the special since the e-liter and the splash-o-matic have the same number of points for the special. And you wouldn’t have to shoot over the pipes (1:25) for extra points. I wrote this because I saw you were using the tentatek splattershot and that requires 210 points for the ink jet while the splash-o-matic only needs 170 points. I hope this helped anyone in the comments.

It’s March 24th of 2018 over here and I’ve done the glitch 10 to 20 minutes ago with only a few retries at the first bit. Looks like Nintendo has some mercy on the glitches.
"I got my special, but the Inkjet special requires more points." In that case, why don't you just use the Splash-o-Matic or the Octobrush, which take much less points to charge that the Octoshot's 220?

u can literally not use the inkjet. Just start a booyah bomb where WesleyMK started his inkjet. Then cancel the booyah bomb by choosing a different weapon, and you'll be on that pipe thing!
@@viktor8322 yea man, just start a booyah bomb at the area where Wesley MK started his inkjet, but a second before ur completely at the highest point possible with the booyah bomb, change weapons, and turn into a squid while pushing the L-stick forward.

It's still very doable! Here is another explanation, because I think I've mastered it. -I suggest wearing special charge up for this. First, make sure your at the exact right position, when you see you're on the last little line on the top, where he showed. Get the boost for your Inkjet and immediately press +, change your weapon to whatever, and be ready to press B, shift yourself forward a bit, and turn into a squid when you're just landing. When you wiggle your way over to that box, use the regular E-Liter Scope, as it has better range and once you fill your Raincloud you should be able to use Inkjet. Tilt yourself to the right, as shown in the video, for better perception. Wait until the Inkjet has gone a certain height and then use the boost; it should go higher to fit where you just flew. Navigate your way around and land on that large box thing, as shown. Then, use your beakons and explore! Hope this helps anyone who needs it!

i don't think they will ever patch it since it does not damage the game and it (obviously) can't be used online

wait til you're at your highest point, and then press b for the boost and immediately change the weapon. That should give you more than enough height
Or try holding b after you change ur weapon

It's still very doable! Here is another explanation, because I think I've mastered it.
-I suggest wearing special charge up for this.
First, make sure your at the exact right position, when you see you're on the last little line on the top, where he showed. Get the boost for your Inkjet and immediately press +, change your weapon to whatever, and be ready to press B, shift yourself forward a bit, and turn into a squid when you're just landing. When you wiggle your way over to that box, use the regular E-Liter Scope, as it has better range and once you fill your Raincloud you should be able to use Inkjet.
Tilt yourself to the right, as shown in the video, for better perception. Wait until the Inkjet has gone a certain height and then use the boost; it should go higher to fit where you just flew. Navigate your way around and land on that large box thing, as shown.
Then, use your beakons and explore!

For reference, the inkjet needs 180-190 points. Not sure the exact amount but it’s somewhere around that number.
