Back in the 60's when I was in school they taught all the 1'st graders on up to the seniors in the same classroom and they would play this song during take a nap time because all us kids were special.
All you wanta be country stars, pay attention here, this is real country stars giving you a free lesson, This is true country music! Got a tear in my eye listening to those awesome ladies sing.
A very pleasing tribute to one lovely and talented lady by two other lovely and talented ladies. Thank you Jeannie and Lorrie. Skeeter would have loved this.
You can’t help but sing along with these two beautiful and talented ladies. Truly the best of the best. A tender and fitting tribute to the late Skeeter Davis.
Love Jeanie Seely and grew up watching Lorrie Morgan for decades cause we are about the same age and she has one of the best voices I've ever heard!! Miss you Skeeter!!
Must have been special for both ladies, Lorrie has always looked up to Jeannie since a young girl. There voices blend so great together. Jeannies voice is so unique. Raspy and rough but so pure and authentic
She does but I have a slight preference for Jeannie Seely's voice though. I met Jeannie Seely twice and she is every bit as nice a person as she is a singer.
I practically wore my record out of "The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis when I lost my first "true love" boyfriend as a teenager. This song still gets me every time 💔 Excellent job ladies! 💋💋
We were fortunate to get to see Skeeter Davis at the Grand Old Opry once, Jeannie Seely was also there that night. I wish that we could have seen Lorrie Morgan that night too. Jeannie and Lorrie did a marvelous just on this Skeeter Davis hit 🤠
In 1966 I had a Herman's Hermits record with "The End of the World" on it. "Herman" was 18 years old, an English teenybopper idol who sang covers, and, in retrospect, he had some great tunes. We moved that year into a rental house where somebody had left behind some country records. One of them was The Davis Sisters. I think that's when I went from absent-mindedly liking the kind of country that played on pop stations in the South, to liking the kind of country you had to intend to listen to, or you never heard it.
I wish some of todays so called country female artists out of Nashville would watch this video and learn from it. It’s pure COUNTRY with great vocals and a great group of musicians. Let’s get COUNTRY back into the COUNTRY. Nashville; wake up….this is what it’s all about.
Now that is country music!
1963…I was a junior in high school and this was playing on the radio…thank you Skeeter!

It is criminal that artists like this are ignored for faux autotuned music. This was wonderful.
