This video was my interpretation of the admission assignment for an animation school in Norway, which was to make a "self portrait in any technique". I decided to make something that combined everything I can do creatively. If you hear the word "tits-machine", don't worry, it means "time machine" in Norwegian. - Lasse
This video has always stuck with me for some reason.
Indeed.. Early youtube pioneer :p and this is a very honest piece..
This part "I'm sick of sleeping, getting up, brushing my teeth, showering, eating, working, going to the toilet and going to bed.. But that's life. That's the way we made it for ourselves, but is this what we want? Is this what I want? No.." resonates so loudly with me.. I wish we could change everything..
The only part of that cycle of events that isn't absolutely - or at least highly - necessary to the living being, is working.
So creative!

I know probably this won't reach you, but I still wanted to put this out here :D I remember watching this video and generally your stuff, about 14-15 years ago and back then I was thinking that I want to be an animator too, because I wanted to do nice stuffs and maybe change the world with animation.
And here we are in 2023, I'm an accomplished 3D animator, who works their dream job. Also back at the university, where I've learned animation I met my current fiance and a bunch of friends... Long story short lots of good things happened in my life, because of you and your work. Just wanted to say thanks for it. I hope you have a nice life.

The earth was created us to befriend, not to tame.People will only achieve true meaning, true happiness when we realize what life is really all about. It's wild that this video is 16 years old. It was on my MySpace profile page, and I watched it as least once a month for years. No lie that it definitely shaped how I approach my own writing.

All I know is I got a lot of respect for Lasse as an artist. Awesome visualizations and creativity. I think his vids are some of the best on RUclips or anywhere for that matter.
