Bro you HAVE to make some ducting on the sides of the radiator to seperate the hot and cold air. You’re going to recirculate hot air from the trunk back into the radiator and fight a lot of issues. We do it in the fd cars and it’s a MUST. Keep up the good work boys
Love how thought out everything is. Jimmy and the gang knows how to build a car. Spoon is to legit definitely the missing piece jimmy was missing super glad he’s stuck around and they all get along and vibes are good
I feel the pain of all the money going out for the pro car, but I, for one, think you are at the level that you can compete and do well. I feel like it was money well spent, and can't wait to see you ripping around in your favorite chassis with the big boys.
Those pads have a great bite when they are warm, but initial bite isn't great. The Hawk HPS may have been a better choice, but time will tell! The HP+ is a hell of a pad though. I've been using the HP+ for about 10 years for autocross, but the first couple times you hit the brakes on track they don't do anything. This is with Chase Bays full manual brakes on my GC8 impreza with gobs of left foot braking.
So they sell actual caps for where the ujoint meets the diff it's like most trucks tbh I personally don't know how much I trust the little ubolts compared to caps just simply because of surface area of contact and clamping down. The progress on this thing Is phenomenal cannot wait till next episode. Maybe this car build will be the one that brings us closer to 1 million subs
the caps are just stamped metal, actually fairy flimsy. The u-joint straps Jimmy used are a big upgrade, the pinion yoke will fail before the straps break....
I’d suggest getting dry break connectors on your brake lines and having a set of replacement calipers for when your in comp, and you wreck a corner easier to swap out
i dunno man, its getting kinda repetitive. "Hey guys i bought another S13/14/15 and we're gonna drift it....eventually" all the really fun projects get the least coverage. Both Z's are garage queens, he sold the supra and the JZ-FD, the rhd e36 is always broken, the e30 is rarely seen, the kei trucks are broken, his widebody FRS is gonna be a garage queen as well after a couple drift events next year... the list goes on. But, Its the interaction between the crew that keeps me coming back. I've been watching Jimmy since he daily drove a slammed WRX (those wheels are now on the widebody FRS lol) and worked out of his moms garage. Mans come a long way!
ruddys a loser, i stopped watching him after i realized hes never grown up. makes the same bad choices over and over and always has someone else to blame.
22:51 Coming from the drag racing world, I'm amazed that on this level of car a driveshaft safety loop doesn't seem common at all. It seems like cheap insurance to me to keep the driveshaft from coming through the floor if you ever have a failure especially with the constant abuse the drive shaft takes with all of the constant clutch kicking and handbrake directly back to the gas on a sticky tire with lots of mechanical grip dialed into the chassis set up. It looks like there are even some Factory holes that you could easily fabricate one to both directly into.
What up jimmy happy holidays to you and your family thank you for all the great entertainment this year you deserve all the success you have achieved you’re a good dude
dude i have the manual dual piston for my silvia, it feels like garbo, i use the chasebays lines, recommended pad even tried stock pads. bled my system like 15 times and even got a shop to suction bleed them. do you have a secret sauce i want to love them but i have no confidence in stopping. need to put like 100 kg of force to stop quickly
Took me a full week to start feeling better , Get well soon lad 🤞 I wish you wrote out a list on a white board or on the Windscreen so you can tick off all the things youve done 🎉
Had Hawk HP+ Pads on my C5… definite adjustment period but, man they were sweet once I got used to them. Wonder how Z32 Calipers will run. Hella dust tho, gotta clean your wheels like every 2 drives. Don’t fall behind on that, if that dust cooks on it’s a pain to get off.
Hawk HP+ pads are badass. I forget if I went with Hawk for my current pads, but I have some kind of carbon ceramics or something on there currently. They bite really well.
I personally have swapped all of my u joint straps to the through bolt style with heavy Jeep wheeling on 40's. once I swapped, I never broke another strap/strap bolt
When we went manual brakes on our s15 pro am car it needed more aggressive bite pads to feel "normal" The car had a willwood bbk and STILL needed more aggressive pads
Its a diesel shaft yoke basically lol my duramax has a 6.5 aluminum shaft, same rear yoke setup. I just put a billet rear yoke in a posi for my dads duramax and those are wild
Would love a video of spoons welding gear and his set up and what he uses if at all possible been looking at that same welding hood but I’m scared I won’t like it I’m very picky on if the auto dark is tru blue and not that filtered green bs
Love the vids requesting is300 content I have one and there's just not much on RUclips about building them legit and I feel like it's a great budget platform
CarbonLorean Make the best Brake pads, we use them in Tarmac Rallying none come close they are like 250 for a set of pads Years of trying all sorts of Pads Forodo pads used to be the shit but CL pads are on another level
Please please please make these build episodes 40 minutes +! Such good information

Hopefully laps in the warm up box will be enough to get them up to temp
Spoon got the gates "REROOTED" got me dying....... "REROUTED" Jimmy, lol.

The clamp only keeps the u joint in place. The torque is all transfered through the yoke. Looks sketch but it works

Nice ChaseBays showcase. I’ve gotten some of their gear along with radium just from watching this channel. The build quality is just phenomenal.

Why am i thinking that jimmy is going to compete in drift games this incoming season with dave
Drift masters*
Dave v Jimmy. Both newbs but have the potential
@Smokey7186 jimmy is the better driver imo and thanks for the name correction
As good as it would be, I can’t see them getting rid of Conor falvey he’s a great driver also
I'm not sure if you've gone over it but doesn't a pro car need a drive shaft loop?
Yes, it is a requirement for FD.
FD Spec? Yes.
Exactly what I came here, to say, I thought the same fit FD, whether pro or pro-spec, thought they needed them?
We need an appearance from THE MAN STEVIE

Does FD require you to have a Drive shaft safty hoop in case the drive shift lets go?
Did that kit come with the relocation bracket to change the pedal ratio from going to power to manual!? I might just buy this

A small cnc would be perfect for all the small brackets you guys make. Throw in a belt sander too and its game over.
You guys should do a bloopers video. Cause I’m sure there some things on video that ya don’t show that would be hilarious to watch.
about time you figured out how to stay consistent and actually finish something you started

Do you need a driveshaft loop in these cars? 🤔
Deff need a drive shaft loop just for safety as much as your pushing this car
