I fully expect MaXXXine to be a success so I assume we'll get a fourth. If it does happen, my guess is the story would go back in time again and take place after the events of Pearl. We'll see more of her descent and how Howard tolerates it. Something along those lines.
That being said, I'd be more than happy if they end it here.

Middle aged pearl in the 4th movie. Maxine is a success but pearl ends up the opposite
