@@stevenbaker9327 takes longer to get the things on properly than the fix takes half the time. I mean if I'm busting out the 4 foot snipe on the 2 foot extension I'll throw some actual mechanics gloves on for a minute so my hands don't get bashed to hell when it breaks loose and your Knuckles go crashing into the concrete. Latex won't help ya there. Then I promptly take em off

I'd take any one of them sleds right now and have her on the mountain by thi# time next week. There steals of a deal if it's truthful. Part I don't like is it just says I paid 250 for this. Most ppl recorded the interaction and barter process. Has me a lil suspicious I must say. And it's abandoned but you found the owner and paid for it somehow and got a title. IIM just not sure if a abandoned sled why the heck you wouldn't film that. Funny business. Add a 1 in front of them numbers. Watch the cheap sled challenge on sxs blogs channel. You'll see nothing cheap nowadays. And they were all sitting for 10 to 20 years too

@@NightshiftCustom You have to shim your clutch Sheeves to the belt. Gates is a far better belt durometer wise. The same would happen with Dayco or Ultimax. You must shim the clutchs to the belts as they are not exactly the same Measurements as a factory belt. And if they are not lasting more then 10 to 15 min. Something is wrong with your clutches or your not braking in the belt. I can Toss a 320 dollar belt on and roast it in 5 min if You don't warm them up or adjust your clutchs. Just stumbled across your channel, and enjoying the content. Learned something years ago regarding recoils. That little square notch in the wheel is used to wind the rope back in. Put it together, with no spring tension, and connect the rope. Put a knot on the outside of the recoil to keep it from pulling through, then pull a length of rope through that square slot, then holding the rope, just wind up the spool. When you get to where you want, pull the rope to pull the slack out, and let it wind itself back up.

Hi ! glad to see that V-Max 500 ! I have a V-MAX XTC 700 tripple 1998 sleeping in storage since around 2011 ! will it still run ? I have the same problem ! yes , the recoil is due for changing ! it broke when i was on the trail alone in the woods ! So i fixed it McGiver style ! So it pulls and starts the engine when it s cold but when it s warmed up from riding it doesn t catch ( hook ) and i need to wait till it cools off then it hooks on and i can pull the cord and get going ! I like that sled ! I put new parts on it just before parking it ! the seat is new, the heated handles, the carbides, the track, the wheel bearings, so i guess a good tune-up would do the trick and ready to ride for next winter ! now i m retired i have time to go for rides any given day ! The only problem now is that it s in storage in Edmonton, AB. and i m around Montreal. QC. only 3,800 km away ! LoL. 😎
