    What I really love about the maps in BO1 is how they take inspiration from the campaign:
    Five = U.S.D.D. (Duh)
    Ascension = Executive Order (Russian Cosmodrome)
    Call of the Dead = Project Nova (crashed ship in the ice)
    Shangri La = Payback (beautiful jungle setting)
    (Those last three are spaced evenly 4 missions apart)
    And Moon is like the total inverse of Redemption cause as you descend to the bottom of the ocean to destroy the broadcast station in the campaign, zombies takes you as far high as you could possibly go

    I miss being bad and dying on round 5, something about the mystery of what was happening in the maps, always wondering what was behind that next door, always wondering what new crazy weapon was in the box, and coming to realization on what those colorful soda machines with the catchy jingles actually did. Those where the times where zombies was mysterious and honestly...Kind of scary, something about sitting in that main menu strapped to that chair, watching the room go red as you hear the zombies theme with banging on the window where Hudson was once looking down upon you at, and seeing TV screens showing where there was zombie outbreaks around the world and seeing people being experimented on, it was a full blown nightmare...A nightmare that I wish I could have again.

      Kinda interesting how your perception of those exact same zombies years is the polar opposite of mine. I felt like a pro back in the days, none of my core zombies memories are about how I didn’t yet understand something. Maybe that’s just because I played a lot more zombies than you so if I played 500 separate games the vast majority I knew what I was doing. Modern warfare came out when I was about 19 and into adulthood, so I only played a reasonable amount. By the time black ops hit, I was in my 20s and full time into a career. By that time I didn’t own a console anymore. In my late 20s I picked it back up around Infinite warfare time. But all 3 black ops totally slipped by me.

The amount of all nighters spent playing ascension and call of the dead especially with my friend will be something I’ll always fucking cherish. It’s crazy to think that if it wasn’t for world at war I wouldn’t have found something I’d grow to adore all the way through to my adulthood. Sometimes I wish I could go back and not get so invested in it so the disappointments of vanguard and even CW (to much less of an extent) wouldn’t genuinely make me so sad but that wouldn’t be worth losing the decade of great memories I made throughout the entire Aether storyline and yes that includes black ops 4.

    I remember the first time I played black ops. It was at a friends house and I later begged my parents to let me get it. After a few weeks they caved in and I spent years playing Kino with my dad. We got good at it, getting to around round 50 every game. It was a family tradition for a while to play a game of zombies every night. Later on I played with my little brothers and taught them all the skills and secrets my dad showed me when I was 9 years old trying to play. It was a whole different time and place then. Black ops will always hold a special place in my heart for the years of enjoyment I got out of it. One day I hope I can get a working ps3 and replay one of the games that shaped my childhood.

    Man there are two games I wish i could go back and reexperience for the first time again. DayZ on my first computer. And BO1. The amount of nights I would be up until 2 or 3 in the morning play Ascension with the boys. Kino has the argument of best zombies map ever. Five, I loved for whatever reason. But even beyond zombies, i loved playing multiplayer nuketown snipers only. Wager matches. Combat training for stupid competitions with friends. The game covered all the bases and is to this day my favorite COD.

      This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20.
      Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
      Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

    I started playing cod with WAW half way through BO1's life cycle. I played the zombies and absolutely loved it, eventually begging for BO1 and BO2 which I got mid way through the next black ops release respectively. Each time I got my hands on a cod game despite being late to the party I was still playing in order for the most part. Especially for zombies which is my favorite side mode in any video game of all time. Only runner up in my mind would have to be Beast mode in Gears of War 3. So these retrospectives are very interesting to me. They cover parts of the time I both was and wasn't playing the games for, and that makes it specifically peculiar for me to try to relate my own experiences with these videos. Usually I already knew most zombies strats for the next cod game before I got it thanks to RUclips. So I would really just try to practice them as I waited for my mom to get me the next edition of my favorite FPS game for most of my childhood. Thanks for the video man, really had me feeling those same feelings from almost a decade ago now in some places.

    I had not played too many video games in my years. I was 40 years old at the time and was hanging out at my fellow Army friend's house playing multi player with him, that I sucked at because I didn't play video games. A couple games in and I am bored of playing now. My friend and I are at the menus and notice a zombie mode. I ask him what that is and he has no idea. So we end up playing 4 games on Kino before we realized you can actually open the doors.
    Right after that I buy my first video console ever, and me and this friend are up playing video games almost every single night when our wifes would go to bed. My fondest memory is making round 40 on Kino at 4am and then realizing that we have to be at work in 2 hours. The next day was rough to say the least. We both had to find an empty office and crash around lunch because we were so tired that day.
    This continued for years until we both retired from the Army. We both were so addicted to zombies for years. This was some of the best times of my life. We have slowed down in our playing time these days, but we still occasional will get back into it. I would say that me and him played for about 10 years before we finally slowed down our playing. Great memories and times for sure.

Monkey gun cross bow anyone!! Mustang and sally. Ganging up and killing George with the sickle. Hunting easter eggs. Getting all the perks when you complete the easter egg and going for high round. It is the best Zombies game from Call of Duty, Even BO3 slightly fumbles a bit in focus and tone in comparison. BO1 was perfectly dark and gritty, had the best gun sounds imo, solid maps throughout, not too complex to navigate the maps, and was actually about zombies, not weird alien creatures from different dimensions. Best songs too, Elena Siegman is an angel with her captivating voice that is criminally underrated.
