Lol! the cathedral thing cracked me up. I'm going there this fall (2018-2021) and i'm super nervous moving thousands of miles away from home for the first time. :/
Kateryna Harkusha I’m not going yet but yes I’m saving up I’m going in 2026 Ik it’s a long time from here but I have been saving up for it and I wish you good luck I hope you make it 😊
Hi Jodie This is really helpful I am looking to come to Plymouth in September for Data Science and Business Analytics. How easy is it to get jobs as a student?
Hi Jodie! I'm planning for the January intake. Just curious and excited to study. Gonna be a culture shock since its a new place new environment new climate new people and also my English isn't good lol going to be a challenge but accepted. Your support would be really appreciated. 😊🙏
@Ashutosh chatterjee.. when did you apply to the university when u received the offer. Can we please connect brother . I applied to the same university.
Dan smithy as someone who has just completed a degree at Plymouth, I can say University rankings make no difference to your experience. The rankings are just another stupid way for Universities to brag about who is better. It’s all about the feel of the place and if you like your surroundings. I went to an open day at Portsmouth and it was really run down and grim - so I didn’t care if it was higher in the rankings to be honest.
I am deciding between anglia Ruskin university, Plymouth and Lincoln for animal Behaviour but I have two years until I will be starting Uni so I’m fine for now but I wondered whether you had any comments on this course or not I certainly love the accommodation at Plymouth
I don’t know the ins and outs of the course but my friend did it and loved it and now she works at a Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall! Two years is still quite a while so you’ve got ages to make sure you make the right decision 😊
There part time work available, it may be harder in the short term because of Covid so not as much at first but the University and the Students Union also have part time work which is really helpful and works around your studies. There is a great International team there too, I work for Student Services which works along side them (and also worked with them for a year). They are super friendly and helpful. There is a group for international students also where you can meet others in a similar position and also everything else that is for all students. We also had movie nights every month (before Covid) for any international student and some trips to other cities. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask anything else x
@@michellefrost85 Wow, thanks so much for this. This is so encouraging and soul lifting. Am a Nigerian who just got an offer to study adult nursing in September of this year. Have been bothered about accommodation and a part time job and not knowing anyone in Plymouth, have wondered how I will cope but your comment has put me at ease a bit.... Thanks so much 🥰
@@remilekunolusanmi5684 Congratulations! It can be very daunting going to a new place and not knowing anyone but even in these current times with Covid there are still ways to reach out to other people. We have Global buddies where you can meet like minded people (on zoom currently). The Student Union societies still do events online and I fully recommend getting involved in activities that UPSU.COM put on. And like I said before if you have any worries or questions then Student Services are there to help you along your journey. Keep safe.
@@remilekunolusanmi5684 hello Remi, did you go to Plymouth? Are you still there? How’s the experience been so far? I’m a Nigerian and in the same shoes you were in last year
I'm thinking of applying for Network system engineering Msc. Currently there is nothing mentioned about this course on their website. All is there about induction about september intake. I'm unable to find out modules covered. I was only able to download a pdf file mentions about the topics covered. Will I have lab sessions for Masters as well ?
Hi um, I can’t afford it I got accepted in 2018 but even to this day I still can’t get any means of funding, I’ve got no parental support, my go fund me isn’t performing well my sponsorship letters are unanswered most of them, the messages didn’t work either, didn’t make enough from my job you know it’s only me and I did everything I could I guess I just have to look at pictures and videos of Plymouth 😔

Hey what accommodation would you recommend for first year student who doesn’t know anybody 😭😭
St Thomas court is awesome..discovery too is good as it's almost inside the uni but expensive..St Thomas court is best value of money
Hey I'm From Sri Lanka. I will going to plymouth university in 2022 September. Wish me Luck. And do you have any advise?
Just enjoy it and take every opportunity! 😊
Hey u got interview?
For which course?
Are students allowed to do part time jobs? I'm coming to Plymouth for my final year
Yeah 😊
Yep, I worked with their events team. Great fun! Money wasn’t bad either for part time work.
I'm really torn between Plymouth, Portsmouth and Bristol (UWE)
I would say Plymouth but that’s me being bias tbh 😂 I guess just weigh up the pros and cons of each and pick the one that is best for you
Plymouth or Portsmouth
Got an unconditional from Portsmouth so I’m taking that, Plymouth does look awesome though!
Portsmouth is better Uni than Plymouth - higher ranker in guardian and uni rankings 2019

What would you say is the best hall that’s not that expensive
I didn’t stay in halls so cannot advise, sorry!

Is plymouth a safe city for International students and will there a availability of part time jobs for International students
It's definitely very safe for international students, never felt unsafe even at 3 am. there's a lot of part-time jobs especially on campus
