Good afternoon, I have been watching your tutorials. I have ordered napkins and am doing some Christmas Projects as gifts, specifically tile coasters. I was wondering what you use as a "heatproof" top coat to prevent hot cups from reactivating the glue. Your work is beautiful! I can't wait to get started.
Hi Angela! I only use my coasters for cold or I flip them over and use the cork side. The sealants that seems to be the most popular are “high-heat” clear engine spray. I have used this but has a strong odor so must be done outside. Polyvine is the better sealant because it is low odor and heat resistant. It’s expensive and not easy to find. It’s the Polyvine formula with the 3 shells on the label. Here’s a tip, do NOT put Mod Podge on top as that seems to be part of why hot cups stick. We have a RUclips channel as well (Not craft related) so I know it is a challenge to make sure you get to the questions asked but It is appreciated when we do. Thanks for the tips. So when you say don't put Mod Podge on top of the "sealer" that is understandable as that would defeat the purpose of "sealing it" for heat; however; can I mod podge the finished coaster...let completely dry then seal with protective sealer. I was hoping too use the extreme glitter for a few of "my" coasters then seal with a protective sealer. Again. Thanks for all you do and your very informative videos.

I would not put Mod Podge on top if you want to use them for hot cups, even before the sealant. Don’t put MP on top. You can get extreme glitter in paint form instead of glue. Polyvine is a brush-on sealant and the formula I use has 3 shells on the label
These are all beautiful! I'm new to napkinizing and I was wondering if you use that waterpen for all your "fussy cutting". It looks like it would be much easier and quicker then cutting with scissors. I would love to see what you make with the full barn napkin.
Mostly I use the water brush, fussy cutting is not often used in my projects. You will I use it in most of my videos. I love the barn napkin and I hope to have time to at least frame it. Thank you for watching! 🙂 Joan
