Friggin hell. This stage. This was the first stage I ever played in this game. And this was my first megaman game I’d ever owned to boot. (I had played bits and pieces of the NES game through...other means.) quite an introduction. I remember stubbornly making my way though this stage only to finally fight Fireman and think to myself “This is impossible!”. (I was like, 8 or 9 at the time.) Thankfully, I learned about weapon weakness not long after. And this was usually my 2nd stop when playing the game. Good times.
Rockman World 1/Wily's Revenge has uneven difficulty, with stages that test even seasoned players, let alone little kids. Granted that not playing to show off skill, but not having played this game in years really shows how tough this one is. Moreso than most other Megaman games, the order you approach stages really matters here, as the Ice Slasher and Fire Wave are nearly essential tools to pick up as soon as you possibly can. Still, wanted to do something for the GameBoy's 30th anniversary and thought of one of my old favorite games deserves tribute with an entire audio overhaul.
