@JamesTheTurnbull Because accountability doesn't start with the actual perpetrators, it gets passed down to someone else. The industry is rotten to the core, and Tango was just another casualty in a long line of dead studios that suffered at the hands of pompous publishers.
Since nobody will bother to check the comments: Dante and Bayonetta share the similar "opposite to each other" characteristics akin to that of Sonic & Blaze, albeit with better writting... If I had a nickel for every wanted crossover between: a Breakdancing Trickster, and a Hot Witch, I would have two nickels. Odd since both -Bayonetta- and Blaze The Cat, are _owned by Sega._ **I blame BeeG for this revelation** Edit: Sega published Bayonetta 1, Platinum Games actually owns her...
The bittersweet irony about the whole situation is the games anti-soulless corporation narrative. X-Box praised the game looking solely at the profits, then did the exact thing the devs were likely inspired into mocking corps for
While MS is at fault here (releasing a game like this exclusively on Xbox) I'd argue gamers are as well. Gamers always talk about wanting unique games or new IPs but when we finally get them barely anyone wants to buy and support them. The angry reactions to the summer game show and state of play should tell you that gamers only care about AAA games and established IPs.
Hi-Fi Rush is a video game. It's obviously many other things: a love-letter to rock music, cel-shaded animation, early 2000s animated series, rhythm and beat them up games... But most importantly, it's a video game. No soulless open-world bullshit with a million side-quests, no microtransactions, no grinding that's here only to make the game longer, no feeling like the game is just an interactive movie with sequences you could barely qualify as gameplay. Hi-Fi Rush is just a video game that remembers to be fun. And when they give us the one thing we players wanted, they created the hope that maybe we'd see more games like this, only to crush it and make us realise that none of it matters to them. Hi-Fi Rush's story, as typical as it may be (the usual trope of a group of rebels who rise against the man who has all the powers and defeat him with their passion and solidarity), now resonates louder than it ever has given the fact that its studio was closed by a bigger entity. We need to make more games like Hi-Fi Rush to show the entire industry that we refuse to take their bullshit anymore. Passion should always prevail over greed. Love Hi-Fi Rush. Love Tango. Fuck Microsoft.
Tango Gameworks has made some of my favorite games of all time from the two Evil Within games, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Hi Fi Rush. Truly a studio with bright ideas and even brighter developers. Microsoft is a soulless, greedy corporation that kills innovation
The only silver lining is that at least we actually got to play this masterpiece as opposed it being cancelled during development like MS did with Scalebound.
Hopefully, the developers that were let go can form a new studio and make something as stylish as this. It would be nice if they could just buy the rights of Hi Fi Rush, Ghost Wire Tokyo, and the Evil Within series, but we all know how greedy Microsoft is. That will never happen. We lost 2 great Studios in May 2024. Tango Gameworks and Roll 7
Knowing Microsoft, something like IP rights still need to ask Bethesda then to Microsoft. They had a budget and with that gone thanks to Microsoft, making a new studio will be difficult.
Don’t forget, Sony immediately backed off from trying to ruin Helldivers 2 for profit after people started review-bombing in protest. Complain, make a mess, try and ruin the day of the people who made sure this game couldn’t get a sequel. It DOES make a difference.
A year ago I cried at the ending, not because it was sad, but because I loved these characters so much and it sucks that I wasn't going to see them again (for a while)...now this has a whole new meaning😢
this is what happens when an industry gets so big that the people in charge stop being consumers of that product and instead become greedy business grads who only ever see numbers on a graph

@@henpaidesu It's not that they're not dedicated, indie devs don't usually have the budget that the big studios have. Which is why Tango works is such a loss, one of the few big studios that were willing to put so much dedication and love into their games without asking for anything else.

You gotta stand your ground because this game was made despite the current state of the gaming industry, despite the dick bag execs. It makes the story of the game so much more impactful. Art is not dead. Human expression is not dead. We just gotta keep fighting for it, in our cool and awesome way.
The devs really made something that was too cool for this cruel world. Modern masterpiece in a time where the triple A is afraid of taking risks. I really hope these amazing devs can make the best out of yet another amazing studio being shut down, time and time again.
I am sure most people here are aware that Tango Gameworks have been picked up by Krafton, and Hi-Fi Rush will all-most definitely get a sequel. It may be lackluster compared to the first we love so much, it may miss that small bit of magic that the first game had, but the developers seem eager to try new things with the IP so I can only say that while I'm anxious for what's to come, I'm also pumped to say that beats are back on the menu, people!

The day this game came out it shined the brightest, something that genuinely deserved the world and then some. It's really just not fair but if DMC can finally come back, then I hope Hi-Fi rush can come back one day too.
This is the first time an edit made me feel like I need to cry to let the emotions out. Hi Fi Rush is what inspired me to play rhythm based games to learn and hopefully one day make my own rhythm based game. It's why all of sonys big aaa games all flopped the mass market doesn't want them. These corporations do stuff we don't like but they saw the tides turning before we did. Sony going into aa projects could possibly mean the return of long forgotten ips, but I won't get my hopes up. Again the current new mass market doesn't want these kinds of games. I will never forgive Microsoft for close tango gamerwork, i'm sad that we never have a hi fi rush sequel because of this.
They may not have been with us long, but in the end, they were true rockstars.
What an epitaph for Tango Gameworks: we made one of the best games of all time, and it was just a game about music.

This is the year of not only many beloved RUclipsr Retirements, but this also a Year of Intense Corporate Greed. WB Shuts-down Rooster Teeth, and Microsoft Shutters beloved game studios to “cut-costs”
HFR is one of my favorite games ever. Hearing the news saddened immensely, specially after knowing that they were planning a sequel for the game. Thank you, Tango. At least you went out with a bang.
Fooly Cooly!!!
I’m gonna miss the game when I die.
I’ll be happy enough just buying it on every system I have that it’s on.
Rest In Peace Rocker Boy, ya did good 🙌🏾

This video made me happy at first, then you made me super depressed at the end. Thank you, and Tango Gameworks for making a game that rocketed to my top 2 favorite game of all time, it's been a rythmic ride.
