    I have played this with at least 5 different bands. It never sounds bad, no matter what skill level of band is playing it. It's simple and incredibly effective. I miss playing with bands so much.

    Nice meaty clarinet at the end. I could taste the prime rib. In other words... a proper Shenandoah ending. Great flute Rondo also.

    When the flute play is it a solo or a soli

    • @llininger6805
      @llininger6805 5 лет назад +3

      It is a solo at/around 2:00, and flute section (3 parts, I believe) at/around 6:30.

    Not to be rude, but why is your entire flute section playing the trio at 41?

    • @beverlylowak6004
      @beverlylowak6004 6 лет назад +7

      As a former flute section leader in the ASB, I can tell you that the conductor preferred the lush sonority of a flute choir and felt it balanced more effectively with a large symphonic band.

    • @kristiwilson4789
      @kristiwilson4789 5 лет назад +5

      Frank liked it that way...but I think it's probably because he knew we might have gone on strike if we all didn't get to play. 😀 We divided it up 1 2 3 throughout the section instead of regular part assignment.

      i agree, the flutes were too much in my opinion.
