I wish someone just made an HT ham that was also able to receive all the bands but not transmit on the low or high 800 etc. ...I don't understand why not
I live in Alaska and spend a lot of time indoors DAAAAHHH! so I ordered one of these. I only have 12 volt here so this covers instalation needs and has way more than I need here in frequencies. I don't think trunking is even here yet. We still use paper ballots at elections LOL. Looks pretty foolproof and will pickup pretty much anything frequency wise. I am looking forward to it's arrival.
What I got out of this video is, "When all else fails, read the instructions." 3 hours to program? No way. I have seen the demo on here and it would take about 1 minute to program 1 channel. "Choose band. Scroll to frequency. Push enter. Repeat. Enjoy your scanner guys. I like sarcastic frequencies. No digital but analog for smaller towns police, fire, ambulance, etc. It be nice if it had battery use.

Yes as long as your not fiddling with it while your driving. Of course you'd never do that. It's not a radar detector. It would be useful to get timely road, weather conditions and to know where your friends are stopping for lunch..

So I am not sure what's going on :( Someone from amazon said "A lot of times police bands are digital or encrypted or both. This scanner won't be able to decode it in that case. If it was 10 years ago you would have no shortage of signals to listen to. It changed when a few idiots decided to transmit on police bands and redirect them away from where they were going. So they took steps and converted to digital trunking, making it much harder for people to interfere."

Nails on a chalkboard or a fork scratching against a dinner plate doesnt bother me as much as hearing someone eat like a pig or chew with their mouth open.. Makes my skin crawl!

Despite, the somewhat rough nature of the video. The BC355N, is a good scanner, especially in the NB version..

I got the same scanner as well 2 SDS 100 SDS 200 a 996p2 a TRX 1 & 2 and a Home PATROL 2

I'm trying to get 476.8375 to come in. I've got it programmed but it's all static all the time. Any suggestions?
Make sure the squelch knob (the one above the volume knob) is turned up. If it's turned all the way down, you'll only hear static. Hope this helps!
