Just ordered one on the strength of your review -I wanted the ubc125, but just out of my price range at the moment ,so hopefully this will suffice as I am close to 3 airports, 2 big cities and a couple of towns, and there are many civilian aircraft around here. Nice to see a good video on this radio with the air band operating in the UK. How do you get on with the speaker being mounted underneath the radio? 73 Adam
Is it just airband frequencys you can pick up these days with this scanner as it has 8.33 steps? There's step changes of 25 khz now . Can you still get 2 meter band?
Ive just bought this 355 scanner,the coast gaurd 156000 just constant noise no matter how high squelch is set its pain in the arse when scanning,ive looked at 156000 on baofeng no noise,any ideas why its constant noise on 355 ?
Hi Although I live in a different part of the UK I always have problems with Coast Guard channel 0 and invariably have to leave it out of a scan as it always stops the scanning. Doesn't matter what radio I use. So maybe some common household appliance interferes on channel 0.......
I sold my old analogue realistic PRO2006 scanner some years ago and couldn't give it away, now they're fetching upwards of £80. Ide rather buy one of these new for the same money. I wonder how they compare reception wise?
You cant beat the old classic radio's, but what it is, a lot of people have emotional and memories of the good old day's and the radio's they used at the time. Personally I like the old radio's better for that reason. This is a entry level scanner and its mostly down to antenna, location and height...I'd recommend a Uniden UBC125XLT you can even listen to the RAF on that....however please bear in mind analogue is slowly fading out with a lot turning to analogue. Digital scanners are really expensive. The market for radios are s niche market now hence price.
Hi there you said you can’t actually physically type in the frequency however you didn’t mention the step frequency capability. If you know the exact frequency you should be able to use the step frequency eg 2 KHz, 5Khz, 10 KHz, 15 KHz etc and the up & down keys. Can you please confirm this.
Hi, you paid half price roughly, with things now dramatically gone up in price since the pandemic this is resealable but should be in good condition with the box and all the accessories in. Hope this helps

I plan to use it to listen to CB, AIR, Railways, Hams, Ham repeaters and PMR. What antenna would you recommend? I know a discone is the best choice but I can't find such an antenna in my country unfortunately...
@@coroamanicolai4527 the telescopic antenna is rubbish anyway...I was going to say a discone...Sky scanner is good but you'll be surprised with the wire antenna that comes with it

You can select all or one specific band spectrum....your best bet is to use the wire antenna for now, press say like air frequency then it will scan, then once received a signal, press hold then store it, then move on to say ham bands etc, instead of all the bands as it's a slow scan. Cheers

@@simonsupersi2225 on analogue unfortunately no, unless you like to listen to planes. Most have gone digital now but digital scanners are dear...your best getting an SDR scanner. You haven't been able to listen to Police since very early 00s

Its not like the good old days of the 70 80 90s etc. To be honest they ain't that much to listen to anymore on Analogue scanning as alot are going digital, even pub watch but digital scanners are expensive. You can do Marine, air, CB, and Amatuer band...just not Military....yes the 2m is on there

Yes, however you can't physical push in a number frequently, it does have a step menu, 73
