Been a casual viewer of your channel for years, but I subbed today because of this video. This isn't a video about mounts. It's a slice of life. I appreciate you sharing your story and, as someone who lost his father a few years ago and still struggles with it sometimes, I think it's great to share and remind us all that it's ok to not be ok about it. I very much understand preferring mounts with stories attached to them. I don't buy mogstation mounts primarily because there's nothing interesting attached to just buying something with money. The unlockable mounts almost always have a story, whether it's the grind, an immense scavenger hunt, or the overcoming of a challenge. I like collecting mounts for this reason, so whenever I press mount roulette, I can be reminded of what it took to get it and show others what I've been through, in a sense. Thank you for sharing your mount stories.
The Nightmare Story was great! lol I think for me living the Lala life I'm a huge fan of the small mounts and they just make you feel like you are seriously ZOOMING as a lala! I'd say my favs would be Witch's Broom, Direwolf, Gobwalker(for the music) and my top mount is Big Shell! Seriously, as a Lalafel just hop on the Big Shell crab mount and run around for like 2 minutes. You feel like you are CRUISING and the little clicky noise the feet make as they patter around is so satisfying! hahaha

But yeah, I just wanted to add my appreciation for making, editing and releasing this video. There are a lot of youtubers, even those who are already absurdly famous and rich, who. whore out and embellish their personal life for views. This on the other hand wasn’t clickbait, had no clickbaity image or crop of your face crying or sad, stuck to the topic and launched into it almost right away, and yet was a take on the topic that really is personal and heartfelt and could’ve only been made by one person. I've been focusing on Bozja partially as a leveling resource while I get all my jobs to 80 for the Amaro mount, but I REAAALLY want the Ozma mount, so I'm gonna get back into Eureka eventually and hope it won't be too painful finding parties lol

For me it was at the end of Shb, during the content drought, Aether was pretty active with BA, and we ran like 2 back-to-back runs and we got the clear at like 3am my time, i had to call in sick from work the next day but man the organisation from the Aether discord was so good. It really felt like when i was a kid going to camp and going on an adventure 😅
I recently lost my father (2 years) I don’t know if it will ever not feel recently….i also help my mother a lot right now and have gotten some really lucky deals along the way. All I can say brother that’s you father watching over your family and with all his energy is doing what he can from where he is to help you mr family out. You deserve everything you have keep it up I’m sure he’s proud of you 👍

For someone who never did Eureka, how horrible/complicated would it be to get the Ozma mount today? I really want this mount, but have no idea how deep into Eureka you have to go to get to the point of doing the content where it drops.
Join the appropriate discord servers (e.g. "late night" for specific datacenter) and show up when one is scheduled. Got mine like a month ago. Still favourite mount and couldnt be happier
For Ozma itself, there are communities across the data center that manage Baldesion Arsenal runs, so actually getting the mount is fairly structured. To get to that point however, you have to do *all* of Eureka. Before you start, I would highly recommend two things~ Buy 2 cryptic seal if you plan to run DoW or 3 Damascene Cloth if you plan to run DoM. You can trade these in to an NPC near entrance to Eureka in Kugane for a Kirin's Osode of fending/maiming/etc. or a Vermillion Cloak of healing/casting. You can also buy the gear from the MB, but the trade-in mats are usually cheaper. These items have bonus Eureka only stats that just make things a bit more comfy. They tend not to be too expensive, and Eureka contains a fair few items that you can sell and more than recoup the costs. Do your challenge logs. If you don't feel up to hard grinding Eureka, particularly Anemos, It's worth popping in and doing your clogs for some chunky EXP and coming back next week. EXP comes a bit more easily in zones 2-4, and plenty of Eureka communities have people more than willing to help power level someone, but if you don't have time to commit to the grind, clogs are a good steady path forward.
Oh wow the number 2 I get you. When my dad passed away we where still into Shadowbringers and I clung to the song Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Listened to it on loop and even now that song makes me feel a lot.

Glad you have the memories. It's a good reason for liking any mount or minion. For me, I *had* to get the Starbird mininion. The story affected me so much over so long. Took me 78 runs, but I have it.
@@Mrhappy1227 It's basically all I do, being an old curmudgeon with lousy reflexes and memory. Variant dungeons are very much a challenge for me as well... still, the more I do them the tactics get burned into muscle memory eventually.
I did Eureka with my friends just for Demi-Ozma, made the experience a lot more bearable. I dunno if it's still one of the more rare mounts in game but hey, it was certainly worth it to get it. It also helped that we were all working on a relic weapon at the time
Hm, this was a bit more emotional than I thought it'd be. My own top 5 would be 1. Kamuy of the Nine Tails, simply because it looks amazing and I also like the lore behind it. 2. Alte Roite, because it was the first Savage mount I ever got and Deltascape Savage was the first tier I ever cleared. 3. Air Force, because I get Dancing Mad on demand, that alone makes it one of the best mounts in the game. 4. Regalia Type- G, because it's a car, and I'm a bunny without a drivers license, but who's to stop me? 5. Ceremony Chocobo, since I share that with my significant other whom I love dearly.

my favorite mount, total cop out of an answer but it's my companion chocobo. Reasons: 1.) Raised my chocobo since it was a little chick. 2.) Went on THOUSANDS of adventures with him. 3.) He protected me, I protected him! 4.) The only mount that is connected to combat. 5.) The only mount, that you can customize their appearance. Even now when I'm maxed out and he's maxed his levels, I still take him out all the time on fate runs or just general questing.
Sir, I always enjoy listening to your stories of the "why". I have many memories of playing this game during dark times in my life since 2.0. The beauty of it all is that no matter what happens irl this game is a safe place where I am the WoL, where I have friends to play with, and an adventure waiting. Top 5 in no particular order~ Flying Cumulus~ This one is pure aesthetic, with a touch of exclusivity. Simple and clean mount that has been my default pretty much from the moment I got it. Bomb Palanquin~ I started playing sometime during 3.3, so Ga Bu's story was one of the first bits of new patch content that was added after I caught up. It was what spurred me on to doing beast tribe quests, and the Kobolds were naturally my first pick. Magitek Predator~ I farmed this one in StB for ages with no luck. A few hours pretty much nightly under a PF "To Catch a Magitek Predator", through which I met tons of players, which was kinda important, because up until this point I had mostly played solo. Unfortunately, this farm also introduced me to the pain of losing with a 98 need roll. Bonus points for being the FF6 in game magitek armor model. Rathalos~ A super fun crossover event between two series that I adore? Yes please. Iirc, I managed to finish the mount farm for this before predator's. Although I never saw a whistle drop until I was only like 4 scales away >_>;; Company Chocobo~ Maybe I got more use out of my combat chocobo than some since I spent a lot of time solo fating to level up and just exploring the terrain in general. They still have a home on my hotbar, and the bits with Seto in ShB absolutely resonated with me. Bonuses~ The omicron beast tribe reward is absolutely going to join this list, it is perfection. Sadly missing~ I can only hope that one day the Dreadnaught mount model is recycled. They were some of the more memorable enemies for me in the 13 games, which I actually enjoyed for the most part (13-2 in particular), and ever since I first saw this model in... coils? I'd been waiting for it to be a mount. Now I'm waiting for it to be a mount not gated behind ranked pvp which just isn't my sort of thing.

I also have the fat black chocobo, but mine came from buying Kingdom Hearts 3 on Amazon. I didn't even play FF14 at the time, but once I started playing it became my default mount over the company chocobo on my first travels of Eorzea. 😊
That fat black chocobo is the first and last time I ever had the ability to gift subs, and I did that on your channel, so it makes me feel good knowing picked the right person to gift to.
Model O from O12S has been my favorite mount since it was added simply because Omega has allways be a favorite superiors of mine. Getting to hear "From the Heavens" any time I get on the mount is a nice bonus as well.
Nightmare was my first extreme mount years ago, but my favirote mount has to be my Ramuh mount was the first time I was with a solid group of friends and earned in patch drop, just something I was really proud of doing it at the time, people doing it unsynced will never know the horors of light rampant prog.

Ozma is by far my fav mount, having the current savage and extremes are cool achievements but give it a year to unsych and it takes away some of that wow factor whereas ozma will always be a hard mount to obtain, from doing the whole grind in eureka to desperately trying to find a group to push through the arsenal and not trying to die once was a great experience and probably one of my favourite activities, also the design is stunning and always catches people’s attention my only complaint is the generic mount music but I never have my mount music on anyways (would of been fun to have turmoil as the song)
My favorite mount is probably Ramuh. He looks silly yet cool and he was the last Pre-Endwalker savage mount I had to get. The fight itself was fun too so it felt really rewarding. Nowadays if I'm on a specific mount its most likely Ramuh
So, I pull up this video, see #4 is the Nightmare mount and I think to myself 'Huh, I don't have that one yet!' so I queue up, unsynced as a Lv. 90 DRK for Garuda (Extreme) and get the Nightmare whistle on the first run. Thanks for the good luck, MrHappy! :D

Mine is my good trusty black ADS (Logistics System). Simply because it was quite the work to get and female Lala has the best riding pose on those ADS mounts.
Demi Ozma: because it's the coolest Firebird: because it's the most visually spectacular (also one of my least favorite because I often can't see when roulette picks it) Rose Lanner: because it's the prettiest Dodo: because it's the dorkiest Eldthurs: it's cool, visually spectacular and yet somehow also dorky
My favorite mount is a toss between Warrior of Light Dragon and the Triple Triad Card. Warrior cause I got it on my first clear. Triple triad symbolized just how much of the game I had to go through such as Eureka, Bozja, BLU Mage. Recently however I also got the Cerberus mount and it was such a joy to get after all these years.
For me it's Rathalos (I want more MH ones to be honest! People on this game would love a Mizutsune as a mount.), Regalia, Twintania, Phoinix, and company chocobo that is dalamud red with demonic barding. No particular order. I was really hoping Proto Carbuncle was going to be a mount.
My Favourite Mount is the Original Cumulus Mount (not the Yellow Mogshop one). Here in EU we are always screwed when it comes to Collaboration Events with differend Brands. For the Cumulus it was a Collab with Dr Pepper here were you had to bought special cans....and of course no Shop in my Area sold this special Event Cans only the regular ones. I drove 80km in the nearest bigger sized City just to buy 25 Cans of Dr Pepper 😅
Nightmare was the first mount I got back in ARR (outside chocobo and magitek). My first Garuda Ex clear and I confused it with Xantos. Fast forward few patches, I thought I had all mounts to get Kirin. I was confuse because I thought I had all EX mounts. Having to go back and fight Garuda for another mount was mildly frustrating 😆
@@Mrhappy1227 I didn't know Nightmare was a thing, let alone that I had it from my very first clear. I remember everyone being super surprised that I got it let alone my first run. In 8 years, I think I've seen it drop 3 times. Both main and alt somehow got it easy but alt was via easy solo.

Thankfully eureka and BA are still very much alive and doable to complete. I got into it cause I wanted the ozma mount, and eureka became one of my favorite pieces of content.
Even without a hub, plenty of people show off in hunt trains, Eureka, Bozja, housing, even Idylshire when you go do Unreal on the weekly. Plenty of places to share.
I love blue mounts as we rarely get them, but then I noticed I never use the bluish emerald carbuncle mount watching this........oh yeah my EX got me that hahahahahahaha *sobs*
I just got to pagos, and have three anmeos weapons having defeated pazuzu three times now. It took me like over 1000 lock boxes or more kinda lost count to get the trex. Im not kidding last time I opened a stack of 600 from teo 3 hour sessions. I love the t Rex because its a dino obvisously. But Eureka is very frustating, every time you get to a new area it sucks because your weaker than everything and if ypu wander off you can get killed by a higher level mob. And then u have to shout for a revive otherwise youll lose a level, and its really fruststing shouting rez please and nobody revives you and your just lying there dead and then have to grind the level back you lost. Like Im doing Eureka cuz I want the rewards of the mounts, minions, weapons but Im not loving it. Its only fun when your the max level in an area so your actually tough, like Im level 23 so Anemos is finnaly fun, but now Pagos sucks now. And I have to grind to level all over again.
Got 99 on Nightmare the run after a guy paid every party member 1million gil not to roll. Got it in PF right after lol. Got my Demi Osma by entering a portal (raid at last boss) after the guy who was supposed to get in, got killed by a mob beside the portal and told me to enter. 😂
oh it is your top 5 ... thought it was top five break down of NA, EU, JP, & Oceania ... that would be something to see what areas of the world prefer what mounts. I know there are the thumbs up, & (w/ addon) thumbs down, we need a 'don't care' button.

I feel that. Surprisingly no Stormblood music has that kind of attachment for me despite the time period. ShB and EW hit hard though

Loved this video. It's also relevant as I've transitioned from casual MSQ player only to discovering the myriad amount of things you can do in this game; like collecting cool mounts. Thanks for sharing your stories.
Top 5 in no particular order~
Flying Cumulus~ This one is pure aesthetic, with a touch of exclusivity. Simple and clean mount that has been my default pretty much from the moment I got it.
Bomb Palanquin~ I started playing sometime during 3.3, so Ga Bu's story was one of the first bits of new patch content that was added after I caught up. It was what spurred me on to doing beast tribe quests, and the Kobolds were naturally my first pick.
Magitek Predator~ I farmed this one in StB for ages with no luck. A few hours pretty much nightly under a PF "To Catch a Magitek Predator", through which I met tons of players, which was kinda important, because up until this point I had mostly played solo. Unfortunately, this farm also introduced me to the pain of losing with a 98 need roll. Bonus points for being the FF6 in game magitek armor model.
Rathalos~ A super fun crossover event between two series that I adore? Yes please. Iirc, I managed to finish the mount farm for this before predator's. Although I never saw a whistle drop until I was only like 4 scales away >_>;;
Company Chocobo~ Maybe I got more use out of my combat chocobo than some since I spent a lot of time solo fating to level up and just exploring the terrain in general. They still have a home on my hotbar, and the bits with Seto in ShB absolutely resonated with me.
Bonuses~ The omicron beast tribe reward is absolutely going to join this list, it is perfection.
Sadly missing~ I can only hope that one day the Dreadnaught mount model is recycled. They were some of the more memorable enemies for me in the 13 games, which I actually enjoyed for the most part (13-2 in particular), and ever since I first saw this model in... coils? I'd been waiting for it to be a mount. Now I'm waiting for it to be a mount not gated behind ranked pvp which just isn't my sort of thing.
Previous seasonal PVP mounts were top, so I feel you on the dread. Aulus' Chair was another great one.
@@Mrhappy1227 Ah, yeah, the conveyors? I always enjoy seeing those floating around, even if Aulus was arguably the most annoying part of the run to farm predator.
I also have the fat black chocobo, but mine came from buying Kingdom Hearts 3 on Amazon. I didn't even play FF14 at the time, but once I started playing it became my default mount over the company chocobo on my first travels of Eorzea. 😊

That fat black chocobo is the first and last time I ever had the ability to gift subs, and I did that on your channel, so it makes me feel good knowing picked the right person to gift to.
Model O from O12S has been my favorite mount since it was added simply because Omega has allways be a favorite superiors of mine. Getting to hear "From the Heavens" any time I get on the mount is a nice bonus as well.
Yeah, really solid mount
Nightmare was my first extreme mount years ago, but my favirote mount has to be my Ramuh mount was the first time I was with a solid group of friends and earned in patch drop, just something I was really proud of doing it at the time, people doing it unsynced will never know the horors of light rampant prog.

Ozma is by far my fav mount, having the current savage and extremes are cool achievements but give it a year to unsych and it takes away some of that wow factor whereas ozma will always be a hard mount to obtain, from doing the whole grind in eureka to desperately trying to find a group to push through the arsenal and not trying to die once was a great experience and probably one of my favourite activities, also the design is stunning and always catches people’s attention my only complaint is the generic mount music but I never have my mount music on anyways (would of been fun to have turmoil as the song)
I think if it had Turmoil as its theme I might have too much FFXI PTSD to use it 🙃
That’s fair enough 😆 I always get annoyed though when a really cool looking mount doesn’t get the music treatment, maybe just the eureka theme itself

My favorite mount is probably Ramuh.
He looks silly yet cool and he was the last Pre-Endwalker savage mount I had to get.
The fight itself was fun too so it felt really rewarding.
Nowadays if I'm on a specific mount its most likely Ramuh
So, I pull up this video, see #4 is the Nightmare mount and I think to myself 'Huh, I don't have that one yet!' so I queue up, unsynced as a Lv. 90 DRK for Garuda (Extreme) and get the Nightmare whistle on the first run. Thanks for the good luck, MrHappy! :D

1st one's story made me very happy.
My favorite mount is a toss between Warrior of Light Dragon and the Triple Triad Card. Warrior cause I got it on my first clear. Triple triad symbolized just how much of the game I had to go through such as Eureka, Bozja, BLU Mage. Recently however I also got the Cerberus mount and it was such a joy to get after all these years.
Triple Triad card makes me head bop to the theme every time

For me it's Rathalos (I want more MH ones to be honest! People on this game would love a Mizutsune as a mount.), Regalia, Twintania, Phoinix, and company chocobo that is dalamud red with demonic barding. No particular order. I was really hoping Proto Carbuncle was going to be a mount.

My Favourite Mount is the Original Cumulus Mount (not the Yellow Mogshop one). Here in EU we are always screwed when it comes to Collaboration Events with differend Brands. For the Cumulus it was a Collab with Dr Pepper here were you had to bought special cans....and of course no Shop in my Area sold this special Event Cans only the regular ones. I drove 80km in the nearest bigger sized City just to buy 25 Cans of Dr Pepper 😅
If I had to do that for a mount it would definitely be on the list 😅

the nightmare mount story is dope
Nightmare was the first mount I got back in ARR (outside chocobo and magitek). My first Garuda Ex clear and I confused it with Xantos. Fast forward few patches, I thought I had all mounts to get Kirin. I was confuse because I thought I had all EX mounts. Having to go back and fight Garuda for another mount was mildly frustrating 😆
It was weird enough that we even had two mounts for those first few. Not sure why they went that route 😅
@@Mrhappy1227 I didn't know Nightmare was a thing, let alone that I had it from my very first clear. I remember everyone being super surprised that I got it let alone my first run. In 8 years, I think I've seen it drop 3 times. Both main and alt somehow got it easy but alt was via easy solo.

I just got to pagos, and have three anmeos weapons having defeated pazuzu three times now. It took me like over 1000 lock boxes or more kinda lost count to get the trex. Im not kidding last time I opened a stack of 600 from teo 3 hour sessions. I love the t Rex because its a dino obvisously. But Eureka is very frustating, every time you get to a new area it sucks because your weaker than everything and if ypu wander off you can get killed by a higher level mob. And then u have to shout for a revive otherwise youll lose a level, and its really fruststing shouting rez please and nobody revives you and your just lying there dead and then have to grind the level back you lost. Like Im doing Eureka cuz I want the rewards of the mounts, minions, weapons but Im not loving it. Its only fun when your the max level in an area so your actually tough, like Im level 23 so Anemos is finnaly fun, but now Pagos sucks now. And I have to grind to level all over again.

Got 99 on Nightmare the run after a guy paid every party member 1million gil not to roll. Got it in PF right after lol. Got my Demi Osma by entering a portal (raid at last boss) after the guy who was supposed to get in, got killed by a mob beside the portal and told me to enter. 😂
oh it is your top 5 ... thought it was top five break down of NA, EU, JP, & Oceania ... that would be something to see what areas of the world prefer what mounts. I know there are the thumbs up, & (w/ addon) thumbs down, we need a 'don't care' button.
