The #1 Reason to be a Hrothgar on Zurvan server, is that I get petted by Lalafells .. You see, in my FC, I'm the family pet. They like their cute healing kitty. I'm a White mage Main, and it gets ridiculous in dungeons and raids. People see like 6 lalafells petting a Hrothgar and the Hrothgar doing grovel and purr emotes.
@@DenpaKei Remember to pet the kitty! I'll be looking for you!!! Hrothgar life is the greatest when Lalafells come around. I just wish there was some kind of special emote for the 2 from the cash shop that would allow you to serve as a 2 seater mount for lalafells... That would get addicting in my FC.
Mine was "Hey I got this free fantasia potion from finishing the ARR MSQ, and I'm 6'4" irl, it would be hilarious to be a 2ft tall bundle of pure chaos in game". 10/10 emotes, plus my little dude has sideburns, a mustache, and badass hair, no regrets.
Playing lala is love/hate relationship: - Half of the playerbase adore you, while the other half wish you don't exist. - You always look cute, but you can't take your WoL seriously on msq cutscenes - Other races feels more tall, but you feel so tiny (real life problems) - You wish to fantasia back to your original character, but then you start to miss your lala
My static started with 4 Lalafells, 2 fem Miqo's (myself included), 1 Hrothgar and bunboi. Not even 4 months later: 3 fem Miqo'te (lala)(bunboi); 1 fem Au Ra (lala); 1 Bungirl (me); 1 fem Hyur (lala); 1 Hrothgar; 1 fem Elezen (lala). Lalafells weren't forced, they simply got tired of it.
- I don't think I've ever met anyone who viscerally hated lalafells in the 3 years I've been playing this game - I absolutely can take my WOL seriously. It really depends on how you dress in cutscenes. "That I cannot deny" almost made me fall off my chair from how cool she is. - This is only a good thing. You also feel REALLY fast. - Never. Potato for life.
1:20 "they are very easy to see" My Raid leader: "Ok, we need to split into light parties. Stand on the A and B markers. Why do we only have 3 people in this stack? *Starts counting* Oh, nevermind, we have 4 in each, I missed the Lala."
Had an early Diamond EX run with coincidently 4 Lalas and happen to be 1 tank 2 dps and 1 healer. Plattform 1 was team Lala, Team 2 others. Easy to recognise when and who was on wrong side each time :D
I still remember the fight against the archbishop and my premade who helped me going "of course I'm the tallest of this group". And I just turn to her and go "How the fuck can you even notice? Compared to all these 12 knights, we're all midgets! Even me, the lalafell!"
@Firewatch___ also if youre a lala player and dress them up as a tiny skimpy thing then i see a problem. Even if they are potatoes and not children they have child like bodys and shouldnt be sexual looking. My opinion and majority probably
I love walking around a city and suddenly hearing "WOOO YEEEEAH YAHEAY, WOOO HAHAHAAHA-" fade in and it's a Lala standing there spamming the cheer emote. Makes my day every time! Also I, as a Roegadyn, love healing Lalafel tanks. The dynamic feels like we're one of those huge dogs like a Newfoundland or Great Dane that don't know they're huge and are terrified of tiny animals that they could easily flatten, and a tiny chihuahua that has no idea it's a potato and just wants to pick a fight with everything 10 times its size. Once I got a dungeon on roulette as healer where I had an entire party of Lalafel. Felt like I was running a daycare :)
as a Lala warrior let me just say it's hilarious some of the reactions I get from being a tiny but mighty tank. From "Awww...look at da little fighter go..." to "Wait..what-y-you TANK?" One guy literally said "Aw shit. here we go again." XD
Their emotes are so good. I am a Viera main but damn.... running around as a little Gremlin high-fivining people's knees and running away, then using the comfort emote to get headpats...Very tempting to go back to Lala
As a lala main I can confirm: Lalafell mains are either wholesome beans or absolute chaos gremlins. There is no inbetween. It is the best. I also have my main, and then my alts Wind-up Gaius, Wind-up Cid, and Wind-up Agrias. ALL THE SMOL.
Also as a lala main, I fully agree with this and my favourite pet to run around with is the Space Bird. It sits on your head. It looks soo fucking cute.
I'm a bit of a shy, socially anxious type even in games. As a Lalafell, it's far easier to interact with random people in postive ways. Just go up to people in town and do your cutest/funniest emotes and you'll receive some headpats and hugs from your new friends. Super-easy ice breaker. Try emoting at random strangers as a cat girl or bunny. They'll just think you're weird.
I mained cat boy, and now bunny boy, but I always take breaks to become a popoto when not doing serious things like MSQ where I want to self insert for cutscenes. The #1 reason is that everything about Lala leads to no social anxiety. I have awful anxiety and struggle to talk to people, even in games. But I think being a chihuahua makes me feel like there are no expectations at all and removes 90% of that anxiety, leaving me with just silly fun.
I have an alt that is a super edgy dressed and named Lalafell and it is so fun getting into hijinks with randoms. Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I log into him and it makes me feel a bit less upset. There's something about lowkey RPing as a tiny ankle biting demon DEMANDING to be taken seriously that is just so funny
My lala is a warrior, and I specifically got the Titan axe because it's literally larger than her whole body. Being this tiny little lady with this GIANT HUGE AXE is just the funniest thing to me and I couldn't be happier.
Fun fact about the beds inside the dwarf houses, the /doze emote will work with them. There's also another dwarf house that Lalafells can enter in the other dwarf town across the map.
Fun Fact: Since Lalafell's are smol, their animations are a tad bit faster. Like for instance, mining or chopping in the Diadem is a tiny bit faster as a Lalafell then any other race because they don't have to swing their arms so far. I am literally not joking about this fact XD
And our mounts animate faster too, same as our run. Say you use the sheep (sorry, karakul) mount, it has the quickest, tiniest pitter-patter walk, so it can cover the same amount of ground of, say, the massive strides of a roegadyn's karakul.
I'm a Lala main and just finished Endwalker and that last 1v1 fight cutscene was... amusing... lol But in general, I love my Lala girl and try to make her a very serious WoL despite her size and adorableness. ❤
Yeah being a lala really took my out of the seriousness that came. It just didn’t look right! As hilarious as it was to watch him get wrecked by a potato with a book (SMN)
I main a Lalafell Monk. I initially made them as a joke, being the smallest race, with the shortest range and then being the class with no ranged attacks worth mention, but I quickly fell in love with just how adorable they are and got caught up in developing a backstory as to just why they are like this.
Been a Lalafell since the beginning of ARR. I had no idea others get weird messages because I never get one. Anyway, just like FFXIV, there is a point of no return from a Lalafell at certain point. I myself are way past this and I cannot imagine myself not being a Lalafell. Even in MSQ cutscenes, it feels more epic to see tiny me going against the big bad like David and Goliath.
My main RP character is a min height Lalafel tank (she's got a full backstory as to why she's ONLY a tank or Melee DPS). If someone mocks her size she just shield bashes them across the knees and/or shins, let's them crumble to the ground in pain, then asks them "so who has the height advantage?"
I chose being a Tank Lala because I thought it would be funny, but I got attached and now I could never switch out. Lalafell is truly the peak of Eorzea. Cutest emotes, all of their combat emotes are so exaggerated its awesome LOL It just makes everything more grand, cities feel bigger, Viera’s look taller, bosses are insanely massive in comparison. Free headpats are nice too
Reason 11: It makes sad scenes more heartbreaking. If your Lala is cute enough, you'll almost choke in tears at the sight of your cute little thing going through immense pain of loss. For a good example, the "Certain event in Heavensward". Anyone who played it knows what I'm talking about. I almost cried myself seeing my Lala look broken.
@@shiro3146 Shame you can't choose how to perceive situations, since some people want to be the bad guys, but you'll have to settle for "Evil with benefits".
I'll never be a Lalafell (I love my Gigachad Highlander too much), but they bring me joy every time I see or hear them--especially if they have a punny name, like, "Spuddy Buddy," or "Wind-up anything."🥰
A lot of people say you can't take them seriously, but I don't feel that way at all with my character. I can't imagine the game without him, he can easily look heroic, even with cute clothes, and shows a range of emotions. Honestly, his serious face is more serious than the serious face of traditionally serious characters.
Literally pint size powerhouses of condensed Aether. On one side they literally house Thaumaturge and Black Mage mentors... On the other side we have FOUR Canon Lala Tanks - 2 part of MSQ (Pipin - son of Raubahn, Gladiator; Papashan - Sultan Sworn Paladin.), 2 part of Job guests (Alka Zolka - Marauder, Scholar quests series; Giott - Warrior, Shadowbringers Healer Quest). So it can look funny to players... But as far as story is concerned WoL turning out to be Lala and Tank will not be seen as something funny or special 'cause there are numerous Lala Tanks that are ALWAYS taken seriously be it MSQ or Job Quests (even If Giott, bless her soul, operates only when her body is 90% alchocol)
I became a Lalafell for the Dwarf houses. I stayed Lalafell for the illusion of speed, the fact our models are the closest to the player hit box and because we're just cute. I changed back to a miqote last year, and couldn't stand it for more than a day, I just felt too big and heavy
I remember my first time visiting FF14.. Chose to play a Lalafell, because it was the extreme opposite of what I usually would play, so I thought I give it a try. At some point I managed to enter that desert-city, being overwhelmed by it's sheer livelyness. Didn't took 10 minutes before some catgirls gathered around me and started to pet my head. Didn't took another 10 minutes and I continued my journey as a "Pimp"-Lalafell. Lalafell/10 Charming race.
Just started playing about 2 weeks ago, first character I created was a Lalafell thaumaturge. Figured something that small aught to posses the most powerful of magics! Just about fell out of my chair with laughter when I rolled into the thaumaturge guild! So damned adorable!
I recently started playing lala, and the most encouraging and awesome thing for me is, every mob and boss feels bigger when you play a potato. It gives that feeling from older games where tiny hero go against big evil, it's such a cool thing, i can't wait when i get to the raids and trials to feel it even more. Also, i'm purposely keeping my camera close to char just to get this great feel. Yes, i'm probably gonna die a lot in alliances xD
As someone who gets really uncomfortable with erp and random pms, playing as a lala really helped steer clear of those situations. People are super friendly and will even just randomly try to gift me things as well even more when I play my lala vs the other races that I play.
Cookies and milk...I have so many cookies and milk in my inventory as a lala. I am out somewhere in the world fishing, random people come over headpat me, give me cookies, then leave. I mean...I fish in wierd places, corners of maps...but lalafel are like magnets. It is kinda wholesome on it's own. Also male and female lala are def treated differently. For some reason actual females find it cute to flirt with male lalas, I assume because they are usually played by people who are just having fun so they won't take it seriously. Thus it is harmless and a LOT less risky for them to do so. I have NEVER seen female lalas get flirted with.
As an male Aura player (due to wanting someone that looks like a tank, since I am Gunbreaker tank for my friendgroup) I have to admit Lala females manage to make nearly any outfit look cute. But: I can't swap. I love my Nanamo pet sitting on my shoulder way to much, not gonna lie.
I've played lalafell from the first day I ever played and honest to god you really nailed the reasons why I have a nigh impossible time imagining ever fantasia-ing away from my lala main. We lala mains are very sociable folk, just like the race we play
I started playing at the beginning of January this year. I chose an Au Ra, female. But you know what? It came down to a coin flip. I was THIS close to playing a Lalafell. A Lalafell gladiator to be exact. There are still days I wish I were a Lalafell. I have a vial of phantasia from the msq. It's very tempting to switch. I do enjoy spending time with Lalas though. I spend a lot of time crafting, and every now and again, I get tracked down in my little isolated corners by Lalas, and just having them sit with me or cheer me on while I craft... it just warms my heart and makes me feel a little less lonely.
Funny story, I was doing a raid with my FP and we made a simple bet on how many times I would die during the raid till completion, at the time i didn't think about it too much...till i lost. I was then requested to phantasia into a lala for an entire month. I was the ONLY lala in the FP (a very grumpy lala who ran around looking at them sideways) and i can confirm, everything from being pet by random people and given cookies/snacks it's all true. I have stayed a lala since then.
Something I loved about playing as a Lalafell is how they can make serious scenes unintentionally funny, but also make the sad scenes even sadder. Rewatching some of the sad scenes, where major characters, as a Dunesfolk, it was shocking how much more heartbroken my character appeared, as opposed to playing as other races.
Ey, this channel's pretty lit. Ya got some fire content, such a good find for somebody such as myself being a sprout of ff14. You earned yourself a subscriber .😎
I decided to make a Lalafell character for a story my buddy is doing and during one of the dungeons I was tanking in, there were two other Lalafell and a female Miqo'te White Mage. That shit was hilarious.
Gotta do a shout out to my main, Elezen! It gets a bad rap being the 'giraffe' race and not actually having the Aymeric face usable, but I stan my lanky boys and girls. 1. Instagrace. People are gonna look at your characters long limbs and delicate expressions and immediately think 'high class.' Anything your character does is gonna look elegant, even if the running looks more like jogging. They're not out here breaking a sweat you know? 2. A less played race! You'll stand out immediately if you play an Elezen, and there's always an 'oh!' moment from people when they realize you aren't a bun, hyur, kitty or lala. It tricks people into thinking you actually think before you make your choices. Bonus points for Darkwights. 3. Lore heavy! You got a lot of elezen lore that gives you a ton of backstories you can give your Elezen. Are they a Duskwight tribefolk? A Duskwight trying to eek out an honest living in Gridania despite the racial prejudice? A wildwood Gridanian farmer? Old Ishgardian money? A lesser family's child trying to create a worthy family legacy as a knight? A Sharlayan scholar intent on uncovering the mysteries of the world? Tons of options! 4. HEAVENSWARD BABY. Wanna fit in amongst some of FFXIV's most beloved characters, like Estinien and Aymeric and Harchafaunt? Want to blend into the crowds of what is implied to be the WOL's second home? Want to stand side by side with a student of the Academy, or blend into the Temple Knights? Ishgard is considered one of the best areas in the game, and it can feel like home! 5. Never lose yourself in a crowd. You hate how people will bunch up during Leap of Faith? Have trouble finding where you are among the cat girls and buff hyur cosplaying as sexy chocobos? You'll tower over 80% of your dungeon groups, and the rest have such distinctive features that it'll be easy to tell which one you are in the crowd. Smaller races will have to look up at you when they talk to you, and just imagine your tiny waifus and manlet husbands tilting their heads up at you. Just be prepared to become the defacto babysitter in a dungeon when you inevitably tower over all the catgirls you got thrown into duty finder with. 6. Darkwight have a good in-universe reason to have glowing white star freckles. What more need be said? 7. The /dance emote. You just look so half assed doing it. You look so unhappy to be there. 8. Faux Garleans! Ever wanted to play a Garlean, but the hyur faces and height just werent doing it for you? Many Garleans, esp Emet-Selch, were built on top of Elezen frames and use Elezen emotes. Take the smallest ears and bigger hair, buy a Star of Nezha and bam! Instant Garelan! 9. Perfect Canvases. Ever get a gorgeous outfit that's just a little bit hard to see on your lalafell? Doesn't quite fit your Roegadyn's aggressive emotes or stances? Is just kind of There on a Hyur? Gets lost in the business of Au Ra? Can't show the hat on Hroth or Viera? Elezen are the perfect fashion models for both showing off every inch of those well-earned pixels, but also doing so in a way that subtly elevates the look with your elegant stances. Even that notorious neck has been accounted for in many of the newer pieces, and often barely even registers if it even shows at all. 10. Scion Elezen Takeover. Between you, Urianger, the twins and [spoiler] you completely outnumber the others in terms of pure representation. They shall see. Soon they shall all see. Join the tall. Join the tall. JOIN THE TALL. JOIN THE TALL--
Additional reason: I'm tall in real life (6'6), it's different and interesting having everyone else be taller than you, especially if you go into first person.
After watching this I really wanted to main Lala (I originally main Miqo'te) I had even made a cute lala and had all sorts of fun interactions until I told a friend about my decision. My friend was disgusted by this and had given me a lecture about how lalas only cause drama and that only pedos play them and that I would understand all of this when i stopped being a sprout. a lot more was said, but I dont want to talk about here. It heavily discouraged me to play and I cant help but feel really sad. I just wanted to play them to be cute and get head pats and friendly interactions. ;-;
I know this is many months after, but what that person was on about is simply not true at all. To start with, lalafells are not children. They are a small race. Like hobbits, gnomes, and haflings in Lord of the Rings and dungeons and dragons. But really they are just small, cute things that enjoy causing chaos or being nice to people. Lalafells and their playerbase are either mischievous gremlins or looking to make friends, often both. I fall into the latter category, as I'm not the most mischievous in-game. I play as a lalafell paladin and I enjoy being the tiny warrior holding back the big boss from the party. Being a tiny knight just feels awesome. And the march towards Nidhogg cutscene looked all the more epic with how tiny I was facing up against a dragon. That friend of yours is up in their feelings about something and being toxic about it. You shouldn't let that influence you. If they truly have a problem with it if you ever decide to try playing a potato, and start accusing you of things you know you aren't, then they aren't showing themselves to be a very trusting friend.
Your friend needs a serious talking to if that's what they're into. Maybe they're projecting, because they want to lewd the lalas? I mean, lalafell are adults, I'm sure they can go find that sort of thing...
I played an Elezen for years, then switched to Lala and now I am in love. I like being cute and tiny, I like the head pats. I like being able to cheer people up just by doting them. It's the best.
If you think about it lalafell are proportionally the strongest player race. No other race jumps 3x their height, uses weapons the size of their body, or covers as many strides while sprinting. If that same proportional strength was scaled up to normal race size nothing would compete. From a lore standpoint Lalas are strong enough to contend in a society built for taller races and are even known for having some of the most potent magic and intelligence capable of building impressive civilizations. Don't let the cuteness fool you lalafell are badasses.
as a Lala main this is all true. Best sub community. Everyone is so friendly to me and I can literally walk up and wave to any random bloke and I will get pets XD
Lalafell quest specific dialogue always mention that they're "shorter than usual" - it gets really funny especially when the WoL gets taken the mick of.
Been lala since I started and it's very true that it helps to make friends!! People made me feel so comfortable in the game now I can just go up and talk to strangers!!
Lala are my favorite race and the first one I picked. seeing them as tanks is just too funny and they are always adorable. The only problem with them is their size is too small for armor and it doesn't look as well on them.
1. play lalafell when you want to be a cucumber whatever you put on, 2. play lalafell when you wish your sight being blocked by the legs of the giantic boss, 3. play lalafell healer so that your team members fail to spot where you are when stacking is required
being a lala makes it so much easier to approach people, especially other lalas. i so a lala with really cool glam and sent her a tell and all of sudden a group of popotos were gathered in ul’dah emoting at each other like it was some kind of convention
I think there are. Being tiny will always have the cute factor, but there are options that aren't pure cute and do look good on a Lala body type. My DRK wore the Nightsteel fending body for a long time and now wears the Kitseos body and I feel both make her look quite cool along with the cute. I don't wear helms since they look ridiculous, though. For BRD I use the Ochon (uh, sp?) body and boots from PVP and I think the body piece looks better on a Lala than a tall character. I use the Heirloom healing top for WHM, which is admittedly very cute, but not like, "cutesy cute" if that makes sense. lol And WHM suits a cuter look, imo. I need to figure out how to use Eorzea Collection while playing on console... It's probably not as hard as I think. lol
In my experience, actons are good for more serious lalafell, as it muffles their adorable sillohette more. Run the dungeon with all the tonberrys and try and get a Mercenary’s Acton, that’s what I mainly wear
As a Lala..I can just go up and hug anybody and cheer them on and its makes their day. Tormenting the Weebo Police is also a nice perk...if you know, you know.
As well as the Lalafell-only house in Tomra, which is fairly common knowledge by now, there’s a second Lalafell-only house in Komra, which tends to go unnoticed for whatever reason
Reason #11: (Disclaimer - this is very likely just a me thing since I've spent almost 100% of my game time as a lalafell) Positioning. It's extremely intuitive to tell where the dead center of your character is when you're in combat as a lalafell. It also makes any sort of jumping and parkour easier as well. I barely ever feel the need to put a target on myself.
As a min height lala, I like to greet my friends with a hug on one of their legs...cuz that's usually all I can reach 😂 As a tank...knee height and ready to fight!!
My favorite thing to do as a Lala is be the most dead serious person in the room. someone tries to pet you and you just stare at them and say: "... Do you enjoy that warm thumping sensation in your chest? Would you like to keep it? Then stop. Petting. Me."
Your sense of humour and sarcasm always make me crack up! Funny thing is that I play (among several toons) a male Lalafell, but I specifically gave him a deeper voice like you'd hear on a Roe or a Hrothgar. People came up and joined me when I had my campfire minion out, and one of the Miquotes was cracking up when I hit /chuckle and this deep boisterous laugh erupted. (She said wasn't expecting THAT voice which I said was exactly the reason I chose it. :) ) You hear stories about a lot of folks hating on the Lalas, sometimes quite viciously, and while I've encountered a few who like to trash-talk us smol folks, most have been especially kind to my lil guy. I get THE best reactions from people walking up and petting my Lalafell and giving him minions-- which is adorable, or when I am on my Hrothgar because he has a cute name based on a tv show. Just out of nowhere, people walk up and give me hugs. It's wonderful!
I’ll never forget the time I qued up a leveling roulette and loaded into Halatali with three Lalafell maids. It was like going on a school field trip. (My character’s a bunny girl, btw)
The tank point is so true! I started FF14 knowing I was going for a sword and shield protector narrative(Reinhardt-like) but I was still a little stuck between the more serious approach of a large Hyur or the pure comedic cuteness of a Lalafell. If I was more of a comedy person... it would have been the Lala.
I never considered making a Lala, I just was not interested. Then I watch this and now I'm like, "Hmm, maybe a Lalafell alt someday wouldn't be so bad after all~" Well done AvyCatte, well done.
From a Realm Reborn to Shadowbringers i play Lalafell male, with a deep voice and mainly Tank and i love it. It´s a so cool race. The only reason i don´t play it anymore is Viera are my favorit race since Final Fatasy tactics advance.
I know it's a week late, but the top is the cape of happiness. It can be a bit pricey, because the materials to craft it come from a treasure dungeon, if I'm not mistaken.
In 2021, I fantastia-ed to a lalafell from a fem-aura. It was meant to be a funny temporary thing, just until the next patch when I was planning to get eb-ed to my manra partner. I even bought a second fantasia. It is 2023 and that second fantasia is still in my chocobo saddlebag. No turning back.
My reasons for playing lalafell 1. It's hard to make a bad looking lala. Even if they somehow come out ugly they are cute ugly like a pug 2. Free head pats 3. It's a whole new world when your 3ft 4. No one will ever suspect you of murder 5. You can gaslight the murder one someone else 6. Lalafell laughs can cure depression or can cause it the choice is yours 7. Everything looks good on you 8. You're bound to inherit good money management by infusing yourself with the lalafell genes 9. Cutscenes are entertaining as heck when villain's have to constantly fear this 3ft menace 10. All lalafells have a sense that brings them together so you'll never feel lonely
I once off tanked for the Extreme fight of the final boss in Heavensward, and part of that includes standing between an add charging up a big attack and the stacked dps in front of a paralyzed healer. The thing standing between the entire party and certain doom is a lalafell.
Lalafell have strength disproportionate to their size. Much like Beetles and Superman lol. For those who can’t seem to take Lalafell seriously as the WoL in CS, just think of him as Yoda is Star Wars. Very small but incredibly powerful.
Yep. Came here to say this. The weapon isn't any lighter in their hands. And they can pretty much clear a Viera from a standing jump. Underestimate Pipin at your peril.
When I first started the idea of playing the small race didn't appeal to me. I've always traditionally been a healer in every game I play. Started as au'ra because they visually fit the "soft healer" appearance well. Then one day as part of a fun thing with friends I "temporarily" turned into a lala and was quickly enamored. I loved how they express themselves and also how despite going the same speed as everyone else it feels like you're zooming around everywhere. The way people treat you is fun too; in addition to constant headpats people always feel like youre up to something. Now with every Fantasia I do I will always surely return to lala.
Definitely a top 10 reason is the expressions. People who only try lala as a fantasia holiday might not notice, but their faces are way more expressive in cutscenes. In conparison tallfolk are just :| :/ ;| all the time.
love being a lala. i'm not a talker, but it is fun to randomly go up to people, shower them with flowers, and run away after laughing lol sometimes they run after, give me a headpat, and go on with their day. the little things :D
Yep, accurate aha ! I would add that lalafell is the most unique way to interact with the game. It's weird, but like.. All your interactions suddenly are different as a lalafell, it's not the case with all the other races. I went from miqo to lala more than a year ago and like.. since then I met way more people, ended up in way more funny situations, made more friends.. Also bonus point, lalafell is actually the most optimized race for housing aha ! 😁
Lalas are a surprising temptation for me, I almost made my emergency sub-ran-out trial character into one, but my Highlander is eternal (thanks to her, I started tying my hair in a ponytail and I love it) And now that you mention DMs, either Highlander's permanent "Don't bother me" face, the fact that I AFK near a prettier friend or Gilgamesh/Ul'Dah's **relative** lack of... people had me never get any of these... maybe all three, lucky break
So, adding to #8, in the Jade Stoa Trial, the boss grabs a player when he uses State of Shock. Most races have a pretty regular struggling animation while in his hand, but Lalafells are upside down kicking their little legs furiously. It's such a good animation that's so easy to miss when you're trying to do mechanics.
my friend once streamed herself playing 14, she was a lalafell. i had never played an mmorpg, nor did i have the need to. all i wanted was to be lalafell. within a week i had the full version of the game
As a lalafell player myself, the best part is people walking up to you, petting you, then continuing on their merry way.
"Your tribute pleases me!" -Me after getting a headpat.
I find it funny and suspicious, considering the characters I'm roleplaying as Lalas.
I've been given so many cookies.
You did forget that many Minions are sitting on the head of a Lalafell. This is one of the cutest perks for being a Lalafell.
THIS
Get the Red Panda minion, you're welcome. @w@
@@TheZorch the Nutkin is also awesome ;D
I remember when I first noticed my wind-up Nanamo adorably climbing up and sitting on my lala's head. 😌
lol true, i always use the koala minion bcs it sits on top of my lala head almost all the time
"There was this fantasia sale that one time-"
Literally the backstory of 90% lalafell population.
pff, why use fantasia when you can just make a new character like a normal person.
This is how Lalafell procreate. They throw Fantasia potion at random people and hope for the best.
Thanks god for me in the beginning I’ve always and only have been a Lala lol
This is literally how i became a lizard and never regretted it
Mine was "Hey I got this free fantasia potion from finishing the ARR MSQ, and I'm 6'4" irl, it would be hilarious to be a 2ft tall bundle of pure chaos in game". 10/10 emotes, plus my little dude has sideburns, a mustache, and badass hair, no regrets.
Playing lala is love/hate relationship:
- Half of the playerbase adore you, while the other half wish you don't exist.
- You always look cute, but you can't take your WoL seriously on msq cutscenes
- Other races feels more tall, but you feel so tiny (real life problems)
- You wish to fantasia back to your original character, but then you start to miss your lala
Nope no desire to go back to a cat 😂 I love my lalafell tank
I just play 2 characters at the same time. catgirl And lala. If you don't do savage, gear grind won't exist And wear you out
I regret nothing
My static started with 4 Lalafells, 2 fem Miqo's (myself included), 1 Hrothgar and bunboi.
Not even 4 months later:
3 fem Miqo'te (lala)(bunboi);
1 fem Au Ra (lala);
1 Bungirl (me);
1 fem Hyur (lala);
1 Hrothgar;
1 fem Elezen (lala).
Lalafells weren't forced, they simply got tired of it.
- I don't think I've ever met anyone who viscerally hated lalafells in the 3 years I've been playing this game
- I absolutely can take my WOL seriously. It really depends on how you dress in cutscenes. "That I cannot deny" almost made me fall off my chair from how cool she is.
- This is only a good thing. You also feel REALLY fast.
- Never. Potato for life.
1:20 "they are very easy to see"
My Raid leader: "Ok, we need to split into light parties.
I'm used to playing big characters because beeeg and going lala I was having trouble keeping track of myself 🤣
I still remember the fight against the archbishop and my premade who helped me going "of course I'm the tallest of this group".
And I just turn to her and go "How the fuck can you even notice? Compared to all these 12 knights, we're all midgets! Even me, the lalafell!"
Bruh i usually make jokes that my lp only has 3.5. 😂
@@coconosuga5351 omg right, whenever there's a lot going on or a huge ass explosion happens i keep saying "where the hell am i??" 😭
When I get in a dungeon with 3 lalafells and 1 other race it's like our parent is taking us on a field trip.
As a Lala player, please don't. We're short, not children.
Those are called babysitting parties
@Firewatch___ its a joke not a reality lol. We all know what lalas are really......
Potatoes. 🥔
@Firewatch___ also if youre a lala player and dress them up as a tiny skimpy thing then i see a problem. Even if they are potatoes and not children they have child like bodys and shouldnt be sexual looking. My opinion and majority probably
I don't play as a Lalafell but whenever I get into a dungeon and the rest of my party are Lalafells, I would often get called as mommy or babysitter
As my main is a lala I prefer my alts to be gangly. So I have a random elezen and miqote for glam purposes. Then I have a Tesleen and G'raha Nuhn.
I like to be a wholesome chaos gremlin. You CAN be both. We are lala, don't limit yourself!
Embrace Lala life and do both.
Unless they're also a cat girl or a bunny.
As a cat girl main I blend into the background which can be nice too, but Lalafell are great for making friends.
I like being weird. I sometimes just go up to people and /eategg. It's one of the most random emotes I have.
Really? I don't think it is weird to receive a random emote from a tall race
I don't think you're weird. I do, however, suspect a /tell is imminent and hurry quickly on because I got shit to do.
I feel this comment down to my soul. Anxiety blows, but being lala de-stresses me greatly 💖.
No cuz literally same. I never get far with other characters but whenever i play a smol nuggie of a character i just enjoy things sm
I think you hit the nail on the head
It's actually in their lore too. The fastest and small has a better chance of survival hiding in a tall grass from flying beasts.
And our mounts animate faster too, same as our run. Say you use the sheep (sorry, karakul) mount, it has the quickest, tiniest pitter-patter walk, so it can cover the same amount of ground of, say, the massive strides of a roegadyn's karakul.
I swapped from a Lalafell to Roegadame. I felt like I was constantly in slow motion.
As a lalafell that was the best part of the ending to me, just too hilarious.
I wish they’d have just remade the level 50 goldsmith cutscene for that as a lalafell
My fc-mates are consistently delighted by my being a lala tank.
ERPers know better than to mess with the pimp race and risk getting blacklisted at all the... Whatever, fleshpots.
Ok glad that’s not just me
My main RP character is a min height Lalafel tank (she's got a full backstory as to why she's ONLY a tank or Melee DPS).
Cutest emotes, all of their combat emotes are so exaggerated its awesome LOL
It just makes everything more grand, cities feel bigger, Viera’s look taller, bosses are insanely massive in comparison.
Free headpats are nice too
Wear the dwarf armor set for tanks. Be Tamra Warrior and enjoy the hilarity
I used to play as a miqo for years. One day fanta'd into lalabro and haven't looked back since. Lalafell emotes are pure winning
Still the most under appreciated FFXIV YT channel. 💯 deserve your growth
As a healer I feel more comfortable when the tank is a Lalafell. Lala Tanks are ungodly W2W pulling dynamos more often than not
The first time I saw a Lalafell tank, I thought "you have got to be 🤬 kidding me." Now I have a Lalafell Dark Knight.
She's cool and cute.
I started ffxiv as a lala and it cured my depression
Reason 11: It makes sad scenes more heartbreaking.
If your Lala is cute enough, you'll almost choke in tears at the sight of your cute little thing going through immense pain of loss.
For a good example, the "Certain event in Heavensward".
Anyone who played it knows what I'm talking about. I almost cried myself seeing my Lala look broken.
im not there yet but i can imagine as a lala(wich also the evil mastermind in ARR) its like double edge of a blade
@@shiro3146 Shame you can't choose how to perceive situations, since some people want to be the bad guys, but you'll have to settle for "Evil with benefits".
Just remember, a smile better suits a hero.
@@bl00dm0urne Q_Q
Lalas look like they are actually crying. The other races when they are sad, it look like it's just a joke.
I think my fav detail of Lalafell is that they’re canonically just solid muscle.
That and aether.
And spite.
Cut scenes as a lala are also hilarious. Playing through the MSQ is so much fun watching them all.
I like the cutscene where Yshtola gives you the evil eye. For some reason due to Lalas' short height, the death glare is even more dramatic.
@@zaryalace7475 Gives stare down another whole meaning
A Lala might get less creepy tells - but those they get might be worse than what you get on a tall.
And yes, Lalafell are absolutely ADORABLE!
Yeah.. unfortunately the tells are what made me fantasia away from Lala. Jeez louise talk about creepy.
Lalafell/10
Charming race.
Just started playing about 2 weeks ago, first character I created was a Lalafell thaumaturge. Figured something that small aught to posses the most powerful of magics! Just about fell out of my chair with laughter when I rolled into the thaumaturge guild! So damned adorable!
/sooth is the uppies emote. /Comfort is used for patting heads of talls when they are seated.
I absolutely love playing as a lala!!!! Seeing my character just fills me with joy >w
What if I told you the lalafell going "wooo!" in the fight, may also be a Miquo'te? Female Miquo'te and Lalafell share a voice you can pick :D
When l found out about it, l bought a fantasia just so my 2nd character, a catgirl, can have lala voice
The ones that will are the very worst of the group though...
At first I’m like “is this patronizing?” But then I’m like “but these are good cookies”
Shoutout to Zenos von Smolvus from crystal. "A TEST OF YOUR ANKLE STRENGTH!"
Dungeon run with 4 lala always makes me smile.
They never last long though, 4 lala runs always the fastest
As an male Aura player (due to wanting someone that looks like a tank, since I am Gunbreaker tank for my friendgroup) I have to admit Lala females manage to make nearly any outfit look cute.
But:
I can't swap. I love my Nanamo pet sitting on my shoulder way to much, not gonna lie.
Nanamo sits on lalafells heads, as do other minions.
As a lala player, I thank you for this delightful video. :3
They call me the Lalafrag.
Pull the pin, throw me in.
FIRE IV
I decided to make a Lalafell character for a story my buddy is doing and during one of the dungeons I was tanking in, there were two other Lalafell and a female Miqo'te White Mage. That shit was hilarious.
As a Lalafell myself, Thank you for this video! Also the uppies emote is /soothe
JOIN THE TALL--
these are all valid points, my alt is an elezen and I love playing as her xD
Yes, be bold, play a Duskwight Elezen. Easily my favorite alt in all the MMOs I've played.
Additional reason: I'm tall in real life (6'6), it's different and interesting having everyone else be taller than you, especially if you go into first person.
After watching this I really wanted to main Lala (I originally main Miqo'te) I had even made a cute lala and had all sorts of fun interactions until I told a friend about my decision.
My friend was disgusted by this and had given me a lecture about how lalas only cause drama and that only pedos play them and that I would understand all of this when i stopped being a sprout. a lot more was said, but I dont want to talk about here. It heavily discouraged me to play and I cant help but feel really sad. I just wanted to play them to be cute and get head pats and friendly interactions. ;-;
My old favorite line can be used again when playing as Lalafell "It's only a short way'? Is that a short joke?!"
I still can’t get over seeing a Lalafell as a Tank, it’s just the funniest. But it’s the expression that we appreciate.
Lalafell was a big reason I wanted to start playing FFXIV, and I was one until EW. If only Lalas had glam options beyond "cute" 😭
It's probably not as hard as I think. lol
as a reaper my lala is the most edgiest of edgelords! you can definitly put together other looks besides "cute" if you want :)
Tormenting the Weebo Police is also a nice perk...if you know, you know.
this video cured my burnout i want to play my lalafell again
As well as the Lalafell-only house in Tomra, which is fairly common knowledge by now, there’s a second Lalafell-only house in Komra, which tends to go unnoticed for whatever reason
Wow I never thought about the fact that lalafells can enter the dwarf houses in kholusia. Definitely gotta go check this out
Reason #11: (Disclaimer - this is very likely just a me thing since I've spent almost 100% of my game time as a lalafell) Positioning.
It's extremely intuitive to tell where the dead center of your character is when you're in combat as a lalafell. It also makes any sort of jumping and parkour easier as well. I barely ever feel the need to put a target on myself.
I don't play a Lala but I like them and they make me laugh. They all seem like pretty decent folk too so to each their own.
Yeah I am now a Lalafell
As a min height lala, I like to greet my friends with a hug on one of their legs...cuz that's usually all I can reach 😂
As a tank...knee height and ready to fight!!
Once upon a time, an Elezen and a Goblin had a baby.
After much tongue-flaps and busy-talk, this happy-bundle gained the name-label of Lalafell.
The "asking for uppies" one is /soothe, and I love spamming it whenever I'm playing a lala
My favorite thing to do as a Lala is be the most dead serious person in the room.
someone tries to pet you and you just stare at them and say: "... Do you enjoy that warm thumping sensation in your chest? Would you like to keep it? Then stop. Petting. Me."
MAD BECAUSE SMALL
Good to see a fellow demon Lala
Lalafell: Cutely breaking a Gods kneecaps.
Then I watch this and now I'm like, "Hmm, maybe a Lalafell alt someday wouldn't be so bad after all~"
Well done AvyCatte, well done.
From a Realm Reborn to Shadowbringers i play Lalafell male, with a deep voice and mainly Tank and i love it. It´s a so cool race. The only reason i don´t play it anymore is Viera are my favorit race since Final Fatasy tactics advance.
update i am Lalafell agian XD
5:42 Omg I love that bard outfit ;-; Do you by any chance know what prices it’s and what color combination?
I know it's a week late, but the top is the cape of happiness. It can be a bit pricey, because the materials to craft it come from a treasure dungeon, if I'm not mistaken.
In 2021, I fantastia-ed to a lalafell from a fem-aura.
It was meant to be a funny temporary thing, just until the next patch when I was planning to get eb-ed to my manra partner.
I even bought a second fantasia.
It is 2023 and that second fantasia is still in my chocobo saddlebag. No turning back.
This is how most of us became lala.
My reasons for playing lalafell
1. It's hard to make a bad looking lala. Even if they somehow come out ugly they are cute ugly like a pug
2. Free head pats
3. It's a whole new world when your 3ft
4. No one will ever suspect you of murder
5. You can gaslight the murder one someone else
6. Lalafell laughs can cure depression or can cause it the choice is yours
7. Everything looks good on you
8. You're bound to inherit good money management by infusing yourself with the lalafell genes
9. Cutscenes are entertaining as heck when villain's have to constantly fear this 3ft menace
10. All lalafells have a sense that brings them together so you'll never feel lonely
Honestly I'm a new player and pretty shy myself, so I might as well become a lalafell to find some friends.
Great Video as always. Really looking forward to Roegadyn!
In conparison tallfolk are just :| :/ ;| all the time.
love being a lala. i'm not a talker, but it is fun to randomly go up to people, shower them with flowers, and run away after laughing lol
sometimes they run after, give me a headpat, and go on with their day. the little things :D
I lost it when she did the manderville xD Love this video so much
Dude your videos are amaizng. Definitely a reason that convinced me to get FFxiv
Lalas are a surprising temptation for me, I almost made my emergency sub-ran-out trial character into one, but my Highlander is eternal (thanks to her, I started tying my hair in a ponytail and I love it)
And now that you mention DMs, either Highlander's permanent "Don't bother me" face, the fact that I AFK near a prettier friend or Gilgamesh/Ul'Dah's **relative** lack of... people had me never get any of these... maybe all three, lucky break
as a 2 day old ffxiv lalafell player, i love this video
I chose as a humble human. Although Wedge is super adorable as a reincarnated Lalafell. ❤ 😊
Its everything we wanted and more.
Although you did forget that shoulder minions sit on our heads because our shoulders are too small for them.
