Jared is a keeper, very attentive and sweet, a great husband and your dad was so loving and giving, they know you so well. You are so blessed Desi.
I'm usually a silent watcher, but I can't put into words how much these videos mean to me. I binge them regularly and if I don't know what to do they're a safe space. I have CFS/ME and when I can't go outside and see the world (which is a lot of the time) this little universe is my comfort. Thank you❤ Happy new year from little me, in Norway ✨
Every good wish for your health in 2023. Blessings from Ireland
Thank you so much!! Likewise, I hope you have a wonderful year 💞
little universe is beautifully said :)
@@Motherhubbard170 thank you! I was wondering if it'd be weird, but I think kindred spirits know what I mean ❤️
Wishing you health and wellness this year ❤ CFS is hard and isolating, I'm so glad her videos have helped a little.
Candy floss in Afrikaans is “spookasem” which literally translates to ghost breath. 🤭
I love this!! 😍❤
Go SA lol
And in french it's Barbe à Papa, which means Dad's Beard 🤣
That is awesome! If I actually ate the stuff, I’d definitely call it ghost breath! Though I might try butterbeer flavor, sounds delicious.
That is so cool!
THANK YOU for explaining the love language of gift giving. I JUST explained this to my partner, who is lovely but not strong in that department and likes me to tell him exactly what to get me. I was like, "NO, I can buy things myself, it's about the thought and planning behind the gift."
I’ve had to spell it out for Jared for years! But he has been improving every year and it makes me feel SO loved that he has been trying so hard to love me in the way that I feel loved. I usually give him a wishlist with a few items that he can use to be inspired by. We also have talks every month where we go over our current interest and fixations! I guess he remembered when he was looking for tea that I went through a whole Bridgerton phase during spring 😅
@@DarlingDesi So there is hope! 😂
@@DarlingDesi would you happen to know where he got that Nutcracker Mug? I am also a huge collector of different mugs, and I love Nutcrackers!
@@supersleuther3955although it’s 10 months later, I saw those mugs at hobby lobby last Christmas season, maybe they brought them back
Good luck

Hello! I want to thank you for this year, you have improved my life and that of many others enormously. When the darkness and rain of autumn cover the joy of life, when the wind blows through the pine needles, when spring feels like a total failure and the heat of summer is nearly killing us, then you stand there like a magical fairy and show joy and reason in life. You make life a cozy, fun, joyful moment and I can't find words for how grateful I am that you have made me appreciate both myself and life. Being able to wake up in happiness and be ready for another wonderful day is thanks to you. Happy new year and may your dreams come true.
What she said!👆🏻🫶🏼💖
your description of the weather makes me think you live in Canada as I do,
LOVE Canada but the weather is something else, which is why its virtually all we talk about.
Immigrated to Canada over 25 years ago
@@Motherhubbard170I actually live in Sweden so you were close. I’d like to travel to Canada sometime it seems like a nice place.
In Greece candy floss is called "malli tis grias(μαλλί της γριάς)" which translates to "old lady's hair" 😅
hahah I love it!
in Portugal we call it sweet cotton
Perfect cozy video to end the year. Loads of love for you desi ❤️
Best wishes for new year everyone 💕
Thank you!! ♥️♥️♥️ Wishing you a happy and restful 2023!
Its been my habit to watch ypur Videos before going to sleep.makes me relax. Happy new year, from Bangladesh 🇧🇩💕
That warms my heart so much 🥹 I’m so glad you enjoy the videos! I hope you have an amazing new year! 🎉♥️
Omg! That recipe book from your mom and grandma is everything.... my Nana handwrote recipes of my childhood and put them in a binder just like that. She passed away the next year and it is still such a special item that I will forever cherish.
In Poland candy floss is called 'wata cukrowa' which means 'sugar cotton' 🍬 Happy New Year! 🎆
Thank you so much for another perfect video❤️❤️ Here in France, we call candy floss "Barbe à papa", which literally means "Daddy's beard"🤭 Happy new year to you and your family!❤️🎉🎉
In Australia we called it "Fairy Floss" 💖
Always love watching your videos! Happy New Year 🥳
Your videos never fail to make me feel safe & happy Desi 💖 thank you for taking the time! 🥰
That Little Women edition.... I'm in love. How STUNNING 💜
Jared is such a great gift giver! Also, does anyone know where those adorable Christmas mugs are from?
I find some cute ones at Hobby Lobby, Thriftstores, HomeGoods, TJMAXX, and Marshall's.
My husband and I have a tradition that started before we got married. On Christmas Eve, we give each other books. Then we spend the rest of the evening reading, snuggling, and eating chocolate.
Yes we are total dorks!
How sweet!
What a perfect way to end 2022 🥰❤️ Thank you so much for all the lovely videos you've created this year Desi, and for all the joy you bring. I hope 2023 will be filled with magical and wholesome moments for you and your lovely family 🥰😊💕✨️ Can't wait to see what great things the future has in store for you! Happy new year ✨️
gift giving is also one of my strongest love languages. it's beautiful how much your loved ones take the time to curate such personalized and meaningful gifts. merry christmas and a happy new years to you all
So cute to think of you, Jared and your Dad making cookies together! Happy New Year from a cottage in Wales x
you got the ferrero bit right! In England we say ro-shay for the second word, but given it's a french name we are probably also wrong 😂! What beautiful gifts! I love to see Christmas haul, especially when you find people with the same tastes and interests as yourself! Happy New Year Desi, looking forward to another year of seasonal, cosy magic!
Here in the Netherlands candy floss is called ''suikerspin'' which if literally translated means sugar spider 🕷🍬 Happy New Year to you Desi!
That is so interesting and cool! Here it's cotton candy but I should start calling it candy floss.
In Norwegian it's called sukkerspinn which is sugar spin, never thought about it in relation to spiders but cobweb is (spin)delvev, so interesting!
@Eira Nergård haha, well spiders do have "spin-dly" legs & they do "spin" webs, so perhaps it all makes sense.
Love the name sugar spider♡
In Australia it’s called fairy floss
Sarah Miller, author of Marmee, is also the author of Caroline which follows the story of Ma in Little House on The Prairie. I really enjoyed it and seeing her perspective. I hadn't heard of Marmee but I need to request it from the Library now!
How interesting - I will be looking for the Caroline book. It sounds like a book I would love. Growing up, I always related best to Laura, but now that my kids are grown and gone, I would love to read Carolines perspective. I have a feeling I will relate to that now.
Candy floss is "hattara" in Finnish. I think it's a beautiful word. We also call those small white clouds sailing on a sunny sky "pilvenhattara", literally translated "cloud candy floss". Your videos are like a pilvenhattara I want to disappear into. I have generalized anxiety disorder and your positive, cheerful attitude and your courage to be you and enjoy the things you love in life teach me something in every video. Just you being you, but also your gift as a fellow creative person. The impostor syndrome is real but believe me, your talent is real and amazing.
My momma did something very similar for me a while back. She put recipes in her handwriting in there, as well as giving me recipes written by other people in my life that she had (such as a few from my Muz who had passed away years before) so I have not only their recipes but in their handwriting. It is still one of my prized possessions.
I was hoping you'd make a video like you did last year, one with your Christmas presents, and you did! I cheered. I just love the unique kinds of gifts you get. Your husband does such a good job!! And your other family members too. Also, I am so sorry for your health struggles. Gosh, so many are struggling with health issues these days. :( I guess a video about how you have handled things would be really helpful for me to see, but I suppose that is too personal, and maybe you wouldn't want to take away from your cheerful vibe. But do continue to take care of yourself and thank you for this fun video!
The Jan Brett book unlocked a childhood memory of a book called the mitten? I think? I remember there being a hedgehog climbing into a mitten in the winter to stay warm but more and more animals climb in. It was on a hard style cardboard book but I LOVED looking at the pictures. These cozy videos always remind me of something forgotten in my childhood. Thank you and happy new year!
Yes!! I remember that book, too! It’s so cute!
YOU unlocked that memory for me just now! I absolutely loved that book!
They have it at Barnes and noble rn if you want to restart your collection!
If Little Woman puts you in a reading slump there are two more books after it!! Little Men, and Jo's Boys and they are both good! Thanks for the cozy winter feels💜
Here in pakistan cotton candy is called "بڈھی کے بال" meaning old lady's hair 😅
Also props to you for being dyslexic and making reading a hobby. It takes me a day’s strength to “read” a paragraph.
Candy floss in Spain is called 'algodón de azucar", which roughly translates as 'cotton sugar'. Oooh Ferrero Rocher are delicious, I thought they were universal though. Fun fact: during the summer they stop selling them over here because of the heat. I love all you gifts and I love that they're so thoughtful. And happy new year!
I was following and watching you for a while. Eventhough am much older, but your video can be for everyone. I love every video you made and can be watching it again and again. Even my husband watching it too, especially your Christmas video. I love baking and books, your review inspire me always to look for new recipe or buy other print of Little Women. And telling us having a bear doll is not only for kids but it self-care, it's so true! You bring so much joy to me and to our home. Thank you dear Desi! All the best wishes in 2023 to you and Jared and your entire family. Much 💖 from the Netherlands.
Dear Desi, I know what it's like to be young and have an illness effecting you so much that you can't work (and what feels like being a part of 'normal' society / do what your peers do). So I'm sending love and letting you know you're not alone in this! Being young DOES NOT = healthy. And that's OK. It creates particular, precious opportunities and insights that an otherwise healthy person would not have ♥♥
Omg, the Tolkien and Sherlock Holmes books!!! 😍 I basically just got my husband books for Christmas - one of them being a similar history book on the world of Tolkien. I think I'm just as excited about it as he is. 😍😂 Happy New Year!!!
Not only are you a good person and a kind soul, you put so much work and creativity into these videos. I come here for inspiration and joy and I always find both. So, thank *you* so much and Happy New Year!
i’m from louisiana so these french pronunciations might be a bit off but bon mamon is like “boh(n) ma-moh(n)” (those n’s are secret, just emulate jerry from anne with an e, they’re like. soft n’s) and then ferraro rochere is “fuh-rare-o ro-shay” hope this helps so you can ask for them next year!!!!
Thank you for all of your videos this year. You are the reason for each season. I never start to feel "in the season" until I see your videos and it has helped me so much this year
I love my water carafe. The reason I got one is because my kitten would dip her paws into my water glass at night. Yuck I will wake up and take a sip of water with kitty litter or whatever🥴
In Quebec, cotton candy is called “barbe à papa” which means “dad’s beard” in english 😂 You got so many nice gifts, love all of them!!
Wait, Desi, I know I'm a lurker but have you tried American bean to bar or craft chocolate? Because it's ridiculously good chocolate!
This video is so filled with joy, so thanks for spreading that joy and your passion for books with us! Here's to a happy and healthy New Year!
Just because I think you're gonna like it, in French, we call the cotton candy/candy floss "Barbe à papa" :D (Daddy's beard, literally)
The water carafe is actually called a “tumble up” in the vintage world. Just fyi:))
Your videos are a joy. Your enthusiasm and pleasure for life is a real pick-me-up for your viewers. I've read a few of your recommendations this year and the Hygge books are on my list for 2023 ('cosy' is one of my favourite words) Have a wonderful New Year and a healthy, lucky 2023. xx
Where are you my little muse? Hope you post your magic soon!
Definitely cried at the end of this 😭😭😭 Best of luck to you both and I can't wait for your next video!
I woke up to this, I already know its going to be a good day now! Thank you
Hey! norwegian here. Lykke is pronounced closer to "Lické", and Hygge more like "Higgé". The i in both are pronounced like the y in "system", and the e pronounced like the second e in "electric" ^_^
Ahh, I got Tom Felton’s memoir for Christmas too! I really enjoyed it 😊 Your videos always bring me so much happiness. Wishing you the happiest of New Years, Desi! 💛
Christmas is not christmas without Jan Brett books. We have at least 10 of her Christmassy books. I love how you always see what's going on in other parts in the story around the edges of the pages. I think you would really enjoy 'Annie and the wild animals.' About a girl who's cat disappears and she tried to entice a wild animal to be her new pet but none are as good as her kitty Taffy. There is a lovely happy ending though 😊
you are curing my anxiety, every time it kicks in again, I go straight to your videos ! Thank you for that !
In Italy we call cotton candy „zucchero filato“ which means spun sugar 😌
I love ‘the Snowy Nap’. It is one of my favourite books! Jan Brett is wonderful. For Christmas my in-laws got me the edition of Pride and Prejudice with the letters, that I first heard about on your channel. I love it. 💕
Candyfloss in swedish is called "sockervadd" .. directly translated you can understand it like sugar floss..sort of
Don't apologize for explaining what smores are. Many of your followers are from different countries. I am from Venezuela. We don't have smores here. I have seem them only in movies, but most people have never heard of them here.
I discovered you when I had covid and thank you so much for your wonderful and uplifting content!! Blessing to you!!
Candyfloss, in the Netherlands we say "Suiker-Spin" Sugar-Spider haha ☺️
"We don't eat traditional American chocolate in our house."
*Pulls out the chocolate m&ms, which are a family tradition* 😂😂😂
I genuinely love your videos and enjoy rewatching them to relax after a long day. They are so pretty and calming, and your positive attitude is so much fun to watch. Best wishes to you, Jared, D’artagnan, Binx and Benedict for the new year and thank you very much!
In French (Canada), cotton candy is barbe à papa, which literally translated to "daddy's beard" 😂🥰
Candy floss in German is called “Zuckerwatte” which literally translates to sugar cotton. In Chinese it’s the same words the other way around, 棉花糖 miánhuātáng means cotton sugar or cotton candy 🍬
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Desi and fam, thank you for all your inspiration this year. Thanks to you I now burn candles when it gets dark because it makes winter feel so much sweeter. Take care and be well 🥰
I love your videos so much! It kinda makes me proud to be part of the first ones to see this one, happy new year everyone!
That’s such a nice thing to say! 🥹 I’m so glad you’re here! Sending you a virtual hug 🤗🥰
What a lovely ending to your video about the experiences and memories of Christmas 🥰 I spotted that Little Women edition in the Waterstones flagship store in Piccadilly (London) and was sooo tempted 😮
Your videos inspire me everyday! please dont stop making them. would you consider doing a victorian/edwardian themed valentines day video?
Desi I am so happy I came across your channel! I work for the Cincinnati Public Library (best job ever!) and I love making notes of all your book recommendations. I too am a book hoarder something that I got from my late brother who would take me to every bookshop and used bookstores searching for the beautiful and rare 1st editions. This year I gave my nephew a signed 1st edition of Richard Adams Watership Down which was my brothers favorite book. Happy New Year to you!
Haha didn't expect to see a fellow CHPL employee in the comments! It is indeed the best job. ☺️
@@Meme-yc9mj OMG! I work at the Greenhills Branch! What branch/department are you at?😂
You are such a beautiful soul ❤ I look forward to your What I Got for Christmas video each year - they are so fun to watch! I LOVE the water carafe, I have been meaning to get one of those!
FAIRY FLOSS 💖💖💖 That's what we call candy floss in Australia as it looks like it was made by Fairies
Ferrero Rocher is one of the most popular Christmas's chocolats in Europe. Here in Portugal, we eat a lot :D
Desi, you’re such a breath of fresh air!! I love watching your videos! Happy and healthy New Year!
I wish they would bring back the cotton candy of my youth. Instead of coming in plastic bags, it would be made on the spot & sold warm.
I have to watch this video over again because after I saw the Harry Potter pjs I spent the rest of the time trying to find them and I couldn't 😢
They’re from Pottery Barn! ♥️ I just checked and they’re currently out of stock but I did a quick ebay search and you can find them for the exact same price on Ebay! I hope that helps! 🤍 www.pbteen.com/products/adult-harry-potter-hogwarts-christmas-organic-flannel-pajama/

Oh, and cotton candy in Finnish is hattara, meaning a fluffy little cloud. So sugar cloud, maybe?
Felice 2023! Grazie per la compagnia. Un caro saluto dall Italia!😊
Just fyi the Jan Brett website has a ton of printable colouring pages of her art. Perfect for a cozy afternoon of colouring:)
I'd love a 'how to enjoy January' like you did for November. I feel like Jan has so much potential but we all just end up feeling sad
First of all, thank you for your videos! Coming home to watch your videos has been a safe and cozy space for me. Anyway, if you want to stay in the world of Little Women-Louisa May Alcott wrote two more books, Little Men and Jo’s Boys, that follow Jo into adulthood and form a trilogy. :)
Those Harry Potter pj’s are magical! 😍✨
happy new year, desi! i always love your videos! i feel like i’ve found a kindred spirit whenever i watch them :)
I’m companion reading Marmee and Little Women and it is so amazing I never want to leave
Have you ever tried See’s Candy’s chocolates? American but really good quality!
I love that brand! I'm not sure why some Americans have to bash Americans(ie American chocolate). That's so annoying, especially since chocolate is an American product that originated from Mexico.
I love you and your content Desi! Honestly, your videos have changed my life. I stumbled across your Victorian Morning Routine, and something, maybe the Holy Spirit, drew me to the rest of you videos. Through them I have discovered how precious and beautiful each moment is. I struggled with seasonal depression (still do a little:), but you have helped me find joy in romanticizing the wintery months, and for that I am forever grateful. Please know you are not only making SPECTACULAR aesthetic content, you are helping people's souls. God bless you, Desi! I will forever remember the impact you've had on my life.
Have a fruitful and happy 2023, Desi 🧡 Your videos are my favourites!

Very beautiful house 📕vlog … I enjoyed your vlog video … love ❤️ from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I got the encyclopedia of Tolkien as well!
I recently joined a cozy mystery book club at my local library and think you might like this months book. The title is Cheddar off Dead by Korean Moss. This has been the best one we have read so far.
Your videos are always so lovely and cosy. Your gifts were all great, but the Holmes book was just gorgeous ❤️
In Greece we call candy floss "malli tis grias" (old lady's hair) 😂Happy New Year!
I did a bookish "what I got for Christmas" video and separate "Christmas book hauls" as well..lovely haul of goodies
Hi, i dont wanna be some scary stalker but where do you live? Just about the country. Beacuse i also wanna live somwhere where is a lot of snow in tbe winter, roses in spring, warm in summers and leaves falling off trees in autumn. I'd like to live somewhere where there's a bird song, there's a forest and also a lawn, somewhere where I can connect with nature. I want to live somewhere where I can calm down and breathe deeply and smell nature. I want to live somewhere where I can write stories in peace and be surrounded by the harmony of nature.I totally understand you, if you can't answer me for security reasons, could you at least recommend a few countries or provinces? Thank you in advance
Utah I think
We love you desi!! Thank you so much for all that you do ❤️ You are so talented and sweet and I hope you continue to feel loved and at peace going into the new year!

Such a lovely video to end the year ! In France we call candy floss "barbe à Papa" (daddy's beard) haha and also you should keep an eye out next year because Bonne Maman makes advent calendars here in France, with a tiny jar everyday with a different flavor ! I don't know if you can find it in the US but maybe ? Happy New Year !

I’ve watched a bunch of your videos. Your adorable but I’m a little worried about your sugar intake. Your over doing it girlfriend. Careful you could develop type 2 diabetes.
This is such a weird comment 🤔
I have been feeling depressed after the holidays and your cheerful demeanor and gratitude just filled my heart ❤️ Love you Desi!
hi, i´m from Germany and we call the cotton candy "Zuckerwatte".
So, translatetd word by word it means sugar cotton. You see it´s pretty similar :)
