I used to try something similar when noticing someone's attention had gone elsewhere for some time. I would change what I was talking about to something quite outrageous whilst keeping the same tone. Just see how long it was before the friend realised, it was often quite a long time.
it’s always very interesting when a voice actor is working in the same scene as a regular actor. this scene is very subtle but in many shows the VA sounds a little too energetic, used to working in cartoons and stuff like that. most of the time people don’t notice. but if you pay attention you can just tell, one actor is putting their entire performance into their voice while the others have more to work with.
