In this lesson you will learn how to play minor chords like a jazz piano pro using the tune "In A Sentimental Mood". "In A Sentimental Mood" is a beautiful tune composed by the great Duke Ellington. The tune contains common minor chord progressions that you must understand as a jazz piano player.
The 'minor line cliche' is a common harmonic movement found in jazz music. You will find this minor chord sequence in countless jazz standards so it makes sense to understand how the progression is constructed.
In this lesson we explore the different ways that we can navigate the minor line cliche using bass lines, two-handed chords and inner voices.

Just wonderful how calm you bring these great sounding sophisticated voicings and giving us new options on how to play this or apply it to another piece. I doubt playing around will ever start to bore me. Thanks!!
I've been wanting to learn these sorts of chords for ages. Brilliantly done and I hope you keep up with the amazing work!

what is the name of the piece?
How dumb are you? Can’t you read the title? Smh
What's the name of this song it's very beautiful
in a sentimental mood
Learning how to dissect these progressions is so freaking difficult lol.. Knowing what notes to leave out, knowing when to drop the root instead of adding the extra note, playing a D7 but the C isn't C# (isn't D7 = D Major 7, doesn't D Major have C#?) I'm still new to theory but maaaan lol.
D7 means you assume it is a dominant chord with maj3 flat7. Major 7 has to be indicated somewhere. Don’t get overwhelmed, just focus on learning a piece at a time and things will come together quicker than you may have thought
Ey man in it doesnt say maj just do the maj chord and flaten the seventh. That easy
You could make it easier in your explanation
Always wonder how blind peoplr learn piano
Completely lost you towards the end, u went too too fast with those complicated voicings
Cảm ơn bạn chia sẻ video hay, mình kết bạn nhau đê phát triển bạn nhé 👍💖
