I have been cooking for 50 years and watching cooking shows for just as long, but you always teach me something new ( or remind me of something long forgotten! Can’t wait to marinate the chicken as you did. Took chicken out to make this tomorrow! Thank you!
I made this for lunch today. My husband said it was great! He said it was the best fried rice he’s ever had! Thanks Kevin for another great recipe and demonstration.❤👍👍
"Kikkoman" soysauce is good. There are 2 kinds of soysauce. The regular soysauce is for the taste, the dark soysauce is for darker colour. When I fry chicken, I add a bit of dark soysauce to make the colour of chicken skin looks darker.
Wow! This looks so wonderful and almost like the fried rice food stand we used to go to for fried rice in Rota, Spain. It was amazing to watch the cook make a giant wok-full of fried rice, and was so delicious! Thank you for showing us an easy and proper way to make fried rice! Cheers! 😊❤🍚
Love fried rice. The pan you want is a carbon steel pan. It doesn't need to be a wok. You want the pan screaming hot, which you dont want to do with nonstick, and you want the "fond" in the pan to flavor the rice. Stainless stell is the other choice for stir fry. Cheers!
Great seeing another take on one of my favorite things, fried rice. I watched an old Chinese chef making his eggs and he said to barely whisk so the white is more evident. Then he makes it as an omelet and cuts in strips. I like this idea when making mine. I took a Chinese cooking class from a women raised in China and got some of her old family recipes. My go to rice is Fancy Calrose & bacon is the grease I use, it gives it a wonderful flavor and pork grease is the new healthy fat. I will try your egg foo yong. Mine is a little different, using a more savory sauce but a sweet and sour might be a nice change. Tnx again for the recipes.
I liked your recipe, it was on my mind all day. I went to get a few groceries and will make it tomorrow. I might eat it with a silver spoon too, that was so different. I'm binge watching your vlogs, they're all great to catch up on. I enjoy each one. Thanks Kevin!
Chicken is a good idea 💡😋 We always add Portugese sausage and bacon. I want to try Chinese-style sausage, too. My son would kill me if I put peas and carrots in it!! Chinese peas, maybe!! ❤️❤️
Love your videos. When I make fried rice, I save a step (and a dish) by cooking the egg in the middle of the pan at the end. Just move the rice mixture to the edges and scramble the egg in the center of the pan, then mix it in to the rice mixture. I think it gives the egg a better flavor, too.
may try eat with fresh cucumber sticks, grrrn part of green shallot parsley leaves chopped sprinkle on top ,and wit a piece of ĺemon to squeeze lemon juice on top of the skillet fried rice
Looks delish, Try looking up a recipe called Egg Roll in a bowl , if you have never tried it do so. another easy one pan dish I cook often. gonna give this one a try as well.
@@kevinleejacobs1364 Well I Made this for dinner tonight and it came out delish, my husband loved it as well. As we were eating it, he was commenting on other things we could add to it, LOL.. like water chestnuts, shrimp, crunchy noodles. The substitutes are endless. TY for a keeper.. I have trouble with soy sauce, so I sub liquid Aminos as well. Tapioca flour instead of corn starch ,corn does not like me. I have diet restrictions, and recipes that I can sub for GF, DF I love. I know you have to cook GF for Mr. Fox so you understand. Again TY.
Good Sunday morning Kevin- I am on my 2nd ☕☕ coffee and making fried rice with you! So you know, your older videos like this fun one, are popping up in my play list. My Christmas wish is that you reach 50K subscriptions over the 🎄🎄 Holidays. You are almost there :-) My New Year's wish is that you consider publishing a cookbook of both savory and dessert recipes, featuring all things lemon🍋 Cheers! ~ Diane

I so enjoy your ‘channel’ and all your tips for cooking, gardening and the home. Over many years of following you I have successfully made many a dish and shared with family and friends. Introducing you to a cousin recently I mentioned you lived in the Hudson valley area to which he suggested you may at some time in the 80’s or 90’s been influenced by his parents (my aunt/uncle) who had a gardening/cooking show on both CBC and PBS in your area called ‘Gardening with Anstace and Larry’. They lived in the Kemptville, Ontario area. Just curious? Anyway, your show is so similar and probably the reason I am drawn to you/it!! Thank you
Hi Ellen - So glad you enjoy this channel! I'm not familiar with the gardening/cooking show you mentioned (I moved to the Hudson Valley in 2002). Will check to see if there are any clips from the show on RUclips.
@@kevinleejacobs1364 thanks for your reply! If you look up their show in google, all sorts of things come up. It’s uncanny how similar your gardening tips are! Thank you and Bon appetite!
It's so colorful and it looks delicious. I can eat rice everyday; I love it. I'll make extra rice so I can enjoy this the next day! Thanks for the recipe. I've changed my name; I'm no longer John Millhouse!
Kevin, Kevin, Kevin! I continue to be surprised that this use of vegetable oil for frying because of high heat issue involves use of safflower oil…so known to be bad for your health - peanut oil as used by most Asians or better yet for health, avocado or grape see oil - both especially healthful and made for high heat frying issue. You and Mr. Fox should get the healthiest frying oils!
I said "500 grams of chicken" in the video. The correct amount is 150 grams, or about 1 cup!
Gracias!😽

Kevin, I just love how authentic you are. Mistakes are no big deal. Forget the egg? Add it in later! I enjoy your videos immensely. Thank you!
Any minute now I'm going to try this, in my wok, with the addition of a pinch or two of Chinese five spice. Thank you KLJ.
