I remember being so excited when this show first came out because it was intended to be based off of the archie comics... watched episode one and dropped it immediately while all of my friends were obsessing over it. I don't understand how this show is still going and still has viewership

They have those names and stuff bc it’s from a 50s/60s comic book but also riverdale is legit just the names from Archie cuz in the comics they are all different, it’s not sexual or dark at all, and also Archie was a nerd, jughead was a funny guy that loved food, moose was a huge dumb guy, midge was some cute little girl who dated moose, Veronica was a nice rich girl, Betty was a fun sweet humble girl, Cheryl blossom was an annoying (but no where near as in the show) girl, etc. So honestly riverdale is an ok show but it ain’t Archie, as someone who used to read a bunch or Archie this triggered me that they called this like the live action Archie, cuz everything in this is sexual, dark, freaking depressing and weird, and Archie was a fun comic

Frfr. I didn't mid season one. It actually had a good plot. But every season progressively got worse and worse. Season five was so unhinged. Like, it went EVERYWHERE but a main story. It was too hard to know what was going on, and I couldn't enjoy it. The best part of the season was the ending 💀 I didn't expect it, and my mouth still drops at the thought
@@TapOut-bx6nq ya I agree… season 3 was definitely the worst in my opinion. Like this one is crazy but at this point it fits Riverdales vibe. The Griffins and Gargoyles as well as the Cult that was the farm don’t feel to fit the theme as much. Like this one is at least still a mystery and it ties in with Sabrina since they cancelled it and had her appear.

The only episode of season 3 I Thoroughly enjoyed was “Big Fun” and that’s because I’m a huge Heathers fan. But I was still disappointed in some of the changes they made to it

every line of dialogue in riverdale sounds like it was patched together by a random word generator and some slang that the writers think high schoolers would say and random pop culture references they think will make them relevant.....also some random fake deep bullshit from tumblr and weird bird nicknames and odd sexual stuff

Ok, so the first season was based in 2017-2018. The riverdale Archie comics was released in the 1940s so they combined the modern times with the tech, some of the clothes. And went back in time with the rest of the clothes, the architecture, the way they speak, the fact that Betty’s parents sent Polly away for getting pregnant to have the baby. Etc. they really go back and forth between the time frames and what they use in each.

Also time doesn’t exist in Riverdale. It’s like 2020, but they behave like 60s, 70s and 80s and they are all 25 and in high school. Forget everything you know about time and you life is easier

An answer for their timeline question lol: basically it's in modern time but they interchange modern and antique technology, fashion style (to a point) and other various aspects like speech to make it feel "timeless" , time-ambiguous etc.
It's really weird but makes for some funny stupid scenes/content that the producers were going for 😂🤷

I still have no idea how they made 7 seasons out of this. Its like the first 2-3 seasons have a sliver of plot but then the next 4 seasons is just down hill and so confusing and all filler. I watched up to season 5 and deaply regret it.
