I'm glad you did the fast-forwarding, it made it all the more tolerable. I watched the first season of "Riverdale", and actually liked it, a dark take on the "Archie" comics. But it's devolved ever since. Now, that's a bit presumptuous, as I eventually phased out my viewing of it by early season 4 because it had just become overly...something/everything. It seemed to take itself far too seriously, and the plot "twists" became eye-rolling bad. Also, by THEN, all of these "high school kids", who were close to age appropriate when it started, were obviously well into their 20s. Or beyond.
There are. You can find them in a bar that they go to so frequently at the same time that there’s a drink waiting for them when they show up. The bartenders prepare themselves before they get there mentally- usually by fixing the smile on thier face and getting out the eye rolls that they want desperately to do the moment that they yell hello the moment they walk in the door. They always sit at the bar And they will tell anyone within arms distance the story of the “good ol’ days” and sort of act like they are part of the bar staff with new people. Will use any opportunity to relate whatever is being talked about to one of the three stories that they regurgitate on a loop. Call all staff by their first names loudly so everyone can hear how (in thier mind) that they are somehow special here and that holds some sort of clout. It’s sad, sometimes annoying, but they are mostly harmless.
20:35 "She seems like the only character who is based in reality." Me: *flashbacks to when she claimed that she was the queen of the bees and a witch and ran a cult*
Okay, starting Riverdale in season 7 is like asking to have a stroke. Nothing makes senses when you have seen the first 6 seasons, i can't imagine jumping into season 7 without context, or with context to be honest. This show has become a fever dream i don't think i could relive. Lol
Ah yes, Riverdale, I've been watching from the beginning and it's been crazy. also, the show hasn't always been set in the 50s there was an asteroid and they got sent back in time so that they could change the future so they could survive in their future, but they didn't end up getting sent back to the present day cause jugheads girlfriend Tabitha (a time-traveling Angel. I'm not kidding) tangled the timelines into one. ik it's crazy, I kinda wouldn't have it any other way though.
BRO WHEN JUGHEAD WAS TALKING AT THE BEGINNING (9:31) THEY FULL ON STOLE HIS AND BETTY’S LINES. THOSE ARE ALMOST WORD FOR WORD FROM A PLAY CALLED “OUR TOWN” Especially the B: why should it be painful? J: Because you won’t just be living that day, you’ll be seeing yourself live it LOWKEY LIVID ITS ALMOST WORD FOR WORD- EMILY (from the play) DOES NOT DESERVE THIS DISRESPECT It’s from the graveyard (act 3) when she’s ALREADY dead, not just about to die, and she being buried. It’s actually really emotional when acted well, all of the ghosts in the graveyard warn her not to go back because they know it will hurt her, but she goes back and relives her 12th birthday and has a monologue about appreciating life for everyday that you have, especially the small things that we as humans tend to overlook. I did this play last year that’s why I remember it so well lol ALSO 14:02 is from the play too!! This whole ep is definitely based on the play. I bet they didn’t think anyone would notice because it’s from 1913. Jokes on them, I’m a theater nerd with way to much time on my hands. That part in the play is because Emily didn’t realize how much time had passed even though it had only been like 10 years. She was about 22 when she died (she died in childbirth). But she actually does talk that way and ngl it makes more sense because it was literally written in the 1910’s. And the difference is she makes those exclamations to herself, not actually to her mom. Because she’s literally watching herself live it, she’s not just in her body and living through it. Wth Riverdale lol You probably wouldn’t have the context if you watched the other episodes, cuz it’s mostly based on the play 💀 BRUH this is so frustrating because it makes sense in the context of the play that she’s like “is this real or a dream?” Because she’s already been clearly established as dead BRUH 49:50 dude they even stole the ending - like I knew it was coming but it was still a disappointment 😒 Also it probably seems like nothing happened because they just copied act 3, none of the rest of the play. Actually, even so not that much happens in the play, because it’s pretty much just 3 days in Emily’s life, a random day when she’s about 16, her wedding and her funeral. But yeah, the play is all about finding the beauty in daily life lol
I get what you’re saying, but as someone who has never heard about this play, I think this reference is innocent especially if people (like me) learn about the old play thanks to the reference (this is not the first time Riverdale has referenced/paid tribute to other plays, so I think it’s safe to say the writers are all theater nerds, like yourself!) Also, I hate to nitpick, because like I said I know nothing about this play, but someone’s wedding day or funeral day is hardly “everyday” life, so that’s kind of a mixed message, isn’t it?
It's a reference. They didn't "steal" the lines they made a reference because earlier in the season veronica was saying she was going to star in an adaptation of our town and its probably based off of that. all the quotes that are supposedly stolen are references. you don't have to like the show but claiming its just stealing random shit is disingenuous and you look like an ass cuz you clearly don't know what you're talking about lol
As someone who has been in many polyamorous relationships, I’m gonna say no not entirely accurate but sometimes maybe 😂😂, also they 100% didn’t show the two men kiss because lesbians are “hot” and gay men are “gross”
I think it’s more because Archie and Jughead are childhood best friends, whereas in the show (it’s different in the comics), Betty and Veronica meet in high school, so they don’t have that sort of sisterly connection. Archie and Jughead are like brothers.
@@MrsCrangisMcBasketball that doesn't sound right. Childhood friends, best friends and people who've been in the same class from 1st grade to senior high/ college date and have dated.

yes to the ghost hunting video. all of the yes. i could see you showing so much appreciation for places and their energies and i feel like you would so real and respectful. much needed for youtube.
I am polyamorous. This is awful representation indeed. 1) it would’ve been integral to poly representation to show all of the numerous ongoing convos they’re each having about boundaries and feelings and styles and whatnot 2) yeah they’re all cheating on each other, which is not the same as being polyamorous (cheating is NOT consensual between all parties involved, which is what they display throughout their show, but in polyamory, all parties are informed, aware, and consenting) 3) cheating and then pulling “they’re all in a squad”… Like it doesn’t match up for the viewers, clearly doesn’t align within their own universe, and also perpetuates a gross stereotype to the general public that’s already heavily believed. 4) then they throw in that gross toxicity of “i like you the best”- comparison is the killer of love and any healthy poly practicing person would display that. Hats off to you for the vid Coop, heavily appreciate being able to have your filter for this lol
i have so many conflicting feelings about the quad thing.... like ive always loved the idea of solving a love triangle with polyamory but WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE RIVERDALE THAT DID IT
Riverdale is very confusing if you havent seen the whole show, so the show actually begins more around 2020 ish then in season 6 they got sent back to 1950 because of a comet hitting them. they then live out the rest of their lives in the 1950s so then betty is old she is in the present even though it began with them in the present as teens
@@Fruity0418 Yes so cheryl did try to fix the comet with her phoenix powers but it did not work. and tabitha tried but couldn't fix everything so they are stuck in the 50's

this whole thing is actually referencing the play Our Town by Thornton Wilder!! the main character dies & this guy tells her she can pick one day to go back to but it will be sad to watch. she hugs her mom in the kitchen and is like "you're alive??" and it goes over every character in the show & what they went on to do and how they died. the show ends with the girl giving this big monologue where she says goodbye to all the things she misses that she didn't appreciate enough while she was alive
riverdale was insane. i remember when archie goes to war and people on tumblr were trying to find out which war based on the uniform he had n everything 💀
One thing I kept in mind while getting through all of Riverdale's not-so-great seasons, was the fact that I think they were just trying to portray the show in the same way they did the Archie Comics. It just failed to translate well. The comics themselves had all kinds of different spin offs, realities, misadventures and the issues varied greatly from one another. Just my opinion though, it very well may have been horrendous writing and nothing more lol
32:07 The CW is actually known for having gay rep but never letting it be mlm or showing said rep. They'll establish "these 2 men are gay" but they never show them being intimate or even just being cute. The most youll get out of the CW when it comes to mlm relationships is holding hands, but lesbians/sapphics get screentime and scenes together. Its honestly kinda ridiculous. Ntm their writing is just kinda bad all the time. Spn has good subtext and plots for the most part, its just sometimes its executed poorly. Ig they really just dropped the ball with riverdale (This can be seen in both that scene of riverdale and just the entirety of spn (and probably other shows that they've made.))

The season (think it's 3) where they start doing a weird kinda D&D is where things went down hill. And it just more wild as it went on. The writers kept doing musical episodes too and they were SO awful. Even those who hate watched the shows couldn't get through those. I stopped watching around season 6

Or beyond.
God EVERYTIME it cut back to cooper’s rendition of walking down the stairs I lost it. I pray this becomes and recurring bit bc it’s too good
there’s no way that there are actual people that loved high school this much
@07SapphireLights these are fun to find while traveling because the stories are interesting if you only hear them once or twice.
@@louisdead6761 oh agreed. I am unfortunately employed by a few bars and hear them consistently hahaha.
I feel like just watching the series finale without any other context makes more coherent sense than if you were to watch the entirety of it😭
20:35 "She seems like the only character who is based in reality."
Me: *flashbacks to when she claimed that she was the queen of the bees and a witch and ran a cult*
Idk man that seems pretty based in reality
she WHAT
@@ladyyyhokage oh don't mind it, just girly things 🥰🥰
I love how Cooper “loves” Cheryl even though she the most psycho one 😂😂😂
Oh my god. This is so bad 😭 thanks for clearing it up
This is such a crazy sentence to read 😭
As a die hard Supernatural fan that has never seen Riverdale, it sounds like a normal show! LoL Gotta love those CW shows.
I just got whiplash ten times WHAT
That’s insane
BRO WHEN JUGHEAD WAS TALKING AT THE BEGINNING (9:31) THEY FULL ON STOLE HIS AND BETTY’S LINES. THOSE ARE ALMOST WORD FOR WORD FROM A PLAY CALLED “OUR TOWN”
Especially the
B: why should it be painful?
J: Because you won’t just be living that day, you’ll be seeing yourself live it
LOWKEY LIVID ITS ALMOST WORD FOR WORD- EMILY (from the play) DOES NOT DESERVE THIS DISRESPECT
It’s from the graveyard (act 3) when she’s ALREADY dead, not just about to die, and she being buried. It’s actually really emotional when acted well, all of the ghosts in the graveyard warn her not to go back because they know it will hurt her, but she goes back and relives her 12th birthday and has a monologue about appreciating life for everyday that you have, especially the small things that we as humans tend to overlook. I did this play last year that’s why I remember it so well lol
ALSO
14:02 is from the play too!! Wth Riverdale lol
You probably wouldn’t have the context if you watched the other episodes, cuz it’s mostly based on the play 💀
BRUH this is so frustrating because it makes sense in the context of the play that she’s like “is this real or a dream?” Because she’s already been clearly established as dead BRUH
49:50 dude they even stole the ending - like I knew it was coming but it was still a disappointment 😒
Also it probably seems like nothing happened because they just copied act 3, none of the rest of the play. Actually, even so not that much happens in the play, because it’s pretty much just 3 days in Emily’s life, a random day when she’s about 16, her wedding and her funeral. But yeah, the play is all about finding the beauty in daily life lol
I was looking for this comment!! It just screams bad knock off Our Town ending 😭
Yeah everyone comparing it to Scrooge and I’m here like “wait, was that Our Town?”
I *knew* that was familiar from somewhere!!
@@Zzz-ff1np Yeah, that’s a good point. It felt like they were all hooking up though, never really officially dating or in relationships with each other. Not during their poly phase, at least.
@@MrsCrangisMcBasketballi think its more just bad/lazy writing of polyamory + male actors being uncomfortable playing a gay character
Was literally gonna say that!
The thing with Riverdale is that you can just watch the seasons without watching the other ones because they completely forget about the entire plot every season.
i absolutely love coopers enthusiasm about the hard work that drag queens put in
He absolutely needs to be in a ghost hunting video I think we would all watch that 😂
definitely lmao
He's already filmed it and said it will be uploaded for Halloween (or maybe early October, I can't remember)
Definitely, that would be awesome hahaha
when cooper posts, it turns into the best day ever
edit: as someone who (unfortunately) is addicted to Riverdale, seeing him so confused is so funny cuz it's the most bizarre show
yes
True
Thinking bout praying to this 🙏
@@And-ii6ym your a real one, I'm thinking about praying to you 🙏
@@tallyzeditzi choked about this comment XD
Thank you Roberto for teaching a generation of future or aspiring writers that if nothing else, no matter what bad things befall your writing, no matter how many edits you have to do, no matter what self doubt you’ll come across over and over… rest assured that it could be worse.
At least you had nothing to do with writing Riverdale.
yes to the ghost hunting video. all of the yes. i could see you showing so much appreciation for places and their energies and i feel like you would so real and respectful. much needed for youtube.
Have you heard of that poly reality dating show on peacock 😅
i have so many conflicting feelings about the quad thing.... like ive always loved the idea of solving a love triangle with polyamory but WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE RIVERDALE THAT DID IT
In an alternative universe, Cooper would star in Riverdale 👀
Let’s be fr he’d be Jughead😂
A better one 😅
Riverdale is very confusing if you havent seen the whole show, so the show actually begins more around 2020 ish then in season 6 they got sent back to 1950 because of a comet hitting them. they then live out the rest of their lives in the 1950s so then betty is old she is in the present even though it began with them in the present as teens
@@choccy_bagel(he has no idea about the angel and the phenix powers that fixed everything ever)
I'm so sorry, A TIME TRAVELING FUCKING COMET????? HOW THS FUCK DOES THAT WORK???????? HOLY SHIT I NEED TO WATCH IT NOW.
Um. What?
@@Fruity0418 Yes so cheryl did try to fix the comet with her phoenix powers but it did not work. and tabitha tried but couldn't fix everything so they are stuck in the 50's
thanks this cleared up NOTHING
as a former Riverdale watcher I thoroughly enjoyed watching Cooper call Cheryl normal like she wasn't the craziest mf in the show :)
I REALLY want Cooper to make a series of him reacting to each episode of Riverdale, I feel like it'd be SO funny
Cheryl’s literally crazy but she’s also the only character I like from this show
I love watching Cooper say everything that goes through his head. It really feels like we're going through this absurd journey with him lol
i stopped watching this show years ago, no idea they kept going. thanks for the post cooper :]
NOT THE " :] "
It brought me a lot of unexpected joy to see someone using this
I could not make it through the first season lol
I watched it up to the fourth season before I decided it was too much
@@mariahlamb2983same! I love seeing ppl use these cute lil emoticons. ;3✨
same. I was like, Ooh! Murder mystery? Cool!
and never made it past the first two episodes °^°
Cooper, I'm a very recent subscriber who just binged all your videos the past 2 days. I love how you seem to never prewatch what you're reacting to because your reactions seem so much more genuine and fun compared to other commentary youtubers! And I also love how you tell us you love us, it's so sweet. Thanks for the great video ❤
Welcome to the fam. We are all in love with him👍
I forgot I was already watching this on 1.25x, and still barely even noticed when you put Riverdale on 2x. That's how mind-numingly slow that show is.
You should go back and either watch only the first episode of every season or only the last. It’s wild how insane this show has been over the years.
he should watch the first and last episodes of every season and try to piece together everything that happened 💀💀💀
@@accaliaaaa23 I second this motion
i love how he admits to never seeing any other episode but also asks if all the things that are pay off are pay offs 😂
the show is apparently just THAT predictable 😂🤦♀️
We all have to agree that his fashion sense is so freaking awesome
Agreed
this whole thing is actually referencing the play Our Town by Thornton Wilder!! the main character dies & this guy tells her she can pick one day to go back to but it will be sad to watch. she hugs her mom in the kitchen and is like "you're alive??" and it goes over every character in the show & what they went on to do and how they died. the show ends with the girl giving this big monologue where she says goodbye to all the things she misses that she didn't appreciate enough while she was alive
cooper liking cheryl bc she acts real is so funny😭😭 we stan a sapphic queen who kept her dead twins corpse in her basement for years
I love how Cooper just predicts everything that happens right before it does.
it's so easy with this type of show, it's just so predictable
A COOPER A DAY KEEPS THE SADNESS AWAY
SO TRUE
holy crap, not even a minute in and your hair is STUNNING 🫶
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
Riverdale was based on a comic from 1941. The last episode was the only one that actually takes place when the comic does
i get and love the Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret reference and im so happy i got to hear cooper make that reference
I love this man’s chaotic energy so much
16:51 - GUSTAV SIGHTING
18:48 - MORE OF THE BOI

21:20 - Almost a carrot catastrophe

Calling Cheryl “Macy” is my favorite part of the video 😂 it’s just so randomly funny that it just stuck with me for the rest of the video
I LOVE THE HAMILTON REFERENCE, I NEED MORE COOPER HAMILTON VERSION CONTENT
i love how cooper went from bashing the show to being a drag queen. he would make a grate drag queen👌
He absolutely would 😁
His drag name could be Betty Cooper 😂

riverdale was insane. i remember when archie goes to war and people on tumblr were trying to find out which war based on the uniform he had n everything 💀
He went to war?!!! I stopped watched when he went to prison 😭😭
Just my opinion though, it very well may have been horrendous writing and nothing more lol
this is genuinely my favorite video in this platform oh my gosh i love you
32:07 The CW is actually known for having gay rep but never letting it be mlm or showing said rep. Ig they really just dropped the ball with riverdale
(This can be seen in both that scene of riverdale and just the entirety of spn (and probably other shows that they've made.))
as someone who kept up w riverdale in the beginning and now can’t stop watching cus i am too invested i can tell this is gonna be painful
I love watching Cooper when I need to turn my brain off because he basically just says everything I think!
HE GETS IT!!!!! “It’s so badly made but I love it” it’s like a modern teenager murder soap drama, like it’s awful but I can’t stop watchinggggg
4:11 he called me out on the posters of jimin EVERYWHERE 😭😭
Right like as soon as he said Jimin my brain stopped and i was like "HOW DOES HE KNOW"
He called me out as well😅 but it’s ture😂
6:45 love how he did actually end up making a ghost hunting video :D
Found another film cooper Bingerrrr. I love all his stuff so much I rewatch 10’s of times
Of course they went for the “massive exposition dump for every character” series finale route
I literally just started binge re-watching Riverdale S1 tonight after years (never got past S3) and now I see this from Cooper in the same day! Must be some Riverdale in the air😄
This is exactly what I needed today. Cooper making the same joke about Cole Sprouse in many of his videos is very funny
this episode is giving 13 year-old writing a wattpad fanfic
first 20 minutes in and i have fully deduced that cooper watches drag race. from the “read and serve attitude” bit to the entire bit about drag, and i’m LIVING for it as a drag race fan. yippee
This makes me want to go figure out wtf happened in this show lmao. I watched the first 2 seasons and they honestly weren't too bad (granted it was when I was in highschool)
Sameee! I remember a friend and I watching it every Wednesday for the first 2 seasons
I got as far as the season with the cult and underground bunker. I was waiting for the show to wrap up to see how they resolve all that, now i see they got wilder with a time-travelling angel arc and half-assed polyamory 😂 It's going to be fun going back to it
A ghost hunting video from Cooper would honestly be the best thing ever!!
Thanks for not making jokes about dementia and taking it as seriously as any other terminal illness, I appreciate you for that
The fact that Cooper knows Andy made my day. I think I'm gonna eat my couch if they don't collab.
The season (think it's 3) where they start doing a weird kinda D&D is where things went down hill. And it just more wild as it went on. The writers kept doing musical episodes too and they were SO awful. Even those who hate watched the shows couldn't get through those. I stopped watching around season 6
something about you confidently getting all the names wrong is so iconic 😂
I love watching Cooper because it feels like I’m on my friends snapchat story while they have an unhinged rant
I love how quickly Cooper is to make fun of Jughead, I'm here for it honestly
As someone who watched all the episodes of Riverdale, its so weird that Cooper has no idea what happened that season is so funny.
The cuts to “the stairs scene” by Cooper 😂😂😂😂😂❤
this turned from the worst to the best day ever! thank u cooper
I hope today is better!
The “I’m a weirdo” joke gets me every time😭
