    Hello friends! I thought I'd do this luxury jewellery collection, and whilst filming I came to a thought: Should I just go ahead and sell-off the Chanel costume jewellery pieces? What do you think?xx

      I would keep the brooches if I were you, there's so classy on a coat whether tall or short, or a jacket... I consider them as contemporary. They're an obsession of mine, though I don't wear costume jewellery but 18ct yellow and dainty. I would love to buy one if it'd be possible and should you go ahead and decide to sell them. Anyway do have a lovely evening dear, you look ravishing! xxx

    Hi Sophie, in my opinion you should sell those Chanel jewels, at most keep a couple of brooches for yourself, they are very versatile pieces. But first of all, wear those earrings David gave you more often, because they are much prettier than Ydil's IMO

      I bought the Lalage Beaumont Fontyn in medium tan last week at *esluxy* and since receiving it I have been using it and neglecting my designer collection (honeymoon period maybe) , but I was really impressed with the quality and timing, right down to how they used it. Will wear it. I wish they would make this bag in a variety of pinks (i.e. sakura pink). There are actually many options to choose from.

    Tag Heuer is exellent.

  • @christopherfeatherley
    @christopherfeatherley 5 месяцев назад +29

    Personally, I wouldn't sell your luxury jewelry. To me, fashion houses sell costume jewelry, so when I purchase them, I'm fully aware I'm not buying it for the quality.
    I think with the trend (due to the economy and understandably so) of quiet luxury on the rise and in social media constantly, it feels distasteful wearing logos. But in a few years (five or ten), when people get sick of the minimalism and miss the loudness, I think those jewelry pieces will come in very handy. It's why people always miss the boldness of the 80s
    Ultimately, it is your choice and you do what you feel you want to!

    • @suzannehall5200
      @suzannehall5200 4 месяца назад +1

      I totally agree. If you aren’t wearing them then you should sell them but now isn’t a good time. With the cost of living crisis and people not spending money, plus the current quiet luxury trend you are likely to get very little for them. I would suggest waiting, watching the market and selling them when the market price improves.

    Hi Sophie! Thank you for another great video. As for Chanel costume jewellery, I think you should sell some, but still keep the ones you like most. As you said, we all change and grow, maybe in 3-5 years you may want to wear them again.❤

    Designer costume jewellery will come back eventually, and Chanel brooches are a classic look so even if you’re not wearing them at the moment, you might want to wear them later in life and then you’ll be kicking yourself buying them again for those extortionate prices 😂😂 I wouldn’t sell all of it. Keep a few pieces. Love the jacket/ blazer you’re wearing Sophie!

    What an interesting video Sophie. I’m not personally into costume jewellery. I prefer jewellery with craftsmanship, made out of precious metals & stones (especially fond of art deco pieces).
    I personally think you should sell the Chanel costume jewellery, and use the money instead to purchase pieces from whichever reputable jeweller you prefer. Designer costume pieces don’t truly represent true luxury (which is word very vaguely used nowadays). They can be perceived as a piece of luxury by the masses, due to their brand connotations 😉.
    Apologies for the lengthy comment!

    Hi, Sophie. Sell anything you are 95% sure you won’t wear-I believe you are probably done with the Chanel costume jewelry. You might keep one of the brooches such as the enamel one as a memento of your Chanel era!

    I'm cleaning out my jewelry as well. I do this a couple of times a year. But I don't sell it. I give stuff to my nieces. Personally, I would sell whatever your gut feeling tells you to part with. Someone out there wants it. However, I think I would keep one brooch with the CC's. Something you can pin on a scarf or hairband, or scrunchie. I would probably even pin it on a plushie toy. 😅

    I'm not into logos, but I love the look of a Chanel brooch, and I love wearing brooches generally. So I've bought a lot preloved, I do think YSL does good quality costume jewellery, and while I've steered clear of the ubiquitous logo brooches, I do have a couple from them that aren't branded.
    If you're sure you are going to wear these things, then I'd definitely sell what you can, with the caveat of maybe keeping the best Chanel brooch!

    Have you considered putting your brooches on a headband or wearing as a hair pin? You maybe able to fasten o brooch onto a fabric hair clip? Or even on a choker or thin shorter chain? I think you may regret selling them because the value has gone up so much if you wanted to buy it again in 10-15 years it will be so expensive

    Hi Sophie. I used to collect luxury costume jewelry. I have Chanel, Dior, and Givenchy. You get to a certain point where you look at them and decide that it's best to own the real deal because they have real monetary value in them. If you find yourself in a bind, you can always sell them to a jeweler or pawn shop. Luxury costume jewelry isn't well made unless they are true vintage pieces. They are hard to sell, which is why I still have my luxury pieces. Maybe when the economy improves, then I can sell them off to someone else who appreciates them and get at least a good portion of my money back. Good luck in selling yours.

If you know your taste has changed and you'll never reach for them again why not sell it? Make a few bucks doing so and give someone who is in the place you were when you bought it a proper discount so they don't pay an inflated sum at Chanel.
