I worked for the Louis Vuitton Client Services center in the US, and was the top sales person for all of North America. I can say with absolute certainty, the price hikes were expressly driven by corporate greed, and as a tool to combat perceived lower class people from carrying their bags in unglamorous working or generally lower class environments. Eventually they just realized quality didn't matter as much as it seemed people would still pay for anything the logo was slapped on. Now that the economy has crashed, they're doing mass layoff internally, and actually having to focus on quality again, because easy money of the pandemic bubble economy is over. And people can't justify throwing money for something that isn't truly exceptional. So, quality ironically goes up during economic downturns.

While Chanel leather bags are common, tweed bags are even rarer.
On my first day of training at my new job, my mentor jokingly told me that if I got tired of the bag, I could throw it to her. I have a DE GM NF from 2011 that I've dragged all over the place with me. The canvas is ridiculously tough. I am still trying to find it's replacement for a carry on item that goes under the seat, it fits perfectly. The canvas of newer bags is not as thick, it just feels more fragile. I think mine was around $1300 with tax, it has more than paid for itself. I generally feel that it seems like most everyone has this bag, but I still get random compliments on it, and it's a conversation starter when I see people with NFs used as carry ons.
Hi Sophie! I have 2nd edition Nano Speedy ( non detachable crossbody) and the new model. And i have to say, i love the new model. You can adjust the crosboddy strap, it is removable so you can carry it top handle which i love doing during more classy events and also, it is with treated vachetta. I’ve had it for years now and it has been a few rainy days and it still looks perfect. I think the Inside Out is a cute little big and I plan to get it. It looks like a handbag and that little pouch is great. Generally, I’m not a Neverfull fan-it’s not really a purse and is so common. But, I do have one in the special summer versions. When I carry it I keep the sides drawn in.
Yes, you are late to the party Sophie. I know you found the original Neverfull too floppy (as did I) But I am tempted by this as seems more structured and can be worn different ways!
The denim pleaty was the first LV I ever wanted but I couldn’t manage to get it because it was so popular here. I see them used from time to time, but I’m not sure I’d use it and I think it would be an emotional purchase that I might regret. It totally has early 2000’s vibe.
@@LouvuiLove fingers crossed! I’m a little picky about the condition. Just when I think I found one, I go check it out and there is frayed fabric or pen marks all over the interior. Some day! 🤞
Interesting take on the Speedy, but I don't understand what the attraction is for the "nano" size handbags. I see such tiny bags, they look like they'd be more appropriate as an accessory for toy doll. Not just the Speedy! I think that every Designer has those teeny tiny bags. However, I'm 5'10" - I'm slim, but I still think those tiny bags look odd on tall people. When a tall person wears a 3/4 sleeve, an ankle length pant (jeans are OK), they look like they've bought the wrong size! I think tiny bags have to have some proportion to your body & shouldn't be worn with anything voluminous or layered.
I won’t buy from LV again, I got stuff from 2004-2011 and it’s amazing, they are still perfect, but the quality now is not worth the money, I found so many other excellent luxury bags from different brands, no more LV, Chanel or YSL for me. Tanner Leatherstein changed my life 😂
I love it as well, and think it will be a great everyday bag......but, 2k, in this climate I just can't justify it. I might start a money pot and see if I can save that way and chuck money in as ans when, that way the cost would not hurt as much......I hope lol xxx Great content as always❤
I just got the LV croisette bag 2 days ago but in the grey and white checkered pattern. It’s one you don’t see very often anymore. I don’t know if it’s dated but I don’t care. The fact that you don’t see that pattern too often anymore makes me like it more 😂😢😅
This is completely off topic but hopefully you can answer my question. We are thinking about buying a Bentley. Do you think it is worth the money for the Speed? I would be curious why you got rid of yours. Your videos are some of my favorites.
With the exception of a lv perfume - I’ve not purchased in store since pre Covid ( I have purchased pre loved ) but I’ve a good collection & the new prices are crazy
Hi Sophie! I loved your video. It’s funny how you and I have both suddenly started looking at LV! What do you think to the Speedy P9? I’ve heard it feels amazing and is quite different to the standard speedy. Xx
Back when they originally launched the NF, people actually turn the bags inside out! It wasn’t a feature but it was done by several people - they were frowned upon. Now LV introduces it, it becomes a trend again.
I understand quite a lot of you not keen on the Neverfull. But from a fashion era/ icon point of view, the Neverfull launched in 2007, and that style has been copied by a lot of brands from then till now. It is not easy to design a classic, iconic bag. Look at how many bags styles out there, nothing last. To me, LV Neverfull is the same as Chanel classic flap, and the Birkin and Kelly. I own all of them except Birkin (don’t like it no strap). All are my go-to bags. The Neverfull I bought when it was first launched, I think it was £350. It shot up in price ever since. Buy wisely is the key, don’t buy based on influencers that brainwash you to buy. Remember they won’t buy with their own money, in fact, they are paid to sell those unwanted bags, so you will be the fools to buy them.❤❤
P.S.I have a Noe Bucket bag as love the history behind it being designed as a champagne bottle carrier!!! So love the thought of a structured Neverfull
I heard they are bringing back the Murakami multicolor, my fav LV line. I have acquired 5 multicolor pieces in the last month lol (2 petit noe's, 2 lodge pm's and a trouville) before prices start to skyrocket. I have noticed they go really fast in the preloved market.
I throughly enjoy your videos and love your point of view! But, I refuse to pay these prices on bags that don’t even have a production price of over $600.00. Their logo is not worth an extra 1000 to 2000 dollars. I just can’t do it anymore.
@SophieShohetOfficial it is called Rowan Satchel Bag, i like the mini and the small version. Saw them in Portsmouth just a couple of days ago, loved the dark stone one( taupe) and the maple ( a dark chocolate brown). Also, the opening on the Rowan makes it better to look into the bag compared to the Speedy. You will see for yourself what i mean.
Exactly 2 years ago in Dec I bought myself LV Neo Noe in canvas with pink for 1550 euro, yesterday I’ve cheched and the price is 1900 euro. They are mad😱 Now I would never pay that amount
The “almost” funny thing IS that you could ALWAYS turn the Neverfull inside out and wear the coated canvas inside and regular canvas lining outside. I went on a luxury house boycott last year…these continuous price changes ARE out of control. It’s am now only purchasing vintage from trusted sellers with authentication second party services. I just purchased an LV Deauville to add to my luggage collection. It is going to need some restoration work but at the price I paid, I am happy to have a piece with patina and good construction…Happy Autumn! 🧡🍁🧡
Thanks for another great video! Interestingly, it helped me realize something I didn't realize I had been thinking. When you showed the Neverfull BB on screen in fuchsia, i thought it looked great and fresh. When I saw it in Mongram, I felt so very let down. I realized that, to me, the monogram and ebene damier are what is making LV bags look tired and fake. Everything you showed from the website that wasn't brown looked great to me, though. I think that, with all the LV hype and a market flooded with fakes over recent years, I've become extremely "LV brown"ed-out. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Hi there, I’m so happy you will be joining us on the dark side lol! I know how much you’ve hated the neverfull over the years so it’s refreshing for you to have finally fallen for it 😬 OK so, I own the original version of the MM and the PM monogram and I love my PM so so much because it fits my laptop perfectly which is a 13 inch and whatever else bits I need for the day. I have the rose ballerina in the MM which is or was at the time a highly sought after color, and excited to pull her out of the closet again. Can’t wait to see what you end up getting! I love all types of handbags of all brands with the luxury or contemporary and I don’t really care where there’s something appears to be too mainstream. I just love what I love and if it works for me, then that’s what I’m doing. It’s funny because if you wait, long enough, everything comes right back around. Circle of life!
I agree; I love what I love whether it’s Longchamp or Chanel, Hermes or anything that I fall in love with…I’ve been collecting for around 40 years and have no plans to stop. 😂
I went to Studio Augusta when I went to Paris in the summer. I bought Monceau at *topluxs* to match. My only regret is not purchasing more. I really hope to get a mini Marley one day.
I would say the LV is doing pretty well with their Pharrell Williams Lines. the Tyler Creator line was a complete sell through. PreFall '24 Mens was a classic.
The neverfull bb is really cute but the vechatta is a nightmare… when its dark and dirty looking, replacing the vechetta is expensive. I recently saw someone carrying a neverfull with dirty looking vechatta, it really brings down her overall appearance, luxe bag or not.
I have used my neverfull since 2016/17 as a beach bag as well as a carry all, day to day. The leather is very dark, which I like, as it shows that the bag has had a life and not just been kept in a box. Will I replace the leather at some point, probably yes, but not yet.
I rather like the new mini Neverfull, though i would never pay the money for one. If you want a closer look, a US youtuber called WINNIE B LV recently bought one. Thank you for the video!

@@lindamurphy3969 hello lovely Linda! The pleaty is actually on my hit list! I hope to add it soon!!xx
If you can get the OG get one. I got a vintage pleaty in blue and it’s such a cute bag. I need the green ☺️
@@LouvuiLove fingers crossed! I’m a little picky about the condition. Just when I think I found one, I go check it out and there is frayed fabric or pen marks all over the interior. Some day! 🤞
@@lindamurphy3969 yes me too. I was lucky and hot one in excellent condition. No frayed corners and only light use ☺️
Tanner Leatherstein changed my life
😂
I love it as well, and think it will be a great everyday bag......but, 2k, in this climate I just can't justify it. I might start a money pot and see if I can save that way and chuck money in as ans when, that way the cost would not hurt as much......I hope lol xxx Great content as always❤
I just got the LV croisette bag 2 days ago but in the grey and white checkered pattern. It’s one you don’t see very often anymore. I don’t know if it’s dated but I don’t care. The fact that you don’t see that pattern too often anymore makes me like it more 😂😢😅
I mean there’s only so many people who can drop like 10k on a bag. I think LV is having to eat a little coated canvas crow.
Xx
3:04 LOL that is cute, but you’re right Sophie they were doing that for a time 😭🤣💕👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Agree with you fully on all these bags…I love that neverfull bb!
Remember they won’t buy with their own money, in fact, they are paid to sell those unwanted bags, so you will be the fools to buy them.❤❤
Omg yes… the 2000scare back especially skinny jeans, juicy couture, etc
Has anyone noticed the speedy is not available on the LV website? The bandolier is the only option available.
My SA told me that Speedy without the shoulder strap won't be produced anymore. They will only have Bandoulière version of every Speedy from now on.
@@Vjestica7 thank you for letting me know. My LV is four hours away, so I only get to shop online.
P.S.I have a Noe Bucket bag as love the history behind it being designed as a champagne bottle carrier!!! So love the thought of a structured Neverfull
HEY *xbagy* !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day.
The reverse neverfull I like 💜
What a gorgeous clothes. Love this color too *amzclothes* .
there are also big discounts and good customer service *suluxy* .
Itty bitty baby neverful! Yes❤
I love you so much! I recently just found your *topluxs* and I’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life.
Get it. I have it for Christmas. It's up to 10.weeks.lead time...
Lv has raised their prices every year I like the old style better they just changing their style
Coach has Rowan bag very similar to the Speedy. And looks better in my opinion.
@@TheAlinaCretu I do love Coach, especially Coachtopia 🩷 I will check out the bag you mention 🥰xx
I just received my Rowan this weekend and love it so far. Great alternative to the Speedy plus its leather!
I totally get you!! I think similar, about the monogram in particular xx
Good review. Thank you!
God bless this woman! Her *xbagy* bag is amazing
Hi Sophie!!!! A whole 1hr late, sorry. Off to watch now. Hugs xx
Well I must be waaay late as I ALWAYS thought the Neverfull was ALWAYS reversible? My SACshowed me that 10 yrs ago when I bought mine 😮
My first bag was a LV speedy, it was under 900€ back in the day 😮😮😮
Hi there, I’m so happy you will be joining us on the dark side lol!
I love the neverfull it's a classic
What can I say, business after all, It's just up to us if we get tempted and grab it or just ignore it.
Very beautiful bag
Love your video ❤❤❤
This bag is as stupid as the multi pochette. I’m an LV fan but this is a big no from me.
I would say the LV is doing pretty well with their Pharrell Williams Lines. the Tyler Creator line was a complete sell through. PreFall '24 Mens was a classic.
Omggg you’ve influenced me!
Hello Autumn!!MOMCOCO bag collection has grown a lot. They are beautiful. Beautiful toys. It’s a great size for me. Congrats on you new bag.
The neverfull bb is really cute but the vechatta is a nightmare… when its dark and dirty looking, replacing the vechetta is expensive. I recently saw someone carrying a neverfull with dirty looking vechatta, it really brings down her overall appearance, luxe bag or not.
It's easy to clean and keep clean if you do it on a regular basis.
I have used my neverfull since 2016/17 as a beach bag as well as a carry all, day to day. The leather is very dark, which I like, as it shows that the bag has had a life and not just been kept in a box.
Will I replace the leather at some point, probably yes, but not yet.
Wore my LV multicolor blanc lodge bag and boy did I receive so much “Gen Z gaze” 😂
I rather like the new mini Neverfull, though i would never pay the money for one. If you want a closer look, a US youtuber called WINNIE B LV recently bought one. Thank you for the video!
Not lined in red suede. These were lined with a suede look microfiber called Alcantara which was erroneously confused with animal based suede.
YSL is the only brand that lowered their price recently 😂🙈
Prada lowered on their crystal bags 😂
Sorry, that is still a ridiculous price and not worth the money.
I have the white multi colored speedy n just love it. It's an oldie by goodie🎉Ev
@@evamin24_63 it’s a stunning bag!!xx
I have a 2016 neverfull and turn it inside out to clean, so i already have the 'new' one 😉
I like the smaller Neverfull size but the guitar style strap seems overpowering for the size.
I know what you mean!xx
I love them.
LV is soo over lol
Agree
I like the croissant bag.
This is why they said they put them on a “waitlist” so they can save all the canvas and then up charge you for it
I have both the original speedy and neverfull. But if LV wants to bring back Y2K bring back the papillon
It has strap too
