Hi Amoeba Sisters, I am going to have my last Biology exam tomorrow. By last, I really mean that I probably won't touch a biology quiz ever again in my life.(I think) I mean, I am from an engineering school, but the school forces students to take Bio in their first year.(Why is biology important for engineering students? That is a topic for another day.) Over this one year of studying Biology I have taken a liking for it, partially thanks to your videos. Your videos are informative, the animations are cute you have a huge enthusiasm for teaching the subject. Although my academics with biology may have come to an end, I will still continue to watch your videos in the future. Good work and thank you for having such great videos.
I'm Studying at the Swedish Agricultural University and I love your videos. The animations, explanations and the anecdotes makes it more fun and easier to remember. It is even possible to learn from your videos while crying of stress, the animations makes it feel better :') Thanks a lot! /Veterinarian nurse student
I am a retired teacher of 34 years - primarily elementary grades, but did do some middle school. Using your videos to help my son pass a required course in bio at a local community college. The prof told the kids he wasn't going to lecture - they could just use that time to read the book. Only shows up for the labs - to supervise. Kids have to read chapters and take multiple choice/true/false tests ( probably because it can be scanned and graded). Guy is doing as little work as possible - which infuriates me! Thanks for making this whole experience for my son a little less frustrating with your excellent videos. If I could I would recommend that the prof's pay go to you - since you taught him.
Amoeba Sisters... I love you! I am a visual learner. Your simplified mnemonics and animated illustrations makes it stick to my brain. This has been enlightening. Thank you so much for letting me understand in a simplified illustration these complicated concepts that I had a hard time learning in undergraduate. Now, I am in Grad School and how I wish we can transform education in this way. Very engaging! Love the gift boxes of chromosomes from mom and dad!

Great video! Important information I gained watching this video is that DNA codes for your traits, and your cells can't function without it. DNA is a type of nucleic acid that stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. Nucleic acids are a type of biomolecule that are up made up of building blocks called nucleotides.
