Really well balanced conclusion. Sean is a great lad that’s put in his shift for the toon. But he’s not the player that’s going to take us to the next level. It’s a pity, but it’s both sport and business. We need to step up
I’ve no issue with Craig Hope breaking the Longstaff story and saying we have to “sell to buy” in the January window. But he’s now saying this was the case during the Guehi saga. That’s new to me!
Your begging for this……He fits the criteria of our mid table status perfectly. So please, don’t overly accentuate our player profile at the club & if we lose against Brentford tonight…chin up lad.HWTL
It’s either vision or football intelligence he’s missing that isn’t gonna magically itself from nowhere at this point. That said, he has some great strengths and would be a total shame to lose him
We've got to start being ruthless if we want to consistently find ourselves on an upward trajectory - so yes, let's sell Longstaff. Because one thing's for certain, I'm quite sure that the PIF board will be ruthless if we can't make a decent fist of pushing for a European place. Sell Miggy. Keep Tripps, because Tino definitely needs a break. And honestly, I'd cash in on Barnes too - we've got Gordon on the left and Big Joe can cover that position well too.
Sean Longstaff has lived the dream by playing for his home club in both the Premier and Champions leagues and along the way it has made him into a multi-millionaire. However Sean, Almirón and some others are simply just not good enough to take Newcastle United to the next level so the time has come to move them on.
Good bit of content but £15 million will only allow you to spend £75 million with the understanding that who you bring in is on the same wage as Longstaff. I’d say that £15 million plus Longstaffs wages off the books might enable us to spend maybe £40/£50 million. Good bit of business if we can replace him with a cheap/cheaper young option and use the rest to help fund an another position… ultimately need to find a buyer first
While we're still in two cups and trying to qualify for europe this season letting squad players go for peanuts in january is stupidity, if we get a few big injuries we'll be thin on numbers. Eddie won't be selling longstaff this jan, tripps/miggy maybe will leave but no one else will.
i,ve said for a long time now i think Sean will go to the likes of Boro a local club or a lower premier league club i.e .Bournemouth or Palace in part ex for Guehi..or a championship club like Burnley or Leeds...Ever More number one nufc channel ...
Longstaff has been a great servant to the club but we need to move on. Hes not as good as he was before, perhaps a move would benefit both the club and the player but I don’t think he fits the system.
Can we have a new manager whilst we’re at it? Henry winter has been crawling up howes arse, he’s a special guy apparently, not that he’d want him managing the club he supports like
Longy has been a great servant, but as we develop, quality levels are a real boundary for him. Financially it is a no brainer, £20-£30m means £60-£90m to the transfer kitty. 200+ games, fair play, he's lived the dream 🖤🤍
Aleluia. Him, Wilson, Trippier and Almiron are overdue. At the moment Seanis handy in the bench. If Willock and Miley prove fitness then no doubt, goodbye. Doing nothing there those 4 and Osula I don't even get why we bothered really. Now we have another problem basically
I think what you mean is that Longstaff is not first-team top-half-table premier league level. True enough. But.....He is 100% premier league level. He'd get plenty of playing time on half of the PL teams.
Barnes is good with Gordon if we are in European competition. Same with Botman/Burn. Do need to sell Longstaff, Bruno/Tonali/Joelinton/Willock/Miley are 5 squad players of a 3 man midfield EDIT: plus your idea of Barnes as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 has merit
Id sell we need to move on players like Sean although hes been a great servant Miley is a much better , younger prospect. Id rather sell the likes of Trippier, Miggy etc to raise funds than our blue chip players. Selling the likes of Isaac, Bruno, would be a step backwards and completely crazy in my opinion.
We could put a list of 11 other players who need to be moved on with Shaun , this is no disrespect to Shaun or anyone else but he’s just not good enough, if you look at the likes a Chelsea their second 11 is nearly just as good as their first we struggled to beat their second team , so the likes of longstaff miggy ect need to be moved on along with trips and burn and shcar they have past their best and aren’t good enough to be in the squad if we want top 6
@albertbell7120 Firstly I never said he wasn't and secondly I stand by my opinion. Newcastle will want more than anyone is willing to pay. Newcastle can't shift deadwood as easily as you or anyone else likes to think.
Partly agree. Can't see any PL club wanting him, unless he's free or being sold very cheaply. Only hope to sell him will be if a championship team looking to push for promotion is interested. Then they will not want to pay too much. Toon will struggle to get a decent price for him
Shaun seems like a great lad but it is time to cash in and invest in the squad.
Really well balanced conclusion. Sean is a great lad that’s put in his shift for the toon. But he’s not the player that’s going to take us to the next level. It’s a pity, but it’s both sport and business. We need to step up
Couldn't agree more.
Longstaff runs all day long but he doesn’t tackle or make attacking passes. Need to move him on to allow purchases.
Would sell for sure as Miley is a ready made replacement younger and a much higher ceiling it is a no brainer for me
It ought to. We have to kick on.
Good lad and a really decent squad player. I'd like to keep him but I'll understand if they need to sell him. PSR is absolute bullshit
In desperate need of RW balance and CB. These are the priorities
I’ve no issue with Craig Hope breaking the Longstaff story and saying we have to “sell to buy” in the January window. But he’s now saying this was the case during the Guehi saga. That’s new to me!
I heard Dubravka has agreed a move to Saudi Arabia? Sell Longstaff for the pure PSR profit.
Video coming mate 👌
Would be a sobering thought selling Bruno and therefore keeping Longstaff that it my opinion is a massive step backwards but it could happen for sure
No he's a player we need
I like Sean but it's time for him to go, and Miggy and Murphy and a few more. They've done their job good luck to them but we need better quality.
🥳 not before time!
I have said this on various platforms mate we need to spend and take the points?? The squad we would have will not get relegated 😊
PSR is just like the governments dictate on the number of EV's you have to sell, both totally illegal in my view but you cant challenge them, YET.
His work workrates very similar to milner but Milner was levels above has a player and could play more positions
Your begging for this……He fits the criteria of our mid table status perfectly. So please, don’t overly accentuate our player profile at the club & if we lose against Brentford tonight…chin up lad.HWTL

You were up early this morning 😴🌄
Always! 🤣

He can't leave sorry. We need him in the squid
Sorry about that
Personally I would let him go, he’s been a good servant but time to move on.
Where are all these big sponsorship deals we were supposed to be getting and we should have a big push to get rid of the dead wood Chris
Longstaff has been a great servant to the club but we need to move on. Hes not as good as he was before, perhaps a move would benefit both the club and the player but I don’t think he fits the system.
Sean might get a game with Scunthorpe... 😏
Otherwise sell Bruno ?

Good video. PSR is an absolute joke. We all know why it was brought in. Corrupt to the core.
Aleluia. Him, Wilson, Trippier and Almiron are overdue. At the moment Seanis handy in the bench. If Willock and Miley prove fitness then no doubt, goodbye. Doing nothing there those 4 and Osula I don't even get why we bothered really. Now we have another problem basically

@ no chance

Tonal is potentially our best player , remember we only got him because of his gambling ! Tonali is better than a squad player .
i'd move him on
Think we will move miggy and trips on
After tonalis performance tonight I’d get rid of longy and play miley more
He peaked against PSG like most of the team and the manager did. It’s time to go.
Id sell we need to move on players like Sean although hes been a great servant Miley is a much better , younger prospect.

we should sell longy we have miley to take his place tbf

I dount anyone will want him.
That’s utter 🤮 mate he’s been a great servant give him a bit of respect … you a macum.?
Why? he’s been a great player for the club.

Forest have him all day long so would most teams outside the top 6
