I guess once they decide to go ahead with it, they need to order all the parts to be manufactured in China. So that would take a fair while. I guess 6 months or more. But Wayne would probably know.
love it! please bring it to the US. if the head is that big, wait till you start on the skirt. tho, I know how much you "love" working on repeating parts. Those half spheres will be like working on the train tracks on the DeLorean.
I like that the dome chassis is made up of a single piece, rather than the skeleton of many parts like the R2D2 or the Enterprise. I imagine it will reduce the risk of poorly aligned panels when the outer skin is added.
Just looked on the hachette part works website looks like the dalek has now been released as a full run really hoping to see you complete this build coz the dalek does look amazing 😍

Have just had this released in my Newsagents so have subscribed to the build. If there is one thing I learnt from building the Terminator T800 and R2D2 is the circuit boards can stop functioning after a while so I always buy an extra issue of any issue that contains a circuit board because to try and get them further down the line or after the build is complete you end up paying silly money on Ebay.
Wayne, I know this isn't the R2 build, but I just finished it and it all worked from the start, app and all. So, thank you for the build. I'm currently collecting all the parts for the Enterprise D. So once again, Thank you.
If they have pulled the trial early it normally means it's going to be released early the last one I know that did that was the Warhammer stormbringer magazine which they ended the trial after two issues instead of the normal 4 it was released less than 6 months after

I don't usually buy partworks (got the Delorean though!) and I already have a full size Dalek... but this does look awesome
A bit of Dalek trivia here. Did you know when Karen Gillan played on Dr. Who because she is 5' 11", 180.34cm tall they redesigned the Dalek to be a little taller to fit her size on screen.

These 'trials' make ZERO financial sense. Making the molds for these parts is ridiculously expensive and the only way to justify that cost is by selling lots of kits. Of course, before you make the molds you must design the entire model. Again, ridiculously expensive. Now that the molds and design are made you're going to throw them out??? I don't get it.
@@jimmyporter8941 That makes sense UNLESS they don't proceed with the offering. They've already spent a fortune on tooling. It's a little late to back out.
Rather baffled with hachette at the moment, after a while I received a update with a dispatch date so thought the dalek was given the green light, still not visible in their website, I sent hachette a message, and they said it was just a trial xyz, it’s very odd to give me a dispatch date if it’s not going ahead, very stumped 😕🙈
I'm getting delivery Monday than another end of month ,got email from royal mail for hatchet part works parcel so not sure what that is than second at end of month

Exterminate is way too aggressive for the modern sensitive woke audience. They say 'Exasperate' now and be all fluffy and dancey. 😂The trouble with trials is they leave you with unfinished and often undisplayable projects.

I just worked out the cost if they produce all the parts that they say it will take and it will cost over £1600! So not very cheep.
All these models are around that price. I've done about 24 of them

Maybe it's to guage how many people will buy the series. So they know how many parts to order from the factory.

It's better to make a handful of moulds to see if people will buy it, compared to making moulds for the entire dalek just for it to not sell well
