I think a good solution to Protoss early game is reducing the spawn time and warp in cooldown time of Gateway units. Gives them more to work with and doesn't scale too heavily into the late game since most the units you want to be rolling with aren't from the Gateway. Even if it's just for Adepts, Zealots and maybe Stalkers, I think it would help them recover from losses.
The nydusworm play reminds me back in SC2 wings of liberty i sometimes used 2 Nydusworms on hotkeys to mine expansions and build most of the hatcheries in main base. Bronze league strats......
Fins are the world's unexpected monsters. Like you don't expect much but then they out here pulling some of the most wildest stuff with casual nonchalance
Also he abuses Vipers. Reynor also won in matches where he uses them, and lost the matches that he went heavy Brood. Viper is totally risk free way to kill high value targets. The only time I think it's not I-Win button is against marine balls (and even in that case, abducting all the Medivac for free will kill Terran)

Might be ,but i would say make Viper cost like na extra 15/20 gas and BUFF hydra with some extra healing factor, so they can be player more cost effective

Maybe that is the solution to protoss early game you were talking about, it is the only race which do not have a 50 mineral no gas unit which you can mass easily. Lets redesign adepts to be massable ranged 50 mineral unit. If cyclone can get new role, adepts can too :)
Give the nexus a buff so that shield batteries built in range of the nexus spawn with +50 energy. Then you can fine tune the number while keeping the offensive potential low. Adding the cost of a nexus to a void ray rush should help keep it weak.
I'd say it's both the early AND lategame for protoss that struggle. Terrans have ghosts to deal with broodlords and lurkers, protoss only has tempests and those get hard countered by vipers.

It was supposed to help them with their early game defense, but it ended up turning every game into "snipe/defend the core" because it was so important for protoss. They couldn't function without it. Eventually the unit got removed, and strategic recall was added to the nexus to take its place.
In games like Game 2, when Zerg masses lurkers, why don’t more pro-Protoss players make a few tempests with the upgrade mixed in with the carriers? Just more to micro, forces vipers out? I’ve found that it’s helped in my games, so just curious why it comes out of favour in the pros

I think Templar warping in w/ enough energy for a storm would be a very good balance change to test out, at the least. May turn out to be OP, but it may also be something that gives Protoss the edge they need in order to win tourneys. We'd certainly see a lot more Templar drops in mineral lines if that change were made!
PvZ always looks well matched, with both sides using every tool at their disposal. They only really hate using swarm hosts and void rays, and thats fair for the matchup. In terran games it always feels like terran is using a quarter of its real power, they can lose half their unit roster and still win games.
The way to fix protoss being susceptable to losses early game is easy. Give them a cheap early game unit. The problem is that their units are basically double that or terran and zerg. A zealot does twice the damage but costs twice as much. So when you lose 1 unit it's actually more like you are losing 2. And as you have mentioned Lowko. You can't split those units and have 1 zergling attack/scout while 1 defends. So the solution? Just give protoss a 50 mineral early game unit that does 6 damage and builds in the same time a marine does. If the protoss want to skip that unit and play like normal, fine. If they want to play safer and use it to avoid an early game loss, that's great too.
question from an amateur who only watches... But is Protoss a kinda turtly faction in the late game? I feel like their harassement tools are underwhelming. Cuz oracles, zealots, dark templars suck so much. And adepts are just used once in the early game, maybe as a semi all-in or something. But they have no place later in the game.
Interceptors are simply to durable, thats the whole protoss problem for zerg. They need less shield and less hp, that will totally fix protoss lategame
The thing serral does is more like a broodwar player. I see this engagement is a loss. Reynor would run away. Serral fights it out to get the value out of it when he knows he is going to lose those units anyway. Raynor runs the units away loses the value and they die too
Dude I swear, time and time again I see in PvZ that protoss just needs to GOOOO. They have the army alot of the time but they just dance around. Then they finally do go and kick lurker ass but they have been beaten down all game and can't remax because they have no economy. It just seems like they just need the confidence or something I don't get it.
Actually the pros r quite robotic. Not smart kind. The very dumb kind. Even a kid who's smart and choose to play this game the kid woukd beat everyone of them. It's strategy game. But very few strategy r used. I hope storm gate is different
