Nah. McConnell's evil and one of the worst people in US politics, but he's not slimy. He's always been pretty upfront (as far as congress people go) about his disdain for democracy and his desire to line his own pockets at the expense of everyone else.
I'm not sure if I'd use the word "human", since McConnell seems to lack so many human traits. For example, he doesn't seem to really hold any values, and thus does not have any cognitive dissonance when being completely dishonest and contradicting himself.

This may be an unnecessarily combative take on it, but I see their confidence as similar to the actions undertaken by most nazi soldiers - had they been victorious, history would've remembered them as pioneering heroes who'd done a necessary evil but were to be admired for it. Since they lost, though, they're seen as the scum they are and it becomes "evidence of crime" rather than "documentation of heroism".

My mom bought us my pillows before we learned the my pillow guy was insane (she liked that it was an MN based company and he hired former convicts to give them a second chance). I would not recommend buying them for moral reasons, but I would also not recommend buying them for quality reasons. They do not hold up.
My mom bought me one when I was like 14 when they first came out. It was okay (compared to the $3 pillows) for like a week. Then it got super flat and lumpy. It was on the $20 “as seen on TV!” aisle at Walmart. 🙄 I haven’t been inside of a Walmart in a year now but the last time I went they still sold them in that section.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure most of the Republicans in congress are falling in line with Trump's bullshit because they've realized that FAR too much of the Republican voters are in Trump's cult at this point and that they'll never be able to be able to win an election if they don't follow with Trump's bullshit. They've basically realized that they've dug themselves into a hole that they can't dig themselves out of and instead of taking the consequences for their actions they're just going to continue to dig that hole deeper.
I'd laugh at such a perfect example of shooting yourself in the foot from the Republican party if this whole situation wasn't a powder keg on the verge of explosion.
