- This is version 2 of my log arch, which is my fist try at metal fabrication. I just thought version 1 was a little flimsy, so I cut it apart and made it better, faster, stronger. In this video I use version 2 for the first time.
I love your arch, that said, on the front where the bottom comes to a point, ouch, I would hit my head every time I got around it.
I love the arch, i love everything about it! Great design and bery well thought out. Great job. You just gave me some other way to do things i hadn't thought of. Thanks
Best Log Arch I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. That means a lot to me. Really.
Outstanding job on the arch! Must build one too, and this is a tremendous help. Thank you for taking the time to video in addition to all the work! My thought is to build it wide enough to straddle the Woodland Mills saw, to be able to set the log right down on the bunks. Haven’t seen it done before, don’t know why...
(“We can rebuild him... we HAVE the technology...” now the songs playing in your head, isn’t it... you’re welcome.)
Pretty slick tool didnt even know existed about a month ago but for people that gotta move logs with say an atv or clear forrested land economically its a pretty useful tool first one I sawe built waS A CANADIAN KID PORTETTY AMAZING N ALL HE HAD was an atv to move his logs from the bush or forrest where he lived.
Nice arch
BTW: Love the canine cohort and drone footage -- well done!
Thank you, of course compliments are welcome.
Good morning Sir this is a great log arch. I built a log arch to haul logs with my quad. You thought of a lot of different things. I have to build another one for my Jeep. My sawmill will handle 36 inch by 20 feet so I have build it very strong. Thank you for sharing your build. Oh “fart smeller” was Hilarious!!!
Nice project. Congratulations from Brazil.
Thank you very much!
Great video, nice to see another channel near me, new sub from sw washington.
Thanks a lot. Glad to have you onboard.
Why did you make it so tall? Overly top heavy!
Very nice log arch !!!!
And I thought I was the only one , logging with Groucho , I love this , seen how to use my factory job log arch . Yes , educational but absolutely entertaining. My wife says Oregon is a big place and much bigger than Wales so not to worry , Batgirl is watching over you , what could possibly go wrong? News of gloves . Subscribed.
lol and thanks a lot.
Nice arch. I’ll bet you could repair your exhaust system on your truck as well.
Cleanest log set up for milling that I have seen
Thank you. The log arch certainly keeps em cleaner than skidding.

You also unload on a couple of poles.
Good job , why take the winch hook / chain off while travelling only to reattached when you get to the other end? And the hook bangs on the nice paint job
Also you have just confirmed the design of mine
How would it work making your trailer goose neck style. Putting the weight over the axel. You would be able to handle larger logs that way. I do like your idea
That is a awesome arch, would love to have one!
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
New subscriber!!🌳🌲👷♂️👍
This is a beautiful piece of equipment. I need to build a log arch for my Woodland Mills HM126 band saw mill. You mention the size of the tubing, 2z2x3/16. Where did you get the axles, wheels and tires?
Sorry for the delay in my response, and thanks for watching and commenting. My dad donated the tires and axles. I don't know where he got them, but they are "donut" tires, like spare tires for some car, I believe.
Nice unit, too big for my needs in the bush. I could build it 30% smaller and would be nice. Gotta love the electric winch. Id be pulling it with a Can Am 650
Nice log arch. I just built one but would have made it a little different if I would have come across your video before I built it. :)
Watching this is like having an out-of-body experience -- I talk "at" my equipment, (read: curse/cajole) and chatter away, aloud, all the time. I am, after all, my own best audience... However, you need to widen that wooden bridge! I was waiting for an epic fail and wondering what commentary you'd provide on that! I did, indeed get the "better, stronger, faster" reference; guess I'm approaching elderly. Where in the Beaver State are you? from the flora, I'd say South of Eugene...? Thanks for an enjoyable video from Linn County, OR.
You can't please everyone so you gotta please yourself. I do it all the time, it helps keep me a little less insane. I always hope for few or no fails, but when they happen I include them in the videos. It's a conundrum. Do I only show the good stuff that proves I'm a genius, or do I show the failures and accidents that prove I'm human? I tend to go for the latter because I want to educate as well as entertain a little. Go Beavers, I live about halfway between Salem and Portland. I lived in Los Angeles for a little over a decade, and I love my sticks and stones of the woods, even though the asphalt jungle provides many comforts as well. Thank you for your support.
What winch do you have on it
Hey Clayton. Sorry it's been awhile since I checked these comments. If you'll go to 29:52 in the video you can find the info about the winch. I got it on sale at harbor freight. I think it's 5,000 lb.
The gloves......obviously the exhaust leak blew them out of the back of the truck!
Fun video though! I'm in oregon too but you can't see my plate!
Your Log Arch is really well made and looks hell for stout. I do like the idea of the standing cable pulley in the front locking position. My approach was to have a removable front log support but two mounting points so I can haul long or shorter logs and balance them accordingly. Also nice to have an electric winch which I don't. Your log arch is well engineered and I like it. The fart smeller joke was kinda lame.
I can see you hauling three logs at once/ // just chain up each log independent 👍
За одну поездку можно 2 или 3 брёвна 🪵 брать , но в целом тележка хорошая ! Какова мощность вашего автомобиля ?! звучит мощно 💪
Cummings always make the women wet!
Do you have plan for you arch 2
Well I gave you a like. Do I have to tell you why?
No, but I appreciate it. Glad you liked it.
Heavy duty
It is the americans way trows everys thing on z ground nice just grand.
Nice log arch setup. But, remember, the thought of foolishness is sin, Proverbs 24:9. By thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned, Jesus said.
