Dirt Lifestyle Nate Takes the Wheel on DEADLY Trail Section 💀

  • Moab Rim is a sketchy trail that winds along side a massive cliff overlooking the river and highway bellow. Before setting out ‪@DirtLifestyle‬ warned me that this trail can be deadly and that ill need to be confident in my abilities as a driver as well as certain that my Toyota Tacoma is well prepared for the task. Having recently worked out all of the bugs of my Tacoma's 4x4 problems I was feeling pretty sure that i would be able to tackle this trail despite the fact that Big Mikes Marlin Crawler Tacoma was even struggling in front of me. I was doing pretty good all things considered until my rear e locker malfunction in the worst spot possible! Being a novice at this type of off road driving I had no shame in letting Nate take the wheel to see if he could force the Tacoma up a challenging section of the trail.

    Your Tacoma kicks ass when that rear locker works!
    You might think about investing in an Ox Locker in the rear and maybe an air locker or e-locker in the front.
    I know you had bad luck with that Eaton e-locker in the SASquatch, but it would probably work a lot better with the Tacoma's auto transmission that doesn't have rollback like the manual does.

    • @Maxx.Powell
      @Maxx.Powell  Год назад +3

      I have had both a topper and the diamond back. Both have their merits. My stuff is safer in the diamondback which is important to me because I carry around a lot of camera gear, but the topper obviously had more room. So if my primary use for this truck was overlanding and I needed the space, a topper would be the way to go. But as a trail rig and a daily driver the diamondback is perfect

    • @aurorastarfury
      @aurorastarfury Год назад

      I'm just guessing here, but maybe it's so that the spotter doesn't get confused and start calling out their own (the spotter's) left and right, which would be opposite of the driver's left and right? So using "driver" and "passenger" is to avoid that confusion. Clarity being prioritized over efficiency?

    • @Skylyned
      @Skylyned Год назад

      @@aurorastarfury Yeah, sounds like a good idea for new drivers but you'd think "a little to the left" would clearly be the driver's left. But you're probably right - less things for them to remember.

    • @Maxx.Powell

      Passenger and driver is always instantly understandable in any orientation to both the driver and the spotter. Any spotter could direct any driver without first establishing who’s right or left it it’s. We use the same terminology in the fire service on scene of car accidents for the same reason.
