I love how Etho set the standard at 50% for these contracts, and we'll never know whether he was just being nice or if he knew that the first deal was very likely to be copied.

They have to keep them stocked. I hope they like shoveling sand. Doc may just buy them out. And if more sand permits drop into the economy, the price bottoms out while everyone is striving to collect more to stock their shop. The only solutions are to shovel sand and keep moving farther out to find it or jack up the price to ungodly levels to discourage a purchase. "16 sand for 64 diamonds, now no one will buy it and I won't have to restock." The only trade for sand is via the wandering trader and he'll only sell 64 before locking the trade. This is going to be fun.

Charging sand for dirt. Your customers will need *_REALLY_* easy access to buying sand for this to make any sense at point of sale. Gathering sand or dirt is essentially the same job for most hermits. If you pull this off, it would be absolutely hilarious to see sand become a major currency in the shopping district.
It depends on the ratio he's selling at; if you can shovel one stack of sand to buy three or four stacks of dirt that's worth it. And to doc, dirt is basically free.
Doc putting the prices with Sand WILL have a drastic and undesired effects. For examaple I am certain you are about to create a massive black market of logs.

Fun fact, I made that bee farm in 2 hours with my friend @JustGlotz and we didn't fully test it because we both had to leave We later found a big problem with it, but Doc had already built it on Hermitcraft 💀 We've fixed it, but now it's a completely different farm, it was easier to just start from scratch
please make or link a tutorial for your farm because i'm trying to build it from this video and i had an issue with the droppers sending the bottles up, which halted the recycling :((
Really, if you think about this, the sand trading isn't out of something so petty as revenge, but for the betterment of his fellow Hermits. Props to you or whatever member of the hive mind who came up with that. Its such a neat way to proof redstone against button smashing.
Doc mentioning a server wide rail system.... Etho, tango, and Pearl are working on basically that for an automatic postal service, so i think you can expect lots of business from them as more hermits get added to the system in the future.
The funny thing is that if the contracts with Mombo and Zedaph don't say anything about the payment being Diamond, Doc could just pay them in sand instead because that's what the contract said.

DOC you should try considering this idea(just a suggestion)- initially sell logs for cheap (with prior notice about the prices to increase gradually and inflate the price)which first will make the log buyers and the sand seller(possibly the miner too) really happy . Then gradually increase the price for logs so much, that it becomes difficult for the sand miner to manage the shop , thenafter offer the sand seller a deal he/she couldn't refuse and would likely accept due to the stress of maintaining the stocks.This way the currency you created(i.e. sand),along with logs will be your sales item. NOW THAT would be a GOAT level monopoly ,if nothing goes wrong.

I've said it before on one of Cubs videos, but my favorite part of a new Hermitcraft season is watching the technical players rebuild their farming infrastructures and show off new designs they found or came up with.
Doc casually dropping, 'oh yea, all the materials we started farms are for good for world eater'. Legend. Also the timing on the bore explosions to the music was impressive !
Doc, you should automate the process of splitting the profits too. That way you don't need to spend time doing such a menial and tedious task. Maybe even the transport of the products to the shopping district could be automated too.
The best part of watching a series, whether TV or Hermitcraft, is the evolution of the characters and ideas as it progresses. The shopping district deeds, trading, monopolies, and currency is a genuinely tremendous idea!! Makes the “economy” of the server almost like a new character itself.
I love the very real trying to stand in a crowd somewhere you can see without blocking someone’s view, as a fellow tall guy you can tell that came naturally to doc haha
To help fortify your wood dynasty, convince false to sell diamonds. Almost like a bank or she's buying supplies from other hermits for diamonds. I think it would be a great thing because the sand that people receive as payment can be bought by false as well.

It's worth noting that unlike honey bottle farms, honey comb farms don't require a power level readout. The dispensers don't shoot out the shears like they do with empty bottles, so an observer powering the dispenser is all you need.
Doc isn't salty at all about not being able to farm sand. Just going to charge the entire server sand to make them have to do all the digging that they said they'd prefer to do.😂
Hi doc, here's an idea. A subscriber wall/hall were you pick a comment from the last episode and put their channel name on the wall. It should improve the video's performance because more people will want to comment. I commented this on the past few videos but I don't think you saw it.
With the automatic postal service, you could make a "webshop" so hermits can order logs and rails from their bases! If they send a shulker with the payment, their stamp, and perhaps a named note indicating the type of wood they want, their order can be fulfilled fully automatically.
I really appreciate how long your videos are, i put them to play on my commute to work and I can be comfortable Knowing the video will still be playing when I arrive, i listen to them like a podcast....
Love to see that almost every other hermit is like we taking it slow this season. But see you rocking like the world is gonna end in a week. Those auto crafters make you do insane stuf that would have cost you so much time before. I just can't fathom what's going to happen this season it will be insanity and beyond. Hi doc, here's an idea. A subscriber wall/hall were you pick a comment from the last episode and put their channel name on the wall. It should improve the video's performance because more people will want to comment. I commented this on the past few videos but I don't think you saw it.

With the automatic postal service, you could make a "webshop" so hermits can order logs and rails from their bases! If they send a shulker with the payment, their stamp, and perhaps a named note indicating the type of wood they want, their order can be fulfilled fully automatically.
I really appreciate how long your videos are, i put them to play on my commute to work and I can be comfortable Knowing the video will still be playing when I arrive, i listen to them like a podcast....

I'm glad I committed to watching every active Hermit for this season. Your sense of humor and grindset is truly something else, and something that I've only experienced via other Hermit's interactions but I'm excited to witness it all from first person perspective this season.
