Tie a float around the pond end of the pipe so you can find it easier. Also a screen around the end will keep out the bigger contaminates. Very exciting find
@@benny1975 They are living our dreams. (i know it's not all as romantic as presented in the videos and the winters are cold and the summers are very hot there.) I applaud them for having the guts to leave stuff behind and take such step in life and trying to do the good thing.
I've wondered what the large ruin actually was intended as. Next to the pipe it appears there is a water trough, so maybe for (dairy) cattle or (less likely) goats?
I can see Julie in 3 to 5 years time heading up her own project Kamp, as she seems to be an all round individual, clearly administrated to all roles thrown her way.
I've got corporate job that recently got very hard and I'm stressed that I might loose my job and I won't be able to support my family. Somehow those videos let me get rid of the tension. There's something about building everything from scratch, community that makes me believe that even if I got fired I'll be able to make it. Thank you for that.
Hey I’m sending good thoughts, that sounds really tough, I hope you can find a way to look after yourself and let your family support you as much as you’re supporting them, I hope things turn around!
If you put ceramic fiber cloth around the door and the chimney on the pizza oven, it'll take up the expansion of the metal rather than it fracturing the clay
You should put a filter box inside the lake, ideally floating just below the surface (so it picks up neither sediment nor surface grime) with a valve right next to the pond, so that you can open and close the valve without having to get wet. This also gives you a very easy spot to tie into in case you ever add another source of water (like a second pond)
It looked nice, but those stairs are a bit impractical with wheeled tools like but not limited to wheelbarrows (already shown in the video). And I wonder how long that rope in the bridge will last, especially in the middle.
I don't see anyone saying this but in my humble opinion the filming and editing is superb this season! On the other note i want to say Julie is the mvp and Jules is great hope to see him again. Can't wait for the digger !!!!!!
For the rope that you use in the end for the bridge : If you put the whole rope in water (for like 15-30 min.)before making the bonding, it will be stronger afterwards and more durable. The reason herefore is: If it is wet the rope gets loose. When you bond it while it is wet, the rope can dry after you finished and the bonding will be even stronger, even If it rains. (I commenly use this for benches, or similar things where you dont need nails or bolts, in German Forrests for hikers & Tourists)
In English (at least in my area) we call this technique 'lashing.' I lashed some wild cane together to make a really nice privacy screen in a very similar way to how you all put the bridge together. Love watching your material!

you should get a metal detector and search the land, maybe some pipe, maybe some old treasure, for the pipe in the lake attach the head to an old boe so its easy to pick up
The pizza oven and it's update with new compartments is so charming 😂 watching this community putting so much love into improving things makes me so happy
That lake-pipe stuff was really cool. Potentially very useful in the future. This is the most extreme way of recycling. Not only above the ground bus also underneath. I very much enjoy your videos every time. Keep up the good work. You all have the guts to leave your normal life behind and live and build your dream. impressive.
I look from the beginning three years ago all episodes of „Project Kamp“. All episodes were very interesting, but I love this and the last video particularly 😊! I think these two episodes have more structure, than the older ones. You tell us very interesting and humorous stories and the introduction of new participant of Project Kamp is very nice and informative! Thank you very much ❤!
some recommendations: 1. Pizza owen - use different ratio of sand to the clay. Use for next time also liquid glass to the mixture for more durability. You can use fiber glass to fix broken area or chicken wire under plasters. But crack which you opened must be also bended on sides between crack sides ( inside plaster). If you want better quality of plasters use several layers and keep them dry first between every of other layers. Best idea for fixing is put chicken wire on the top and put layer of plaster again and on the top optional is broken roof tiles or bathroom tiles like decoration and for streangth. In the connection area of the owen and chimney you miss the connection piece. it has connection piece in the middle wider aprox 2-3 cm all around. it will fix the chimney pipe and also there is fire proof rope on lower part which fill gaps. and last think add the piece of the metal on the top of the door frame to keep smoke out of clay and go directly up not touching owen from outside. 2. the paths are nice, but is better to put wood pieces to lindseed oil, especially parts which will be under the ground and aprox 5 cm on the top of ground. the closer wood is to the ground faster rotten will be. Better is to charing it in the fire. Charcoal make it water proof and more durrable. And last thing, good is that the bridge is on the stones, but better will be charing that parts because they will be most of the year wet where are connections. Lindseed oil is good also like preservation, but better before construction than after. Especially the rope will not last long like this. better to put rope inside lindseed oil, squeez it and after do work for next time. The moisture will destroy rope fast.
Team, just some ideas and suggestions; water catchment on all the shelters to collect rainwater and prevent erosion and mud and gutters keep the water from dripping down your neck, Fountains/ aerators in the base kamp "lake" to help keep the algae growth down, maybe experiment with wind and water power production. What a great video! I loved every minute of it and wished it were longer. Editing is outstanding this season, and the Kampers introducing themselves is good to see.
You guys should look into putting in "natural swimming pool" type water circulation and filtration systems in the lake/pond. Gonna be a crazy mosquito breeding place if not eh.
The ditch to keep the water away from the path is functionally going against the concept of the swale slowing and capturing water. You will end up with erosion there, causing issues to that apple tree. If you wish to keep the ditch, fill it with a gravel-like material -or more woodchips - to slow the water.
Those steps look fine, much better than the slippery slope. Good job at fixing the oven for this season! I still think building a new pizza/bread oven next to fixing the old one was the best solution. 2 ovens! More pizza, more bread and more dry working/hanging out places for the increased number of campers during the summer.

I especially love the storage fix for the oven in this ep, good job #^__^# !!! Hope you’re staying well-rested out there in the heat of work ❤
Those pipes could serve as a nice overflow/irrigation system. Make some swales or something at the outflows and you could control the exesss waterflow in the property. If they are in good shape you could start planning a whole irrigation system around the pond and the connecting pipes. Great way to distribute water and get some valuable plants growing near/around the outlets. And for the oven maybe you could try pouring some clay slurry in to the new cracks. If they are too wide all the way thru maybe put some of the "cement" on the inside. I don't know for sure tho. I have never worked with clay ovens like this 😅 All in all I love the projekt and all the videos. I truly hope you make this thrive.
Water dowsing (aka witching, or divination) is pretty easy and might help find underground pipes. I did it to find the water pipe from my well to my house a few years ago when there was an underground leak. It can also be used to find underground electrical wires. I used 2 pieces of metal coat hangers bent into an L shape, but there are other ways to do it. I bet someone in camp kamp can figure it out if no one knows already. Or one of your neighbors can probably do it. There are also several devices that can find them, but they can be expensive.
Place the ends of the bridge upon rocks, then it won’t rot so fast. Notching the cross beams will make it more stable. Glad someone got around to making bridges though
This was one of my favourite updates. Idk if it was not only finnaly finding the pipes or seeing them absolutely overflow woth water or poor julie in the water 😂 but i think it will be great having water acess to the ruins and help with the defense of the wildfires
Hey guys I love your videos and the bread making reminded me of my grandma's bread making... but one thing she used to make for us the children was coco milk out of the crust that looked burned after the making of bread... and you can do it by beating the bread with a stick after the baking is done on a piece of paper and all the crumbs resulting u boil with some milk and you get what we called coco milk or poor mans coco milk
You'll most likely regret that trench as the water over time will slowly erode till it's a large trench.. Same was done on my driveway about 20 years ago. I've had to move the driveway over, also had to have 3, 12.5 ton Dump trucks of gravel to bring the driveway back to a decent height and at least 20 tons of dirt to fill the trench which once was like yours.. Best method for moving water is to put in 'speed bumps'. Dirt swails that direct the water across the land instead of funnelling it.

hey guys,
a small idea to prevent you guys to search for the pipe in the pond
if you can tie a floating "bidon" (Dutch) with a rope; you can just follow the rope and find the tube.
and if you tie the bidon big enough with enough length of rope and closer to the end, it should provide you a bit more controlled water, since floating bidon help pipe to float closer to the surface, not to the bottom
hope it works!

Not to say I dislike the enthusiasm of newcomers, but the grit and realism it takes to last through winters and hard times while living minimally build up character
Much love, from my 0.8acres is wales, we have alot in common 😉
Loved the music in the building of the bread supply organizer. I would love to hear more jazzy beats in the future :)
You can use old concrete pipes as water culvert and level above the pipe with natural soil, that bridge looks fun, good job
So cool that you found the pipes
Great video, good working group, very funny, please all stay safe.

ep 111! can’t wait to see what the camp will look like at ep 222 ! I don’t write comments alot on videos but I adore these vids, and I love to see all the solutions you make and things you build ! I especially love the storage fix for the oven in this ep, good job #^__^# !!! Hope you’re staying well-rested out there in the heat of work ❤
I loved that update, very cool energy from the new campers this season, keep going guys ❤
I have never worked with clay ovens like this 😅
All in all I love the projekt and all the videos. I truly hope you make this thrive.
Video number 4 asking for "spikey bushes" merch.
love from kenya ☕
thanks for thecontent its really entertaining and calming
Alaa! nilikua nadhani I'm the only Kenyan who watches this.Kumbe kuna fans.
alot of carpenters on this season (even females, never seen a woman carpenter). Nice to see them working the wood and keeping the knowledge alive!
Be very careful with flour so close to the heat, if the flour gets aerosolized it can cause a fireball.
Correct, but not much danger with a (usually) closed container.
Place the ends of the bridge upon rocks, then it won’t rot so fast. Notching the cross beams will make it more stable. Glad someone got around to making bridges though
These videos are so helpful. Thank you Mr Dave and your team.
Julie is cute, brave and smart. ❤❤❤
This was one of my favourite updates. Idk if it was not only finnaly finding the pipes or seeing them absolutely overflow woth water or poor julie in the water 😂 but i think it will be great having water acess to the ruins and help with the defense of the wildfires
Maybe put something on the pipe on the lake so you can pick easier next time? Well done Julie for going in’
Hey guys I love your videos and the bread making reminded me of my grandma's bread making... but one thing she used to make for us the children was coco milk out of the crust that looked burned after the making of bread... and you can do it by beating the bread with a stick after the baking is done on a piece of paper and all the crumbs resulting u boil with some milk and you get what we called coco milk or poor mans coco milk
The roofing tiles that you don’t want to use no more can be crushed up and used for pathing
It could also be used as a border to
you definitly need a "Kota", a finnish firehut for the winterseason.
¡Gracias!
Nice episode! Nice way of storytelling, more of this please :)
the oven looks amazing now
