The southern Gascon varieties of Occitan are well established in litterature and even immersion school system, in large part because the language remained spoken later there than for the competing Southern Lengadocian Occitan area.
Aranese Gascon Occitan, a southern/pyrenese variety, has its own standardized written form adapting Classical Occitan ortography.
The danger to this sub-dialect is extreme ''Frenchification'', not the Occitan standardization.
Northern Gascon varieties are usually ignored and litterature + education material is almost all in the southern Gascon referential form. The dangers to this subdialect are both Frenchification and referential Southern Gascon. A danger to be relativized considering Northern Gascon is basically ''Lengadocian but with H instead of F''.
Examples of Northern / Southern Gascon Occitan differences :
Internal ''nd''s are retained in the north like in the rest of Occitan ( landas. south : lanas )
No use of enunciative particles in the North ( Soi. South : Que soi ) And mind you, Fois Lengadocian subdialect uses enunciative particles, so it's not totally exclusive to Gascon, and 1/3 of Gascon dosen't use enunciatives.
''gua'' is often ''ga'' as in other Occitan varieties ( lènga vs lèngua ), varies alot though.
Words starting in ''r'' don't have an initial ''a'' added like in the south ( North : riser, South arriser or arrider ).
Usual intervocalic shift of ''d'' into ''s'' as in most other Occitan varieties. ( North : aucèu or ausèth, Southern Gascon : audèth or ausèth )
Certain Sub-varieties of Southern Gascon have extra particularities that are not used in the ''referential Southern Gascon'', but freely used by speakers of those varieties and often overlap with Aranese written standart.
Such as Pyrenese definite articles : eth / era, eths / eras ( or both ''es'' for plural in Aranese ) instead of lo / la los / las found in most other Occitan varieties. You'll find eth/era in official written texts. People aren't embarassed by their local sub-dialect.
You'll usually find those arguing ''Gascon is a totally different language'' will collect all those local Southern traits from different valleys at the same time. Example ''Era lüengue candata''. ( Whereas what you'll usually hear in ''referential southern Gascon'' would be ''La lèngua cantada.'' Oh and they tend to speak French. Often they *only* speak French while agressively insisting ''Gascon has nothing in common with Occitan''.
Kind of like the Moldovan / Romanian or Valencian / Catalan neverending political arguments. Especially like the Spanish-speaking ''Valencian, which I don't speak, is totally different from Catalan'' arguments...

SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2). The Messiah died on the cross, & Resurrected three days later (presenting Himself as First Fruits to the Father). Please ask Him to be your Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life.

@@Outoftime11 You pronounce ancient Hebrew like you see it, whilst modern Hebrew has many rules of pronunciation. Amen. Hayah is a Who, not what? Hayah asher Hayah is the Creator, that is His Name. Are you written in the Lamb's Book of Life? ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23).
