The dash vault has become one of my favorites, and I've been working on trying to get as much of a hand-launch as I can out of it, while trying to get into as close to a forward pike position as I can. There's just something really elegant about the move. And now I understand the kinesthetics of it better, thanks to your video!

Loving these videos to help as a newer coach!
I've found when I'm looking to get more distance on a dash it should fee like "loading a spring" or "compress and extend", helps me to commit to the 'proper technique' if I'm scared and doing the 'jump and touch behind' thing.

Those are some good external cues. Glad you liked the video!

Keep these up! I've been doing dashes for 9 years and have never liked them much because my tech is crap. Always have felt hard on the elbows, which I'm guessing is a symptom of the improper lean. I think I also need to workout the L-sit position and seated leg lifts for more compression/explosion power. If you guys have any more info on them, I'd love to see a video on dash pre and getting more distance out of both running and seated (those Motus guys have some crazy distance!). Thanks!

i knew i had been doing something wrong, it did feel great doing the dash vault the wrong way, but, if i landed a bit too hard on my hands my wrists would hurt and this for some reason actually stopped that risk (the risk wasnt that high but if i ended up jumping higher than needed it could happen), so thank you!

I think I've been doing them wrong this whole time and it's probably why I hated them so much. This was the help I didn't know I needed. Thank you

dash vault and its variations are by far my favourite of all the vaults. Truly an universal move you can put almost anywhere. Being able to dash a wall almost as high as you are is one of the best feelings in parcour for me

For anyone wanting to see the frame-by-frame, pause the video when Rene is mid-jump and use the , and . (comma and period) keys to go backward or forward one frame at a time!

I take off too close (seem to have a fear about not getting over, which I’ll need to rep to build trust)…I’ve definitely eaten that sandwich!

It’s a harder skill to get right than most like to admit. Behind the mental bit is also the strength/mobility component for some.
