The "little guitar" that Rebecca is playing is actually a mandolin. Just so you know.

One of the most haunting performances ever. Emotive and powerful.

"Larkin Poe" was the name of the sisters' great-great-great-grandfather. so both the band name and this song is a tribute

The great-great etc you're referring to is E.A. Poe. The song specifically mentions father's father and one forth blood making the song directly about their grandfather.

@@peterwray7133 EAP had no offspring, so these ladies are not his direct descendants. Their 5th great grandfather, Larkin Poe, was a cousin of EAP though. If they inherited a slice of his lyrical prowess, it definitely shows up in this song. I’m a big fan of their writing and performing skills, and they are smart, funny, and delightful in person. ❤🎸🔥

Interesting enough that the original band was "The Lovell sisters" and was a trio. Transferring from Bluegrass to Blues/Rock.
    Incredible talent in the family.

Mad as a hatter- It is believed to emanate from Luton, Bedfordshire, in eastern England,
where men in the area worked predominantly in the hattery business,
which used mercury in the hat making process. The accumulation of
mercury in the body causes symptoms similar to madness. The earliest
known appearance of the phrase in print is in an 1829 issue of Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine.

I like that you are reacting to some more obscure stuff.

Megan's wailing lap steel floating above Rebecca's percussive mandolin strumming is absolutely haunting, and fits the lyrics so well.
Megan Lovell is the Queen of the lap steel guitar.

I really like this song and can identify with the sentiment . I think the song and the artists would be best served if if the hosts of these commentaries
could let it play through completely instead of constant interruption. It wouldn’t lessen the value of their thoughts and might even prove to be more cohesive.
    fwiw. Thanx
