I came across Larkin Poe this time last year and cannot get enough of them! I am so grateful to all artist who take a risk by putting themselves out there for the whole world in order to help others by creating music that acknowledges difficult subjects and opens up conversations about them!
Thanks for such a sincere and thoughtful reaction video!

"Mad as a hatter" is a colloquial English phrase used in conversation to suggest that a person is suffering from insanity. It is believed to emanate from Luton, Bedfordshire, in eastern England, where men in the area worked predominantly in the hattery business, which used mercury in the hat making process.

I've been following Larkin Poe since their debut album in 2014. Love this reaction, you hit on not only the message but the quality of the song and songwriting and performance. These two are criminally underrated IMO and are some of the brightest young artists coming out of my country (USA) right now. My grandpa came to live with us near the end of his life and he had Alzheimer's. It was so hard to see my dad react to his own father not recognizing him or knowing his name at times. He was otherwise pretty healthy until one day, the day after a physical when he was deemed in great health for his age, he died from a heart attack. That line about 1/4 of his blood runs through mine gets me every time and makes me wonder...could that be me one day? Physically ok but mentally a clean slate? Great stuff from the Lovell sisters.

Not sure how I missed this upload. A reaction to one of my favorite artists and who rarely gets covered. Powerful song and I knew you would have some insight to share. Very sad you have seen this so many times up close. I remember somewhere asking about the reputative section at the end and they were a little perplexed by it. Luckily I have never had close friends or family have dementia but I have talk to others that have. They have hinted that it seems they relive the same moment over an over even during a conversation.
As for Larkin Poe, sisters, who named their band after a great great great great something grand father. Yes, Edgar Allen Poe is in the family tree. They have a southern bluesy sound with plenty of videos of them just sitting and singing covers but have a lot of their own material. Check out their Jammin' In The Van series.
They are also very smart. In 2013 they signed a record deal with RH. RH? Restoration Hardware. Yes they signed a deal with American home-furnishings company. Why? Well from what another Reactor, Wings of Pegasus was explaining, RH wants to support artists. RH supports the artist and get out of the way so the artist can do their thing. Imagine that, allowing the artist to create art.

I also give this song five stars!!!!!There is no need for the elderly to be alone all of the most beautiful’Eleanor RigbyS ‘ that’s the Beatles sang about! Great to see Larkin Poe -- you should check out their cover of "Carry on my Wayward Son" by Kansas, or "Sweet Home Chicago" for a taste of real blues. This two are SO talented and have awesome harmony!

Hi Big TFS! That was a GREAT reaction. I've really gotten into Larkin Poe the past year and I'm actually attending my 1st concert with them later this month in New York! Yes, that's a lap steel / slide guitar the older sis is playing, and a mandolin, the younger strums. If you haven't reacted to their original, "Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues", that's a great rock/blues, kick-ass song!
Lastly, I'd like to request that you please listen to 19-year old Courtney Hadwin. I'd suggest 3-songs. Her cover of "Hard To Handle", which she performed at her America's Got Talent audition 5-years ago, her cover of "Sign Of The Times" and her original she just released a few months ago, "That Girl Don't Live Here". THANK YOU!

One of the best reaction videos I've ever watched. Thanks man! It was cool to see someone feeling the same emotions I feel every damn time I watch this. And I've been watching it for over 3 years. Every time it smacks me right in the gut.
So I'm wondering if you plan to react to any more Larkin Poe? Their sound has really evolved in the 5 years since this was recorded. If you want to go down the emotional road again, probably the most emotional recent song is "Ain't Gonna Cry" off the Venom & Faith CD. (nominated for a Grammy in 2019 - Best Contemporary Blues Album) Unfortunately their are no live recordings of this song, but the studio recording is very powerful. Another great song from this CD, more of a rocker, would be "Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues."
    Ain't Gonna Cry: ruclips.net/video/EWnpGKh2Cxk/видео.html
    Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues: ruclips.net/video/sGI_TWLl_UY/видео.html
On the other hand, if you want to hear some of their more typical (who can be emotional all the time? ) searing, rocking, bluesy, rootsy songs, and get to know them a little bit, this is a wonderful live in-studio performance with interview questions. Knowing their background, and hearing them talk about how much they admire and love the great blues artists who came before them is really refreshing. It makes you feel like the future of blues is in good hands. Check it out! The last song Wanted Woman / AC/DC destroys! It's about as far from 'Mad as a Hatter" as you can get from the same artists.
    ruclips.net/video/5lmxSx_iAoM/видео.html
Fair warning - After watching these videos you will be hopelessly hooked on (and madly in love with) these amazing musicians! Enjoy your journey down the LP rabbit hole! There is a LOT to discover! They've been performing professionally for 15 years!
New subscriber now and looking forward to watching all your reactions. Cheers!

Hi Frank, thanks for reacting to my absolutely favorite band. It was one of the first songs that Rebecca wrote with 14 or so. They never recorded it so far on an album. But they play it almost on every concert. There is one on sunday 09/20.
Pls check their channel for this. It' s not free, but come on, artists need support these days.
And pls check also the Official Videos from their new Album. For Example "Holy Ghost Fire" and "Back down South".
