I don't know why the green jaguar and the yellow Jordan are impressed so deeply in my childhood memories. I used to watch races every weekend with my folks on the sofa and sometimes even in the early morning with blankets and snacks. And I loved the crashes. I have no memory if this team but man, they must have made my childhood a lot more exciting seeing how much trouble they caused. Thanks for the Video.

I swear, more than half of the 2006 season is just "They were last in qualifying, moved up 1-3 spots from penalties, then managed to jump the Midlands' due to their awful starts, but then wound up in last by the end of the race"
Great video though, one of the teams which almost nobody remembers, myself included. Only remember them from all the time playing F1 2006 with Sato and Ide still as drivers

Hi, Peter! Here's a suggestion for a vídeo: Which F1 drivers performed the best in their championship-winning seasons?
Only the *race wins* from each season that a driver got the title should be counted.
    *For example:*
    1. Counting a single season
Ascari, 1952, had a 75% win rate (6/8 races won).
Verstappen, 2023, had a 86.3% win rate (19/22 races won).
    2. Counting all the drivers' championship-winning seasons
Hamilton had a 50.37% win rate (68/135 races won) in his 7 championship-winning seasons.
Schumacher had a 55.08% win rate (65/118 races won) in his 7 championship-winning seasons.
Fangio had a 57.14% win rate (20/35 races won; not including Indy 500) in his 5 championship-winning seasons.
*Note: It is not of my intent to glorify or depreciate any of the F1 drivers' champions. It's not easy to become one, so each one of them deserves great respect.*
These are just examples. Would be nice to see this math be done w/ all F1 world champions!

My goodness, were the 2000s cars so awesome. Small, light, twitchy & agile machines that sounded absolutely sinister!
Newer fans NEED to see these cars & just stop watching completely till we get them back. We can do it completely guilt-free with synthetic fuels, so there’s no reason not to. Smaller & lighter cars coupled with the ground-effect aero of today would also make the racing absolutely awesome.
And for God’s sake, bring back grooved tyres and refuelling. Watching Grand Prix cars dancing right on the ragged edge was NEVER boring to watch, even in the most uneventful & processional races ever. It’s why people held Monaco in such high regard. You could really SEE and FEEL the speed.
If enough people DEMANDED that these featherweight missiles come back, then they’d be back by next year.
Formula 1 isn’t some environmentalist Expo ceremony, nor is it a place for car makers to show off some fancy tech no one gives a shit about. It’s a race, period. The only people that F1 should be catering to are the fans. They are the main source of income for the sport and the very reason it is what it is today. And if that weren’t the case & they didn’t need us watching, they wouldn’t pour millions of R&D money into making the cars more raceable.
It’s time we ALL spoke up.
And as far as car makers go, if they really don’t want V10s back (yes, even Ferrari), then they should leave and do Formula E instead.
Give us our sport back. Bring back the REAL Formula One.

    • @father_flair
      @father_flair 5 месяцев назад +1

I agree as far as car size goes. However, I'm pretty sure today's cars could be made smaller without changing anything else. They were 20cm narrower in the beginning of the V6 era, and I'm pretty sure the length was increased all the way back in 2010 when refuelling was banned to make room for the tank. Since engines have gotten more fuel-efficient since then, it should be possible to build a 2000s-sized car with the current formula. However, the weight is mostly determined by the engine and fuel. Personally I feel that it's important for racing cars to be roadcar-relevant, so I wouldn't want to go back to an outmoded engine type. Also I'm one of the few people who prefer today's exhaust sound. Bringing refuelling back could be an option to make cars lighter. It would increase strategy (especially if drivers had to qualify with race fuel), but overtaking on track would probably decrease, so I'm on the fence about it. I wonder how the racing would be with smaller cars at today's weight (and turbo hybrid acceleration). For me the point of any new formula should be to finally get rid of aero outwash. Would it be possible to get similar levels of grip with ground effects only (or maybe with just simple wings without any frills)?
